"If there was a way for us to live in the same body,
I'd do it"
{}
The rays of the morning sun seeps through the blinds as I crack my eyes open in irritation. Slowly sitting up, I realise that I wasn't in my room but in Sakura's instead. Memories from yesterday flashing through my head about how I got here and spent a night.
Hunter had left minutes after the sinful kiss we had shared in the kitchen and I proceeded to come up here and comfort the crying blonde. It took a while. As she had actually taken everything that had happened yesterday to heart as she cried her eyes out. I spent over half an hour trying to comfort her as she snuggled into my arms in search for all the warmth and comfort I could offer.
Just like a baby with it's mother.
Guilt suddenly makes it self heavy in my chest when I remember the last thing she had said yesterday before falling asleep. I could remember how my heart had stopped and the way my body had paled.
"You and Hunter are the only good things in my life" she had said. I couldn't even begin to imagine how bad it would be when she finds out that Hunter and I had been doing stuff behind her back. And I wouldn't blame her if she hated me. Even I hate myself right now. It's not like I actually want what Hunter does to me... But it would be a lie if I said I didn't enjoy it.
My chest starts to feel even heavier when I imagine the disappointed and betrayed look Sakura's face would hold if she ever found out about our secret. I'd definitely loose her.
My fingers dig into my dark brown strands sighing in frustration. I needed to end this before it gets out of hand. I needed to knock some sense into Hunter and also try to forget about my huge crush on him. I needed to make him realize that he was in love with Sakura and what he feels for me is nothing but an infatuation which we all feel for people from time to time.
If only it were that easy.
There's a knock on the door and I mutter a soft 'come in'. And in comes Jackie.
The dark skinned girl skips into the room with a huge grin as her eyes land on me.
"Wassup bitch! What ya doing in my girl's room? And where is the damn girl?" She says looking around as she takes a seat on the bed next to me. I look around also in confusion. I hadn't even realized that Sakura wasn't in bed next to me.
"I... Don't know. I just woke up" As if on queue, Sakura walks out of the bathroom in her bathrobe drying her wet locks with a towel. She seemed to be in a better mood as she was humming a song with her lips rolled between her teeth.
"Hey Goldy!" Jackie chirps.
"Hey Coco, wassup? What are you doing here?" Sakura says with a weak smile still towel drying her hair.
"We couldn't take your cute little cousin here to the park yesterday so I figured we go today just the three of us. Sound good?" She asks and I notice the hesitance in Sakura's face as she bit on her lower lip.
"Actually... I can't" Sakura sighs shifting from foot to foot.
"What? Why not?" Her friend asks concerned, now noticing how in a low mood her best friend was. Sakura walks to her dresser taking a seat on the stool. She starts playing with her hair.
"It happened again" she mumbles as the dark skinned girl shoots up immediately.
"What? That bitch again?!" Jackie growls obviously angry as she clenches her fists pacing the room, "you want me to go beat her wrinkly ass up?! I did say I was gonna do it the next time she messed with you!".
"No, no don't. Don't. She's not worth your strength Coco"
"She hurt you Sakura"
"I know but just... I don't really want to make everything worse than it already is. Just leave it. She's not worth it" Sakura mumbles sadly which tugs at my heart.
There's a sad frown on my face as I watched the exchange between the two friends. I was amazed by how Jackie immediately wanted to spring to action if not for Sakura stopping her. I knew they were close, but I didn't realize they were this close for Jackie to even suggest beating Yui up.
Getting off the bed, I walk over to Sakura. Wrapping my arms around her in hopes of consoling her. And I guess it works because she smiles at me through the mirror.
"Sakura... If this is what you endure in this house then why didn't you just move out?" I ask pulling away as she turns around to face me.
"Moving out would only mean I let her win. There's this feeling I have that she's done something to my dad to make him this way. Magic spell, Brain wash, I'm not sure. People just don't change that drastically.." she pauses pushing her bangs behind her ear, "but either way, I'm still going to stay here and fight for my dad. She can't steal him away from me. And I'm going to keep trying until I make him realize she's not the one for him".
A smile graces my lips, touched by how determined she was to get her dad back despite everything. Simply admirable.
"Though I could move out as you said. To take a break from everything. I've been thinking about it lately so I might do it soon. Though obviously you're coming with me"
"I'm stuck to you as a koala bear on a bamboo stick. You don't even need to confirm if I'm coming with you" I laugh softly as she pats my thigh grinning. We were both busy grinning at each other that we almost forgot Jackie was in the room until she interrupts the cute moment.
"Aww, this is adorable and shit and all, but we have a park to go to. Now get your cute asses ready and let's go!"
{}
We ended up spending the whole day at the Ueno park. Just the three of us. And for the first time in this trip, It actually felt like the normal fun holiday I had hoped for.
We'd managed to cheer Sakura up by engaging in different fun activities. Besides exploring the park and trying out different street foods, Sakura also took us to see the animals at the zoo as bonus. Before finally choosing a spot to set up a small picnic.
"Oh damn, I can't even remember the last time I've had this much fun" Jackie laughs taking a sip of her soda.
"Me too. It's nice to take a break from everything" Sakura agrees also taking a sip of her drink. Bringing out my phone, I open the camera app raising my phone up.
"Ok girls smile!" The two girls beside me scoot closer with wide grins as I take the picture. Well... Several pictures.
Girls will always be girls.
"Ugh, I need more of that Cotton candy. Where did we buy it again?" I ask stuffing my phone back into my purse.
"Oof, you're gonna have a long walk from here before you get there. I think near the zoo entrance? Yeah definitely there" Sakura says tapping on her chin as if trying to remember exactly where we bought the huge soft candy.
"Ok. I'll be right back" standing up, I put on my shoes as the two girls ask me to buy them some also which I agree to. They're lucky dad sent me some cash yesterday.
I start making my way to the place Sakura had described and eventually, I spot the guy selling the cotton candy. I buy three sticks, paying for it before I start making my way back. There were barely any people as I start walking on the bridge of the park. The water beneath beautiful as ever as it sparkled under the sun.
I stop to admire the moving water, taking in it's beauty when someone runs quickly past me.... Well, behind me.
I look over to see a woman with a giant hat, wearing a similar yellow sun dress as mine as she scurried off the bridge. It was as if she was trying to get away from something, or from someone. As if she didn't want to be seen. I look back at the water beneath me with raised confused brows.
Ok then.
Finally deciding I'd had enough, I continue my journey on the bridge to go back to the girls when someone yells behind me.
"Freeze!" And I do.
Standing stiff in my spot as the three sticks of Cotton candy fall from my hands.
"Turn around" the person orders. Heart pounding in my chest, I slowly turn around to face the person who I soon realise was pointing a gun at me. It was a guy with blonde hair tied up in a bun and brown eyes. He has a dark frown on his face as he scans me up and down.
My legs felt like jelly and it felt like I was being suffocated in the inside. Never have I ever seen a gun in my entire life until today. And from the looks of it, I wouldn't live long enough to tell the story.
"Who sent you?" He asks walking towards me slowly. Gun still pointed at me.
"Wh.. what?"
The guys narrows his eyes at me clearly annoyed at my question.
"I will not repeat myself again. Who. Sent you. Who sent you to spy on us?" He asks as I raise my shaky hands up innocently.
"I..I..I.... I don't know what... What you're talking about. I..I only came to buy cotton candy and-" he cuts me off.
"DON'T TOY WITH ME GIRL!" the sudden outburst almost makes me pee my self as I look down at my shaky legs.
"I.. I'm sorry" I whimper still looking down. He walks even closer until he's inches away. Gun pressed firmly against my forehead.
"I will blow your brains out if you don't tell me who sent you in the next five seconds girl"
"Wait. Leave the girl alone" a different voice orders authoritatively from behind the blonde man, "it's the wrong one".
My head turns to the direction of the very familiar voice. And I'm surprised to see non other than Hunter standing there just a few feet away with a gun held casually in his hand. Two body guards on either side of him.
My eyes widen at the gun in his hands and he seems to notice this because he smirks, stuffing the gun in his back pocket before he approches me. I also notice that there was another person silently standing there next to him with a blank expression. Black hair and blue eyes, isn't that Leo?
I don't have time to process everything when I notice that Hunter had stopped just inches away from me, holding my chin up to look at him with wide scared eyes.
"Look how frightened you look" he coos tilting his head as he scans my frightened face, "did he scare you that much?" He asks, and I actually can't tell if he's really concerned or just taunting me.
In a flash, Hunter turns and shoots the blonde guy in the head with his gun. I watch in horror as the guy drops dead. Blood seeping out from his head. I want to scream, but I can't. I want to run, but my feet are stuck to the ground.
Hunter just killed a living breathing person in front of me as if It was nothing. Was he insane?!
My thoughts are confirmed when he smirks, golden eyes flicking over at me.
"Tsk tsk tsk Conejita... You made me do something evil" he pouts with a small grin, "but I didn't mind doing it since it's for you... Now say thank you like a good girl" the insane man in front of me coos leaning down to my height until we were eye to eye.
"You're... You're crazy" I whisper finally finding my voice to speak. Hunter only smirks at this which sends bad chills down my spine.
"For you, yes"
My phone suddenly starts to ring and I shakily raise my hand to check the caller ID. Sakura.
"My girlfriend summons you..." He looks from my phone up to my face,
"run little bunny"
And I did.
