Oliver didn't want to drag the topic anymore, he knew it won't do any good. Besides, it's all in the past anyway, so he changed the topic and asked looking at her, "Why did you take my shirt?" Oliver let go of Ava's hand, afraid of hurting her.
"I don't know. Maybe I put it in by accident." Ava pretended to be ignorant. Of course, she wouldn't tell him that she wanted something that belonged to him so that she can live without him and that's why she brought it with her. She was also a proud person after all besides if she said it he would ask the questions, she didn't want to answer.
Oliver took the paper bag from Ava's hand and took out his shirt from inside. It was his shirt without any doubt, he took the shirt toward his nose and smelled it. The shirt smelled like Ava, her body fragrance mixed with the milky shower crème she uses. Oliver loved this smell.
"Why does my shirt smells like you?" Oliver looked at Ava deeply, and the smile on the corner of his mouth had already filled his heart. Oliver already guessed that she had made it pajama and must be wearing it at night.
"What are you talking about?" Ava got flustered and didn't know how to answer him. She never thought this cunning man would ask such a question into her face.
"Don't lie. You made it a pajama, didn't you?" Oliver's deep eyes exuded a dazzling smile.
"I didn't!" Ava shouted out in panic. Looking at Oliver's face she knew Oliver had already seen through her. Ava's face turned red in embarrassment, she had no dignity left in front of him. How pitiful!
"Then explain why my shirt smells like you?" Oliver was enjoying this too much. Of course, he could see through her mind he loved her after all but the woman is so stubborn that still, she wouldn't admit it.
Before Ava came into his life Oliver used to think, nothing could affect his mood but now he knew Ava has become his weakness. Anything related to her will turn his mood upside down. Since Kiara left this evening he was very annoyed but now just by seeing Ava's face his mood already got better.
"It's probably the smell of my perfume. I don't know." Ava stammered her mind was running fast to find an excuse. Although Ava was quick-witted but she was never a good liar, she may have hide things from him in order to not make him angry but she still didn't like to lie unless she had to, it always made her tired.
"You never wear perfume, and this is your body fragrance, not a perfume smell." Oliver quickly exposed her lies with a wicked ruffian smile on the corner of her mouth. He looked like a freaking demon at that moment.
Ava looked at him and got scared and instinctively she leaned toward the door, suddenly she thought she had already delivered the shirt then why does she have to stay here. She should go back home so Ava reached out to open the door but her hand stopped in midair hearing the 'click' sound. Bastard! He locked the door.
"Don't you know me yet Ava? There is no escape from me." Oliver came close to her, so close that they could feel each other's breath.
Feeling him so close Ava's heart missed a beat, she asked him nervously, "Didn't you say, you will never pester me again?"
"Of course, I won't pester you. I just want you to return what you took from me." Oliver said in a deep voice.
"Well, I have returned it now."
"What about my heart? How are you going to return it?" Oliver's asked in a serious tone but there was a touch of sadness in them.
Ava was stunned and her heart felt a sharp pain, they loved each other so much but maybe it was their fate that they can't be together.
Ava said lightly, "It never belonged to me then how can I give it back?"
"Then you'll never be able to get rid of me," Oliver said with an unpredictable smile on his face.
"Oliver, this is not funny. Can you please stop this?"
"Ava, I know too that it's not funny, but I am not doing it for fun. I am doing it to torture you, I would like to see how you will get rid of me." Oliver's face suddenly became fierce and his voice turned cold.
"Then so be it. Do as you please." Ava smiled sadly.
Ava felt heartbroken, she broke up with Oliver to save him from the pain of her betrayal. Although she still didn't know how she ended up sleeping with Sam but she did, and that's the truth she never wanted Oliver to find out. She wasn't afraid that he will hate her or will destroy her family if he found out, she was worried he will be heartbroken once he knew. But Oliver was not giving up, he was a proud person, yet he keeps coming back to her and begging her to come back ignoring his own self-esteem. Ava didn't know how much of it she can take anymore. Her heart ached to see him like that yet she couldn't tell him that she was not worthy of him anymore. Maybe that's her own selfishness, she wanted Oliver to remember the good things about her.
