Got her memory back

The weather started to change from winter to spring, the white snow melted and there were new leaves on the trees bringing the invitation of a new season.

Ava was sitting in the garden. The afternoon sun was shining around her and the air around her was fragrant from the flowers. Her stomach was getting bigger and bigger every day. It's nearly seven months. Ten days later, the finals for the "midsummer night's dream" will be held. Ava was looking forward to going to Vienna. She already consulted with the doctor and the doctor said it was ok for her to fly, so Ava was happily waiting for the day to come. Oliver was supporting Ava's competition wholeheartedly. In fact, he has already booked a hotel in Vienna and reserved a seat at the completion hall in advance.

Ava stayed in the garden till the sun sat making the west sky red. Ava walked around the garden with her big stomach for a while. In order to have a healthy pregnancy and give natural birth, Ava tried to exercise a lot. Seeing the sun has already sat Ava slowly came inside the house. It's time for Oliver to come home. Ava just came and sat down on the couch in the living room when Oliver came back. About 5 minutes later Melody came holding some bags in her hand.

Ava hasn't seen Melody for a while. She tried to call her a few times but her phone was always switched off, so seeing her today Ava was very happy.

"Mel, where have you been? I've been trying to call you but your phone was switched off." Ava slowly walked to Melody and asked with a smile.

"I had a bad headache for a few days, so I was admitted to the hospital. Ava, I have recovered my memory." Emily pretended to be emotional as she started to cry and hugged Ava. But she was looking at Oliver with pain and blame in the eye.

Oliver had an indifferent expression on his face but the moment he heard Melody has recovered her memory his face changed for a split second.

"Really?" Ava, said excitedly as she pulled Melody and sat down on the couch her eyes also turned red thinking finally she got her best friend back.

Melody nodded, but the expression on her face was very sad, she kept looking at Oliver from time to time. Ava was so consumed with the fact that her friend was back that she didn't notice Melody's unnatural reactions. They talked for a while before Mrs. Lee called them for dinner.

"Melody, please stay for dinner," Ava said warmly.

Emily shook her head and said lightly "No, I have to go now. I have to go somewhere, so I'll leave now. " Saying that Emily stood up to leave.

Ava being thoughtful, asked Oliver to drop her home as Melody didn't come by car.

"Oliver, please drop Melody off."

Oliver had a headache, he didn't want to be alone with Melody, not after finding out her memory was back. But he couldn't just refuse Ava, besides if he did, that will arose Ava's suspicion about why he was refusing suddenly so leaving with no choice Oliver walked to his car with a black face. He was about to open the back door like last time however this time Emily came to the passenger's door and took the initiative to sit on the passenger's seat. Oliver was a bit taken back but he didn't say anything.

The atmosphere in the car was very depressing. Oliver was quietly driving the car, he didn't even look at the woman beside him. He just wanted to drop her and go back to Ava as soon as possible.

Seeing that Oliver had no intention to have any kind of conversation with her, Emily decided to start the conversation. "Oliver, I remembered everything."

Oliver's hands on the steering wheel got tighter, he knew he couldn't avoid this conversation so he pulled over at the side of the road. It was dark outside and the road was almost empty, crossing one or two cars once in a while. Oliver didn't know what to say so he kept quiet, staring into the dark night.

"Oliver, why aren't you saying anything?" Melody pulled Oliver's arm in agony, her eyes turned red and tears came out in a flash.

"There is nothing to say. Melody, we are done, it's all in the past now." Oliver retracted his arm and said with a cold face without even looking at her.

"What are you talking about? Don't you love me anymore? And why did you marry Ava? You know she is my best friend, Oliver, how could you do this to me!" Melody started to cry hysterically.

"Sorry, but I love Ava now. I don't want to talk about the past. What's gone is gone." Oliver didn't look at her even once when he said all that, he was afraid seeing her in tears his heart will soften and he will feel more guilty. After all, it was not her fault that she lost her memory. She was still stuck in the past whereas he has moved on. Oliver felt suffocated at that moment. He loved her once and promised her to live with her for the rest of his life but now here he was sitting beside her and married to her best friend. Oliver hated himself at that moment.
