Let's build a snowman

Ava stayed quiet most of the time listening to the elder's talk half laying on the couch on Oliver's lap. She felt very comfortable. Ella and Lilly had various topics to talk about, she was very happy to see her mother getting along with her mother-in-law. She still remembered how difficult Lilly was knowing about her and Oliver's relationship and when they decided to get married Lilly was even more worried. But seeing them so close today Ava was relieved, she looked outside through the window and saw the white yard. Suddenly she said to Oliver, "Honey, Let's go outside and build a snowman."

"Ok." Oliver gently kissed her forehead and took her upstairs to put on some heavy clothes so she wouldn't catch any cold. When they were ready and was about to go downstairs Ava suddenly stopped Oliver.

"Oliver, wait." Ava went back to the closet and came out with the scarf that she made for Oliver. She walked to him and tied the scarf on Oliver's neck.

Oliver felt warmth at the simple gesture and seeing it was the one she made a smile showed up on his cold lips. His eyes were full of dotting as he said, "Let's go and build a snowman."

Ava was already wrapped in a heavy down jacket, gloves, and boots, yet Oliver wrapped his arm around her like a bear so she would be warm. Ava felt helpless but she knew how protective Oliver was of her, so she stopped saying anything about his overprotective gestures a long time ago. Although it was sometimes very annoying but she still felt warm when he would make a fuss over simple things, that would make her realize how much he actually loved her and cared for her.

Oliver opened the front door and a gust of cold wind hit his face. They stepped on the soft snow together making some rustle noises. Ava's eyes brightened up seeing the white surface in front of her. All the trees and the yard was covered in white snow and the colorful flowers of the garden peeked through the snow, making the yard look even more beautiful.

Oliver kneeled on the snow and started to roll a big snowball, Ava also kneeled down and helped Oliver to make the ball. Soon they made a few snowballs then Oliver efficiently put them together to make a snowman. Although Ava's body was a bit heavy and it was difficult to move too much, still she had a lot of fun.

Oliver and Ava built three snowmen, two big and one small, one male and two female. It represented their little family, Oliver, Ava, and their little princess.

After making the snowman they stood in front of them as Oliver hugged Ava from behind and said with a smile, "Baby, do you realize that, at this time next year, we can make snowmen with our little princess."

Ava smiled and nodded her head. She took out her phone to take pictures of the three snowmen. At that moment, Mrs. Lee came out to call them to have some snacks. Oliver asked her to help them take some pictures. Oliver took Ava's hand and stood behind the three snowmen. Mrs. Lee took a lot of pictures of the couple feeling happy seeing their childish actions.

The wind blew past them and snow started to fall again lightly. Oliver quickly scooped her up in his arm and Ava held his neck tightly. She smiled at him and made her New Year wish. She wished for Oliver to have a very good year and also wished for their little princess to come to this world safely. She hoped they will have a happy time together with their little princess this coming year.

Oliver also looked at Ava's bright smile and thought to himself although he had everything but the woman in his arm was all he needed. Before meeting Ava, Oliver thought he will never fall in love again so he decided to live his life alone and that's why he was being too playful outside. Probably, just distracting himself from the pain because he was injured. But this woman healed his wounded heart and brought him infinite strength. He loved her with all his heart.
