In the evening, James and Lilly insisted Ava and Oliver, to stay for the night. At half-past eight, Lilly urged Ava and Oliver to take a shower and go to bed as pregnant women need more rest.
Ava took out her pajama's from her wardrobe and suddenly realized Oliver had no clothes here to wear. She went to James and Lilly's room and asked for one of James's Pajama for Oliver. Lilly checked her wardrobe and finally found a brand new set of Blue Plaid pajamas.
Ava took it and went back to her room and said with a smile, "Oliver, Dad is not as tall as you, so tonight you will have to make do with this."
Oliver took the clothes and said with a smile, "No problem, it's for one night anyway."
Ava went to the bathroom and took a quick shower, when she came back to her room she saw Oliver was sitting on the bed holding an old photo album which was on her bedside table drawer. Ava's eyes widen, that album had every picture of Ava since she was a child, even some embarrassing one. Ava ran to Oliver intending to take back the album, however before she could Oliver stood up and held the album high. Ava was so angry she jumped on the bed to take the album but Oliver held her waist afraid she will fall and took her in his arm and sat down on the bed with her.
"Oliver, give it back to me, please!" Ava said anxiously because she just remembered she had a few pictures of Jacob in there. She was afraid if Oliver saw them he will be angry.
"You still have Jacob's picture in here," Oliver said with a faint smile, but he was a bit upset.
"I don't know, I haven't seen that album like in forever," Ava said lightly. Unfortunately, he has already seen it. Why didn't she removed them earlier, Ava cursed herself.
"Who is the girl holding the violin beside you?" Oliver asked as he stared at the old picture of Melody and Ava in a daze.
"That's my best friend Melody, I told you about her. She died in that accident 5 years ago." Ava snatched the album from Oliver's hand and closed it. Her eyes were downcast but the sadness on her face was clear.
"Silly girl, don't be sad. Take some rest I'll take a shower quickly." Oliver touched Ava's head and said softly.
After Oliver went to the bathroom Ava opened the album again and took out the picture she had with Jacob. The pictures were taken on one of the summers she came back home from England for a summer break. She was wearing a suspender skirt and she had the pendent Jacob gave her on her neck. Ava touched her neck unconsciously, she still has a pendant on her neck but it was not the same one anymore. So many things have changed in these few months. Ava suddenly recalled she lost the pendant the night she slept with Oliver for the first time. Ava meant to ask Oliver but later she forgot.
Ava was lost in her thoughts when Oliver came out of the bathroom wearing a towel. The water was still dripping from his hair to his broad shoulder and chest making him look very sexy. Ava smiled and said, "Why didn't you dry your hair? What if you catch a cold?" Saying that Ava stood up, took a dry towel, and pulled Oliver to bed to dry his hair.
Oliver smiled at her action and obediently sat down on the bed and let her dry it. He said proudly, "Don't worry, I'm not that weak to catch a cold just from a shower."
"Yes..yes you are the strongest. By the way, Oliver, I have been meaning to ask you something. Do you remember the first night I was with you at the hotel, I had a pendant on my neck. Have you seen it?"
"No!" Oliver said squinting his eyes. Just now he has seen a picture where Jacob was putting that pendant on Ava's neck, so he guessed the pendant was from him, that's why Oliver simply denied it. Actually, he took that pendant that night for a keepsake of their night together. In fact, the pendant was still lying in one of his office cabinet drawers. When he got back with Ava he thought of giving it back to her but later he forgot. However, now knowing it was from Jacob he will never give it to her. He'll throw it tomorrow! Damn that pendant.
"Oh, Ok," Ava said lightly but her expression didn't change, she was still smiling and drying Oliver's hair.
"Why are you asking? Who was it from? Your Ex?"
"Actually, yes."
"Silly woman, how can a cheap pendant win your heart?" Oliver said in a tone of ridicule.
Ava stopped drying the hair and said narrowing her eyes, "How do you know the pendant was cheap if you didn't see it?"
Oliver said calmly, "Do I have even have to guess? I know what that piece of shit can effort. It's definitely can't be anything expensive."
Ava: "..."
Ava stared at him speechlessly, then start to dry his hair again shaking her head helplessly. she believed she has lost it in the bar that night. So she didn't think much about it. It was not important anyway, with the pendant her relationship with Jacob was also lost, so it didn't mean anything to her anymore.
Seeing Ava didn't care about the pendant Oliver felt happy in his heart. He pulled her closer to him and made her sit on his lap then he kissed her softly and said, "Let's go to bed. It's late already and you need to rest."
Ava smiled and lay down on the bed obediently and fell asleep on Oliver's arm.
