Beating up the classmate

In the big classroom.

Ava opened her book and attentively listened to the professor in front of her. The professor's way of teaching was different from others, normally medical lectures are a bit boring and require rote memorization. However, the professor in front of her had an interesting way to present the facts, which was entertaining as well as easy to catch. All the students including Ava were very relaxed and enjoying the lectures.

Ava looked around and found that there were nearly a hundred students sitting in the big classroom, most of them were attentively listening to the lectures, a few were playing with their phones and some were lying on the table dozing off. Ava suddenly felt like she has returned to her days at medical school. Back then she also cherished every opportunity she got to learn. Although all these students around her were unfamiliar to her, still the atmosphere felt the same.

"Students, let's take a short break now." The professor said closing the book in front of him.

Ava started to go through the notes she had just taken and tried to see if there was anything she didn't understand and wrote down the question she had. Some students went out to have some coffee, or snacks and others just sat there either reading their own notes or talking to the people around them. Ava has been always the quiet type so she didn't join in their conversation.

When Ava was done checking her note, she unconsciously wrote Oliver's name on her notebook. When she realized she quickly closed the notebook.

"Hey, can I sit here?" All of a sudden, a man with dark skin and a height of about 5 feet 9/10 inches, with a sharp facial feature came to Ava's side and asked her with a smile.

Ava looked at him and blinked a few times then with a polite smile she said, "Sure."

"What's your name?" The man looked at Ava with a burning gaze.

Ava noticed that and felt uncomfortable she had no desire to make conversation with him so to avoid him she said, "What?"

"Hey don't get me wrong, I have been noticing you since the first day and I think you are really cute and I like you. Which hospital are you from? Why are you always so quiet?" The man's eyes were bright with excitement.

"Thank you," Ava said politely then continue to read her book.

These boring lines she had heard many times when she was at the medical school before. She thought since it was a doctored degree, these people must be very mature but this man really surprised her by asking these stupid questions. She had no time for this kind of person.

"Hey, I really like you. I'm a resident doctor in the 301 hospital. You look so young, you must be still a student." The man looked at Ava and thought, she was too young to be working.

Ava just smiled but didn't look up. She thought why he was so proud of being a resident doctor? What will he do if he found out she was the director of cardiology in her hospital?

"Why are you so cold? Do you know I have a Mercedes Benz?" The man said proudly, he was a bit anxious being ignored by Ava like that.

"First of all, I don't know you. Secondly, do I have anything to do with you having a Mercedes Benz? Thirdly, please stay away from me." Ava was a little annoyed and angry by the man's attitude.

"Why are you being so arrogant? Can you afford a Mercedes?" The man looked at Ava with disdain on his face.

Ava rolled her eyes and said coldly, "What's wrong with you?"

"Listen don't show me this attitude, ok! You should feel lucky that I am interested in you." The man said with a ruffian smile.

"Well, I thank you," Ava said and started to tidy up her things. Looks like she wouldn't be able to continue this class now that this idiot was sitting next to her so she was preparing to leave.

The man saw that Ava was leaving he said quickly, "Hey, where are you going? Answer me first, I said I like you.

"Well, I refuse," Ava said straightforwardly raising her chin.

"Oh! You are not happy with my financial condition? You must be a gold digger." When the man saw his confession failed, he got very angry at Ava and start to humiliate her.

Ava held back the volcano that was about to erupt from her heart and quickly walked toward the exit. However, the man did not give up he followed her and before she got out of the classroom, he suddenly grabbed her arm.

"Let go of my hand," Ava said angrily and glared at the man with a warning in her eyes.

"What if I don't? What will you do little girl?" The man looked at Ava arrogantly and said mocking her. He thought what could a weak woman like her do to him?

By then all the students in the classroom noticed the scene the man has just caused, Ava couldn't hold back her anger anymore. Before any of the students could react Ava knocked the man on the ground. She did it so fast that the crowd was in awe of her and the man lying on the ground was stunned.

The man cried out in pain, he was caught off guard and now his left arm was dislocated. However, he felt more humiliated by getting hit like that by a girl.

"It's not my luck that you like me, it's my misfortune. Do you think you are rich? So proud that you drive a Mercedes Benz. Well, let me tell you I drive a Ferrari. You better not flirt with others like that, not everyone s as tolerant as I am." Ava said biting her teeth and looking at the man indifferently.

All the students in the classroom were stunned. They started to admire Ava very much. It has only been a week since they started the class together but no one thought the quiet girl who sat on the corner and attended the lectures so seriously could be this fierce.

Ava left the classroom and walked alone on the path of the camphor tree. It was completely dark outside but the sky was full of stars. She suddenly felt very lonely. It's been more than two weeks since she had broken up with Oliver. She hasn't seen him for the last 15 days. She only saw his pictures in the newspapers and financial magazines. Knight International's business is as usual booming. They have signed many big contracts in these few days, Ava was happy for Oliver but she still missed him terribly. Maybe that's how it was supposed to be. Maybe someday she will be able to remove him completely from her memory.
