In a blink of an eye, it was Chinese New Year. This year the snow was very heavy covering the whole city into a dense white fog.
Ava woke up in the morning and slowly walked to the window with her heavy stomach. She was 6 months pragnent but she looked bigger. Ava looked outside the window, the snow was still falling and the wind was very strong outside. The garden in front of the villa was covered with white snow making it look like a snow land.
Ava was close to the window and her hot breath was making the window misty. Ava smiled and started to draw in the window, unconsciously she drew a heart and Oliver's name inside it. She looked at the name and felt warmth in her heart. She suddenly remembered she read somewhere it's beautiful to watch the first snowfall with the love of your life. Seeing Oliver's name on the glass and the heavy snow behind, she felt like she was watching the first snowfall with him.
Oliver came into the room and saw Ava was standing at the window watching the snow. A gentle smile showed up on his face as he silently came to her and held her from behind. Oliver's eyes fell on the name on the window and his smile got wider. He said in a low teasing voice, "Looks like someone has been missing me a lot."
Ava smiled embarrassed, turned, and hid her face on his chest. Oliver laughed at her shyness and holding her head he started to shower kisses everywhere on her face. They have known each other for more than a year; she was married to him and was about to give birth to his child yet this woman still was shy in front of him. What he will do with her? But honestly, he loved it, he loved it when her face would become red with her shyness, it's adorable and he wanted to love her even more at that time.
Ava and Oliver were lost in themselves, having a good time when the doorbell rang loudly. Both of them wondered who was there to visit them on New Year's Day.
In fact, Ava and Oliver were struggling with where to go today on New Year's Day. If they spend it with the Green family then the Knight will be upset and if they spend it with the Knight family then the Greens with be sad. But Ava thought it was her responsibility as a daughter-in-law to spend the holiday with Oliver's parents. However, Oliver opposed thinking if Ava didn't get to see her parents on such a day she will be unhappy. So they couldn't make up their mind about where to go.
Mrs. Lee opened the door and was surprised to see Oliver and Ava's parents at the door. She quickly stepped aside and let them inside.
"Haven't they woke up yet?" Ella asked as she walked into the living room with a happy smile on her beautiful face.
"It's time for them to come down. Let me call the young master and madam." Mrs. Lee said respectfully.
"No, it's ok. Let them sleep for a while longer. It's the holiday and they are still young." Ella said thoughtfully as she pulled Lilly with her and sat down on the couch.
Since Ava and Oliver got married, the Knight family and Green family often spend time with each other. They have made a family gathering mandatory for the whole family every month and except for that, James often accompanies Conner to cheese and golf, whereas Lilly and Ella would go shopping and movies with their other girlfriends. Both of the families developed a very good relationship over time. So it was Ella and Lilly's idea to come to Oliver's so they could celebrate the New Year together.
Ella took out a set of poker cards from her handbag and held out in front of the group, "Let's play a round until those two come down, what do you say? Ella said with a smile.
Lilly agreed readily and Conner and James had no choice but to play together with their wives. Both Conner and James were not fond of gambling, although sometimes they played Mahjong but they still think card games are cheap.
After Ava got freshened up Oliver took Ava's hand and came downstairs but the moment he saw the four elders playing poker in his living room he was actually shocked.
"Hello mom, Hello dad." Ava and Oliver said in unison.
"Oh, you two finally come down. Go and have breakfast quickly then let's play another round." Ella waved her hand, didn't even look at them. Her whole concentration was on the cards in her hand.
Oliver helplessly rolled his eyes, was this really his mother? Looks like he was more responsible than his mother. Oliver took Ava to the dining table to have breakfast.
Ava looked at the elders from the table and with a pout, she asked, "Oliver, what's going on with them?"
"I don't know but it's good that they are here now we don't have to choose where to go. Come on let's eat, later I will take you out to play with snow."
After breakfast, Oliver and Ava joined the elders in the living room but they refused to play so Ella and Lilly had no choice but to stop the game. They put away the cards and started to chat and laugh happily. Outside the snow was not falling anymore and the wind also calmed a little and inside the atmosphere was warm, everyone was having a very good time. Ava looked at the people around her and thought life couldn't get any better. She got everything anyone could wish for.
