Chapter 8: Apparently, The Infirmary Is My New Home

"I hate this place," Liam stated grumpily. It was the second time that he woke up in the infirmary of the Mist pack but this time he had no idea why.

"Well," Allen grinned at Liam. "With what I learned about you in the not-so-short time that you were here, I knew I must get used to having you here most of the time." It didn't help Liam's nerves a little. "Being with the future Alpha affected you," Allen stated.

"Where is Logan?" Liam ignored everything that Allen said which made the man give away a sigh of disappointment. He wanted to get to know the future Luna but he was making it super hard.

"Alpha had to attend a meeting." The middle-aged doctor said nervously and Liam, as the mate of the future Alpha of the pack, realized that.

"Why are you nervous?" Liam said bluntly. "I don't remember why am I here. Care to explain?" He wasn't this confident usually and didn't talk so bluntly but being the mate of an Alpha made him this way while it's needed.

"The future Alpha will be here soon," Allen said while rubbing the back of his head nervously. Telling a lie to Luna was impossible for the members of the pack and he knew it better than anyone. "I guess it's better if future Luna talk to his mate about this than me telling." A knock on the door. "Speaking of the devil!" Allen happily escaped from the awkward conversation, or at least awkward for him.

Logan entered the room and his once empty and emotionless eyes were now filled with worry and concern for his mate and you didn't need to be Liam to notice it. He wasn't covering it.

"You woke up?" Logan asked but it came more like a question than a statement. "How are you feeling?" He was like a question grenade. Then he turned to Allen. "How is he? His condition?"

"Not traumatized." Was everything that Allen said before leaving the future Alpha and Luna make Liam confused. Traumatized? Why?

What happened to me, Logan? Liam asked through the mind-link.

Logan looked at his mate. His mate wasn't the type that people could call fragile or petit. Liam was six-foot-tall with slight muscles that you could only see when he wore a tight T-shirt. His hands though weren't as big as Logan's. it was more like an artistic type that came from the Omega gene in his body.

He wasn't the one to fight. He defended only when it was needed. His eyes though were something that he loved the most about him. His magical emerald eyes hold a dark past and a bright future.

"Logan are you there?" Liam waved his hand in front of his mate's face.

"Sorry what?" Logan got pulled back by Liam to the real world. Liam raised his eyebrows in a questioning way. "I just zoned out." Logan shrugged off the question. There was no way he would tell Liam about his thoughts, not yet at least.

Logan pulled a chair and sat next to Liam's bed. "You know what mate?" He asked with amused eyes and a devilish smirk on his face. "When will you stop showing up in the infirmary?"

And not scaring the hell out of us? Crimson added in the mind-link that caught both boys and Blue off guard. The wolf sensed it and snorted in the mind-link. What is so weird about me talking?

I don't know. Blue talked for the first time to his wolf mate and it had the same effect that it had when Crimson talked. Maybe the fact that we never talked before? The wolf teased.

Fair point. Crimson said with mischief in his tone that matched Blue's tone pretty well. They were mates too after all. Wolf mates, in their case.

"Wolves." Liam shook his head in amusement. "But you were right Logan. No matter what, I always end up in the infirmary. But I don't remember what happened…"

"You hit your head when you passed out." Logan watched his mate cautiously. Allen said the part that he hit his head, could make him forget some time before passing out and look like his theory turned out to be true. "But it's nothing major."

"I'm sorry." Liam suddenly said with his head hung low and his nearly-brown hair covering his eyes that Logan didn't even need to look at them to know his precious mate was feeling sad and guilty. Liam intertwined his hands and started to dig his nails, something that Logan learned that he did when he was anxious and stressed.

Logan leaned closer to his mate and cupped his cheeks while looking at him with a concerned frown on his face. "Why are you sorry?" Logan asked with a concerned tone. Why was he sorry? Liam didn't say anything but a tear rolled down his left cheek.

"Liam?" Logan asked. More concerned than before. He would give anything to see his mate's bright smile again and his emerald eyes shining brighter than ever with happiness. He would kill anything and anyone that made his mate sad.

"It's just… I'm not good enough for… For…" Liam pointed at himself and then Logan. "I don't deserve his. I'm not good enough for you and the pack. I'm weak and pathetic." Till now, he managed to keep his tears in his eyes pretty well but another one escaped just like the first one and after that another and then another and soon, it was a water show.

Logan didn't know what to say. He was shocked. He never thought Liam would doubt himself. Liam was the perfect mate for him. He was his mate for goddess's sake! They were made for each other and no one will ever complete him the way his beloved Liam did.

"I wasn't like this." Liam sniffed and Logan was still in shock of his mate's word and every other word increased that. He was staring at Liam with his mouth slightly open and his eyes wider than usual. "I used to be stronger but… The pack… My pack… I just can't be the person that I used to be…"

'Our mate thinks he's not good enough for us?' Crimson growled. 'What bastard put that thought into his head? Say something you bitch!' Crimson's growl pulled Logan back to earth and his teary mate.

"Liam—" Logan started but Liam stopped him.

"No!" He said while running a frustrated hand into his light brown hair. "I need to say this. Please listen!" Logan nodded helplessly. His mate was in pain and there was nothing he could do to stop this and it seemed like it's his fault.

"I keep coming to this place! This room! This bed!" Liam pointed around himself with teary eyes. "I am weak for being an Alpha's mate and I will be a weakness to this pack! Damn it! I am pretty sure the reason that I'm here is not even important!"

Logan wanted to say something but Liam cut his words again. "Is it a selfish choice? Am I a selfish person that wants to be by your side even though it will bring you no good?" Liam's tears seemed to get more every time he pronounced the word selfish. Logan moved closer and hugged his mate. Their bodies fitted perfectly together.

"Am I selfish? Because I want to be the only one to say it to you? That I want to be the only one that hugs you? That I want to be the only one that kisses you, even though I'm weak? I want to be the only one to say this to you Logan. I want to be the only one that you say those words. I want to be the only one to say I love you to you because I love you."

Logan hugged his mate tighter. He had a perfect plan and a perfect date to say the L-word to him but compared to all those plans, this was nothing. The infirmary was a weird place to share the first I love you but the moment was right and right now, Logan was determined to show his mate that he shared the same feeling and even more. That he loved him and right now, he loves him even more than he ever did.

"My turn to give a little speech," Logan said that made the teary boy in his arms give out a little chuckle. "The goddess knows that from more than seven milliard people in this word, who is the best for me and I'm the best for him. The person that completes me. Everyone knows that I'm this grumpy moody wolf that never shows emotion."

Liam chuckled one more time and hold his mate tighter which made Logan tighten his embrace too. "You make me happy. Happier than I ever was. You complete me like a missing piss of a puzzle in the middle. I need you by my side to be the perfect Alpha. I need you and if I could choose my mate, I would still choose you. You make my heart beat at a pace that even the heaviest exercises can do that.

"You make my heart feel things that it never felt before. Things that I want to feel till my last breath. You make my eyes shine with excitement and happiness no matter how hard I try to hide my feelings. I can't hide something that was here for this long. I can't hide it and I don't want to. I love you so fuckin much that it hurt so much. I love you, Liam. I love you; I love you so much."

Liam hugged his mate tighter and snuggled farther into his mate's embrace while Logan had tears of happiness in his eyes even though he didn't let them fall. He kept holding his mate till their breaths became one.

Logan pushed Liam down and leaned closer. He looked at his mate for permission and it all went to stars when Liam nodded with a faint blush on his face. Logan closed the distance between them and their lips caught each other in a hot make-out session.

Logan pulled his mate closer and let his hand run beneath his mate's white hoodie. Liam moaned and for a moment, Logan forgot everything. All he wanted was his mate and if it was needed, he would claim his mate right here, right now.

"I love you, Logan." Liam managed to say that in between the kisses.

Logan pulled back for a moment and looked into his mate's eyes. He was irresistible. He loved every inch of his mate. Both Crimson and Logan couldn't wait for the day that they will be finally able to claim their mate. To mark them and to show every single person in the pack that Liam was his.

"Not as much as I love you, my mate." He didn't miss the hungry looks that the other single members gave to his mate and he wanted to kill every single person that dared to touch his mate.

But of course, life's a bitch, and couldn't wait for the best moment to finally blow up their lovely bubble.

"Never thought I would see my brother with his mate after that." A voice suddenly said from behind them.

They stopped and as soon as Liam's eyes got a lock with the other emerald eyes, he gasped and stared at the tan man in front of him. "Nathan?"
