Chapter 9

It was finally break; the first school day almost done. The last thing I need to do is show my true colors. Laughing and being silly is just one of the fronts I put up with. Something in my gut told me to turn back once I entered the cafeteria but once again, I ignored it.

I found Orica and Kera already there, sitting at our table and happily conversing. Orica's hair was dry by now and straightened, her blonde hair hanging on her shoulders. It looked like she got a professional haircut.

"Mira!" Their voices chimed together when they noticed me.

I chuckled and smiled as I sat at the other side, while Kera sat at the end and Orica next to her.

I couldn't help but notice the same sketch book in front of Kera and a pencil in her hand.

"Who did Orica's hair?" I tilted my head as I studied the fine detailed dress design on the paper.

"I did." Kera smiled as she looked up at me and winked. "You're welcome."

I laughed softly. "So, you're an artist and hair stylist?"

"Yep." She nodded her head.

Orica giggled along with me but the happy moment was short lived when a familiar voice spoke up next to me.

"Aren't you supposed to be drawing?!" I cringed when I noticed Carlita with Raina behind her.

"Do you even want your book back?" She spat at Kera through her disgusting teeth, her breath reeked of olives. Oh right, she took Kera's English textbook, remember?

I closed my eyes and took out my juice in my lunch bag. I took a big gulp, only to choke on it from lack of air. Carlita flashed me a grossed out look and rolled her eyes.

"I'm sorry. Carlita. I'll start drawing right away. I promise you will have it by the end of the school day."

"You better." Carlita warned and sneered at Kera as she walked away with Raina.

Before I was about to speak up, Orica spoke up, already beating me to the question.

"Why do you draw for that bitch? She treats you like crap."

"Yeah, why do you let her pick on you?"

Kera flinched, her soft voice suddenly speaking up.

"Carlita is really rich however she has her own fashion designer but she doesn't like the way he draws her designs. Earlier last year after discovering me drawing, she demanded to have me draw for her without payment. I refused and that was when she took it too far. She did something which would made me lose my dream career if someone found out."

"So now she's blackmailing you?!" I snapped.

Orica looked back at her in Kera in pity while I was enraged.

"Kera." I said slowly as I gripped the table. "What does she have against you?"

"Mira please you don't want to know..." Kera placed down her pencil.

"Drugs." Kera looked down. "Someone planted a packet drugs in my book and she took a picture with me in it."

"Oh." Orica and I both said.

"What did you do with the drugs?" I was not going to let Carlita get away with this.

"Took it to the principal but he just told me to keep quiet and not let anyone find out or it would tarnish the reputation of this school." I shook my head.

Jeremy could take care of that.

"Don't worry Kera." I smiled at her. "She was the one who planted the drugs."

Kera gasped at me and shook her head as she kept drawing. Orica just watched her but little did they know I connected eyes with the last person I wanted to.

"Sweetheart"

You're not getting away with what you did either!

The same auburn colored no name that I met this morning gestured in my direction which made me widen my eyes. I shoved my juice down my throat, they were walking towards our table.

Kera looked up and gasped, nudging Orica. "They are heading towards us."

"Ugh." I hear Orica's voice.

I choked again and looked in the way she was looking.

It was seven of them!

All seven of them surrounded our table. I felt like passing out from the air which was begging to leave my throat. My vision was hazy again until it finally cleared to see perfection once again. Why can't puberty love me as much as it loves them.

"Ugh! What do you want! Corgi!" Orica growled, that's a lot of hate on her face though.

"Chill I'm not here for you anyway. We're history I hope you know that." The best looking one spoke up.

Orica just kept glaring at him.

I looked to my side and glared at the Auburn haired.

"Oh it's you!" I spun around and looked up at him.

"Look at you sweetheart." I cringed at the nickname as Corgi directed his attention towards us. "Always looking up at me, where you belong."

I felt my face turn red as all of them laughed at me.

"Lumen, not now. First impressions are most important in our circumstances." Corgi smirked at me which made me bite my lip. His smirk had the same effect on me that a knife being hold to my throat would have. "Aren't they, Mira?" the way he said my name made my toes curl and I scoffed getting up and ignored him as I directed my attention towards the auburn haired, Lumen.

"I am not done with you." I glared at him, standing on my tip toes.

I could feel Corgi's annoyance since I ignored him.

"Feisty, lucky me." Lumen chuckled which made me slap the sh*t out of him, my fingerprints left an imprint of his face which made me smirk. Everyone gaped at me and the fact that I slapped a guy so hard his face got marked.

"Next time treat a girl with respect."

Corgi chuckled and shoved Lumen away. "You weren't lying, were you, Lum."

More intrigued he stepped closer to me which made me avoid eye contact with him, not backing away and ignoring him.

"Look Sluvashki. I don't appreciate being ignored." He hissed trough a forced smile.

"Oh I know that." I smirked and looked up into his eyes.

I could see his veins show and his muscles tense up as his eyes almost flashed red but I could only laugh.

"No one ignores me, got it?"

I gulped which made him smirk.

"What are you really up to?" My face was expression less and my voice bored. "If you're trying to scare me, go ahead freak, I am not intimidated by you."

Corgi mirrored my expression. "Ordinary methods don't work on girls like you."

"Girls like me? You never met girls like me." I laughed in his face.

The other guys I paid no attention to. My eyes was tearing through his dark brown evil orbs with a red shade hiding behind them.

"Just get lost Corgi!" Orica yelled, the tears brimming in her eyes.

Corgi rolled his eyes as he looked at Orica. "God am I glad I dumped you."

Corgi directed his attention back at me. "Which is why you intrigue me so much." He had a cold hearted smirk on his lips.

"Why would I want to associate myself with something as degrading as you?" I hissed.

That's when a smirk made its way towards my face. "Your brother is more worth my attention than you are."

He chuckled and ran a hand through his gelled brown hair where there was also hair covering his ears. His mocking brown eyes was trying to melt me with every blink he made.

"Using my little brother against me?" he snorted. "Now that's a bold move dearest Mira. Oh how adorable- you actually think you can outsmart me."

"I don't even-" he suddenly cut me off.

"Listen Sluvashki. I'm the king of the school. Better be careful. I have a lot of people under my power. No one will ever resist me."

He suddenly walked closer to me, whispering in my ear, his voice husky. "Not even you."

It send shivers down my spine.

Orica wasn't even in time to stop him before he pulled back.

"Okay?" He said with a satisfied smirk.

A huge sigh escapes my lips. "Fine."

He flashed me a sadistic grin and spun around with his friends.

"But- its not over yet." I finished.

He spun around. "Excuse me? What did you just say to me?"

I walked up to him. "You heard me."

"I said- I won't ever stop resisting you- I won't just let you walk away with your pride after talking to me like that." I hissed.

Corgi widened his eyes and glared back at me.

"You will regret that-" just then Orica cut him off.

"Mira. Just ignore him, this isn't you anymore. And you Corgi!" She ran over to him, pushing me back.

"Fuck off! You fucking excuse for a man-whore!" She yelled.

I widened my eyes, this was the first time Orica showed this side of her.

"Tch. Orica. You're not any better." He responded a frown on his face.

"At least I just lost my virginity once. You're the slut around here!" She yelled harder.

"Once a slut." Corgi smirked.

"Always a slut." The other guys spoke with him in the background.

Suddenly Kera spoke up startling all of us.

"I had enough of this! I'm not someone's little slave! Are talents not supposed to be enjoyed! Not forced upon." She was crying.

I clenched my teeth and jaw tight together.

"What an emo." Corgi scoffed.

Why that little-

"Why hello Corgi, how have you been."

A look of irritation suddenly crossed Corgi's face. "What do you want Carlita." He sneered.

She walked up to him with her gang. The other guys, forming a protective barrier around Corgi.

"Get away bitch." Some of them growled.

"Oh what's this? We are friends! Aren't we Corgi?" Corgi grumbled and backed away.

My blood was still boiling.

"Whatever." Carlita scoffed and walked over to Kera. "What is wrong with you! Can't you do anything right?!" She snapped.

Corgi and the rest started to walk away.

By now Kera was sobbing a lot.

Orica went to calm Kera.

"And what is the School slut doing in my presence?!" Carlita scoffed.

Orica ignored her and kept trying to make Kera stop crying. Carlita scoffed and also started walking away. I rushed over to Kera, my blood fuming along with my mood.

"Are you okay Kera?" I asked kindly.

"I can't do this anymore!" She sobbed.

I sighed and tried to resist this temptation that was controlling but it got so bad and I couldn't think straight anymore. I grabbed the sketchbook from Kera. I got onto the table. Kera and Orica watched me with curiosity and confusion.

"Hey Carlita!" I shouted above the crowd, oblivious of all the new eyes upon me.

"What?!" She spun around, a bitchy atmosphere around her.

"Want to see some magic, druggie?" I smirked, still oblivious that everyone started watching me.

"What do you-" I cut Carlita off just as she spoke up.

I started tearing up the drawings.

Carlita started freaking out.

"What do you think you are doing! Stop that! Right now! I command you!" She panicked, her voice sounded like a coward's.

"Oh please. Already too late." I smirked as I let the little pieces of paper fall.

A sudden echo of gasps followed throughout the cafeteria.

"You BITCH! YOU WILL REGRET FOR EVEN HAVING FINGERS TO DO THAT!" Carlita screeched.

I didn't even notice her this close to me.

I couldn't keep being serious anymore and burst out laughing.

Suddenly a fist collided with my face. The painful feeling that suddenly started on my face, made me already know that it was going to cause a black eye. She missed my eye but it still hurt. Suddenly I got lost in time as I felt myself enter an endless abysses of pain. I only know the cold surface my back landed on, seemed to snap something inside of me- but what? Yet it was so familiar...

Oh no it it's happening again.

Luckily I blacked out this time.
