Chapter 3: To Accept Or Not To Accept, That Is The Question

Liam couldn't detect where he was or why that place looked so peaceful and colorful. He knew he did make it and he could feel he was still alive but this felt different.

Liam didn't feel his body, just his spirit and he had no idea why and how he could tell he felt such a thing. Suddenly a wolf appeared next to him.

Blue… Liam looked at his wolf next to him and immediately found that they were both dreaming. So that's why I can't feel my body…

Liam looked around and tried to detect anything unusual because werewolves never dream about something but if they have a dream, it was supposed to be an important thing.

You failed. Blue looked at him with his magnificent blue eyes and his fur dancing with the wind. We are alive and it's all because you hesitated so much.

"You did not fail." Out of nowhere, a woman appeared next to them.

She was tall, very tall, probably more than eight foot and her face looked unbelievably beautiful. Her eyes were a perfect mix of black and white and her skin was pale.

She had a long and simple dark-blue dress that looked like the night sky that made her perfect body shape stand out. She looked like a total stranger but familiar. No one could tell how old she is, she looked so old but so young at the same time, twenty? Thirty? Fifty? Hundred?

"Who are you?" Liam asked politely. He knew that someone like her would be an important person. "You look—um… kind of familiar to me but at the same time I know I never saw you."

"Clever boy!" The woman had a kind and proud smile on her face. "I'm your mother. I'm the mother of all the werewolves, Selene."

Liam looked at Selene with shock written all over his face. It looked like a dream! Well, technically it is a dream but a reality in a dream.

Liam didn't hesitate to answer Selene. It was rude to stare with shock at a goddess. "Why I got the honor to see you, my majesty?"

"I see you are a well-mannered child." Selene chuckled with her eyes fixed on Liam. "I have a request from you."

"Everything you want, your highness." Liam didn't pause for answering her question. Their goddess is well-known for her wise and mature attitude.

"Accept your mate," Selene said with an average tone and looked straight into Liam's emerald eyes, exploring his emotions.

Liam opened his mouth to ask why she asked for such a thing but Blue's growl stopped him. Selene looked at Blue and then snapped her finger, making a mind-link between the three of them so Blue could talk too.

There is no way. Blue said with an angry tone. I will not let Liam do the same mistake as his pack.

"Interesting!" Selene said with a little smile and then turned her face toward Liam, he looked so pale and shocked by the way his wolf talked to the goddess. "Wolves are supposed to be the ones who can't resist a mate and here we are, the wolf doesn't want his mate while the human is willing to at least think about my words. Interesting…"

"Excuse my wolf, your highness." Liam was scared that the goddess would do something if Blue pissed her off. "Can I ask why you ask me to do that? I'm sure that you know why I can't accept a mate." He was careful with his tone to be as polite as it could be.

"Young wolf." Selene's magnificent eyes were still connected with the emerald eyes. "There are so many things but the time is going. Don't reject your mate and be with him as a friend and soon enough, you will understand everything, my dear child."

"What if it happens one more time? The history always repeats itself, goddess." Liam always hated to get hit by the people he trusts, but it always was like this.

"Then you shall stop it." Selene's tone was calm but her answer made Liam's heart beating faster. "My child, it's not your mate that you should be scared of. I can assure you and your pretty wolf that there is nothing to be scared of, at least nothing from your mate."

"What should I do?" Liam said helplessly, half to himself. "What can I possibly do?"

"You have a great fate in front of you, my dear." Selene looked at Blue. "Let fate do it all for you. Let your instincts take the decision and you will be the person you always wanted to be. "Farewell my child."

Liam didn't say anything as the goddess started to fade away and he started to fade away too which only had one meaning, he was waking up.

Meanwhile, Logan was sitting next to his mate's motionless body, taking every inch of his face to his memories. It has been eight hours without any movement from his mate and without any food or sleep for himself.

"Please wake up!" Logan whispered for the hundredth time in these hours nut this time he got an answer. Liam didn't want a mate, true. But Selene's words, as a goddess, really comforted him and he knew he could trust his mate, not right now but in the close future. So, he moved his hand with the little power that was in his body.

Liam opened his eyes and soon he caught the attention of the most handsome face in the world. His mate was the definition of perfection. He had a sharp jaw-line and his eyes were a beautiful mix of brown and gold. He could feel the power that came from his godly body so he knew he was a strong Alpha.

None of them knew what to say. The moment their eyes met everything around them seemed to disappear. The only thing that existed in their sight was only and only each other.

Liam ignored his wolf and blocked him while he looked at his mate. "Umm… Hi." It wasn't the best thing to say at this moment but he couldn't think about any other thing. "I'm Liam…"

Logan's face showed no emotion but his eyes were bright and happy that his mate finally woke up and his wolf was jumping with excitement in the back of his mind.

"I'm Logan and your mate." Logan saw the doubts in Liam's face so he gave him a little smile showing him that everything was alright.

"Logan…" Liam tasted his mate's name in his mouth automatically which made Crimson howl in excitement for another time. "Umm… Where am I?"

"The infirmary of the Mist pack," Logan informed with his reassuring smile still on his face. "How do you feel? Do you want me to call the doctor?"

"No, but thanks for asking," Liam said while he examined his mate. He looked like he was a few inches taller than Liam and he was a bit more muscular.

Liam sited on the bed, his eyes still fixed on his mate and it was the same for Logan. "You know why I am here, don't you?" Right now, Liam knew everything was going to be alright, he felt this weird feeling for the first time, he didn't want his mate to reject him and he felt scared.

Logan gave him another smile. "I know but it doesn't matter. I will wait for the right day when you trust me enough to tell me what happened. Things like this can wait."

"I—uh I want…" Liam tried to escape from his mate's fierce gaze but he failed. "I can't accept the bond right now and—and there are so many things that aren't at the right place like my wolf. I'm not rejecting you it's just—"

Logan saw how his mate is so broken and by the way he spoke, so fast and nervous, so he interrupted him with his little smile still on his face, which by the way was a personal record. "It's okay and I understand that you have a hard time but we have all the time in the world. There is nothing to worry about."

Liam nodded and they fell into a comfortable silence but there was one thing that they didn't know. Their peaceful time was not that much.

  1. Selene is known to be the mother of all the werewolves. Some of the myths say that Selene created the first werewolf with a cup of her blood so technically, the werewolf race all have some of Selene's blood and that makes Selene their ancestor and all of the werewolves, partly demigod.
