One o'clock in the morning. Guards are around the hallways of the main auditorium. The doctors and researchers in their rooms. Everyone else asleep, but six others. This was the day that everything was about to change, whether they knew it or not. It was time to take out the plan they made the first time. The plan when all six had ever arrived at the L.O.P. Along with experimenting a little theory they had of their own.
"Are you sure about this, Ley?"
"We don't know for sure if it's all just about learning about where we came from, Preston. but guys, just think about it. What are the things the governments is always hiding information about the public, so hidden that nobody knows it even exists? For one is their weapons throughout time. We have powers. They make atomic bombs if they are that merciless. Why not add children and teenagers we train to kill with their blood descendants powers who stopped others from doing the things that L.O.P want to repeat. They are using and making weapons out of us."
"Ok well. Big point," Roxanne replied. The others eagerly all agreed.
Two o'clock.
" Ok. let's do this!" Exclaimed Quinn. "Hey Dyl Pickle, you were supposed to make the key; you still have that butter knife you always keep in your pillow," asked Roxanne. "Yeah I do here, Harley. I don't trust this woman with anything. Even if it's a butter knife. Take it."
"Get along!" The voice of Prest irritatbly said to stop the bickering. Harley turned to the door extremely concentrated, picking the door after melting the butter knife's tip. A creacked sound like nails on a chalk board had echoed throughout the room of 190 of the Ranked-X subjects. The door had opened.
"I really can't believe that worked…" Mie said out loud to herself. "Well you just need a good thief," Harley spoke with a smirk. The group walking towards a certain darker hallway where it was completely restricted, especially to the guards as well.
"Still funny how you stole that butter knife from the cafeteria. How did you even get it through the door checks?" Preston asked with a small flashback.
"I slid the plastic butter knife into one of the L.O.P guard's pockets and then when I walked passed and they hand checked me, I just had to pick-pocket him without him knowing it."
"….Jeez."
"Ok. This is the way we need to get to the 270A sector. Where they keep the restricted files. A way to learn about our parents," Dylan explained.
In the 270A sector, they saw the door marked restricted. "Ley, this is the one do your thing," said Dylan. "Got it!" said Harley lock-picking opening a door once again.
They entered through the door of the restricted file and saw the big screen. "Preston, your up; hack the computer. Files on the Hunters, the Hacks, the Drifts, the Smyths, and the Sazukis. There has to be something important connecting to them. Quinn and Mie watch the door, use your mad training skills if someone notices us. Roxanne look to see if there's anything in the physical paper files, and Dylan help me search to see if there is a secret safe or something," said Harley. "Yes sir!" said Roxanne, "ha ha. Sure very funny."
3:30 o'clock.
A call from Preston attracted Harley's attention over to him. Preston had caught her up to speed. "Ok so apparently it's true. We each got our powers from our parents. Dylan from his dad. You, yours…interesting, from well..."
"-both of them had fire…" Dylan had came from behind his tall figure leaning over Harley while Preston got a little jump.
"-I will continue. So Quinn got hers from her mother. Mie from her dad. Roxy got her power from dad. For me it was from my mom. My mom had the green lightning rank. My dad had the dark purple rank, lightning."
"Well that explains a lot. But any info about how our parents died or anything."
"nope. Nada."
"I see three guards with the gun looking thing that can shoot electric. They saw us!" yelled Quinn.
"Mie are you able to use water yet or you need to be more calm?!"
"Yes. I can do it. But what are you thinking and hurry?! We're stuck in a corner of a room, they'll shoot us!"
"let them!"
"ExUse mE!?"
"Roxanne, don't worry I have a plan!"
As Harley continued, "the moment they shoot. Use your water to stop the bullet. Kind of like a force field. Get the timing right don't worry you got it Mie!"
"Got it!" the guards then shot their weapons. Mie used her water as a shield. A reaction that caused the electricity to go from the shot to the inside of the electric guns. Instead of them getting electro-fried. The guards themselves got hit with their own electricity. "Now hurry leave the room. Let's go!" Yelled Quinn.
Dylan put Mie in front of the group in case the event that happened prior before was to repeat. They were now running through the 233S sector. Quinn stopped the group and whispered to her friends. An Extra that Quinn had was her super hearing.
"They are gonna jump us there; about seven guards are near the left and right hallway. What are we gonna do?"
They started looking around. Both Harley and Dylan turned to a vent and nodded to each other.
"Hey Dylan crawl faster, or you switch spots with the person in the back and trust me you don't want to be behind Preston."
"Hey!"
The other girls started snickering at this point. Besides the fact they literally had to crawl like caterpillars through a small vent system.
"Well. She's actually got a point; when's the last time you took a shower, Buddy."
"let's just keep moving and get out of here, after all your scared of the dark, Buddy," replied Prest right back to Dylan."
A vent cover practically went flying as Harley hopped out of the vent as it was kicked open. "We're close to the exit, Preston. Once we get there, I want you to hack the door, but first take down the cameras with this TechPad. Make sure they don't find out we're here."
"What Tech-"
Dylan passed, more like carefully threw a TechPad from his backpack toward Preston.
"Where did you even the Techpad from?" Roxy turned to Dylan."
"File room."
They made it to the exit door. Preston was training by himself every night for months to figure out how the exit door's tech works so he could hack it; thankfully, all that training finally paid off. The door opened once Preston got it to switch its programming around; right before the group could make one step out the door, there was a familiar man's voice exclaiming, "You leave now; you'll be running all your life, turn back, and we will tell you what happened to your parents. The reasons why they were on our upmost tab, and why you six are special."
The now-teenagers turned around and saw Doc. Oliver in his oh-so-shiny white lab coat. Harley and Roxanne gave him a look of stupidity. As Harley answered against his statement.
"As if we would trust you. Here we go with the lecture like a villain from a rip off comic with your. 'Oh, your so special,' pep talk to keep us from leaving. As if we ever had a choice. Listen Doc. Oct. You kidnapped us when we were young. Of course obviously without our consent."
Each of the friends agreed with a step forward. Side by side. With a look at each other, they nodded. They took their stand to show they weren't backing down from their decision."
"Well looks like you kids aren't backing down…"
"You got that right Doc. Oct!" Of course Roxanne had replied.
"-And we will keep fighting no matter what. Bring all you and your government got. We're making it out of here!" yelled Quinn. "Everyone back! Preston hit it!"
The six stepped out of a metal exit door. With a loud metallic, bothering noise. Preston had closed it back up just in time for the electric guns to shoot the metal door instead of their bodies. Preston had also added a glitch to every single door in the entire facility through that one door. It would take at least two days to get it back up and running. Preston was always the top of his class where other students no matter the age could never break his code.
Running, they we're now in the middle of the woods. The middle of nowhere. Run and fight the words running in their minds. While they settled down for a little. Night hit as they took turns to be on watch.
As morning came, Quinn remembered something. A certain something that could help them greatly.
"I was taught in training that whenever there is a river to follow, it's because-" Mie and Quinn finished the sentence together "It could lead to a city or small town!"
"Well, it looks like we're running from here on out, better than being held against our will; let's figure out what happened to our parents. Doc. Oliver said if we wanted to know the truth about them. Who said we needed him to know the truth. Besides he already just gave us a hint that the L.O.P has something to do about this. So let's go find it ourselves."
"Couldn't agree more," replied Roxanne.
"Same" both Preston and Dylan said in synch. "Let's get moving." finished Dylan. This group unknowingly just made a future. An opposite passion of the L.O.P. But what will that mean for others?
