Vermin Tide

"Was that your brother holy sh*t i was almost dead help me up " "ok one sec" Jason lifted with all his strength and mr stien was abel to pull his legs from under the shelf fortunately he was undamaged, he reached back and grabbed the rat body the size of a large dog and said "open you backpack quick and lets get out of here" Throwing the creature body into his backpack the ran for the exit but just as his had touched the door they heard screeches of creatures. Jason looked back and saw unknown amount of red rats with every color crack from blue to black all staring at them with hungry looks on there face

"Run!!" Jason screamed as they took off through the front door. they ran as fast as there legs would carry them twords the treeline hearing the screeches of those creatures was like driving nails into there spines.

Meanwhile Richard had started shooting non stop and ever shot was either a kill or a handicap to the pursuers but as the got close he stoped looking through the scope and the entirety of the parking lot was covered in red, seconds later after shaking of the stupor he jumped from the tree.

This time as he landed he heard a crack in his leg and it hurt bad but looking at the red tide surging his way the pain was instantly gone. He hopped to his feet and ran ahead twords the river they followed around the outskirts to get there.

As jason and mr stien caught up they ran past richard and realized his leg was injured but had no time to stop and help hime now they just urged him forward and kept running. they made it to the river. the followed the river on the side they already were but trying to shake off the pursuit the ran as fast as the could a flew but landed in the water hard. A more audible sound came from richards leg. He had completely brocken his leg this time and could not stand. A scream from richard pierced the air just after he landed as well. His leg was at a right angel , but knot where it was supposed to but luckily it was his shin not his femur.

After scrambling to there feet they pulled Richard by the armpits as they ran up the other side and looked twords the continuous screeches. To the trios surprise the rats wouldn't enter the water. the red rats looked at them with distain in their eyes. the rats with blue cracks were right next to the water while the higher levels didn't get near. One of the blue cracked rats fell into the water and began to melt as if he was in acid.

this shocked the trio and gladness creeped over there hearts as well. "I wonder if all apocalypse creatures are afraid of water if they are that is valuable info." Richard said to the others still struck by the shock of good fortune they had just received. So shocked that he forgot the pain of his horribly broken leg."lets get out of here we can test the theory later." Jason said coming back to reality.
