Careers and nuptials

Yoongi slouched on the couch of his temporary studio, listening to tracks he created before his enlistment. He lay his head back and closed his eyes. He was engrossed in the mix playing that he did not hear the door creak open.

Jin quietly sat on one of the chairs and glanced at the piles of papers, and electronics being used by his younger friend. He smiled to himself, respecting Yoongi's dedication and passion for music. The moment they returned, Yoongi was eager to get back to the studio to write music. During their service term, he produced potential lyrics for entertainers' albums. Even with very little free time, he managed to draft ideas for when they returned.

Reluctantly, Jin tapped Yoongi's leg to announce his presence. Yoongi slightly opened one of his eyes to view the intruder. Seeing his hyung casually sitting at his studio desk, he smiled his infamous gummy grin in welcome to his friend.

"What's up?" He sat up, and placed his headphones around his neck.

"Confirming that you're coming later," Jin stated with a hint of question in his voice. He knew that Yoongi prefers the solitude of his studio, or apartment than social gatherings. Jungkook extended the invitation for Jin and Seo, to which he said he'd attend.

Sighing, Yoongi took off the headphones, and grabbed his laptop. "I said I would come, so I'll come. You know I won't flake out on you. Especially when it sounds important."

"It is."

"I'm sure it is. You wouldn't be here checking up on me if it weren't," he laughed.

"Alright. Sorry for disturbing you," Yoongi waved off Jin's comment. He rarely voices it, but he welcomes his friends' company. "We'll see you in two hours."

After agreeing to the set date, Jin left. Yoongi checked his watch, and planned to complete his current task before heading to his place to freshen up. He had been up for hours working on his music, and didn't want to neglect his hygiene any further. He found himself growing excited in anticipation of seeing his friends, even if it were not all of them. He continued his work, smiling to himself the entire time.

"You sure you don't need any help?" Eun-ha asked a busy Seo-yeon. She had arrived earlier than the others thinking she could assist her dear friend. This wasn't Seo's first time hosting, but it had been a while, and she knew that the occasion was special.

Seo-yeon graciously declined her friend's request, and carried on setting the kitchen table. She place a variety of foods, and drinks. She had taken the day off of work to prepare the food, and clean the room. Just having her friend around was enough to give her the energy she needed to complete all tasks.

"I'm positive. I'm almost done anyway," Seo-yeon proudly admired her handiwork.

The front door opened and Jungkook excitedly walked in with an armload of snacks he had attempted to convince Jin they would need. Jin walked in behind him and shrugged at Seo-yeon's questioning stare.

"Yun-Yun! I thought we could have some snacks later," he handed her the variety of sweets.

"Well, I didn't make dessert, so I suppose this will work," she giggled while handing the snacks to Jin to place in one of the cabinets. "Where's Yoongi?"

"He should be here soon. I think he went home first. He's been working all night in his studio, so I'm sure he needed to take care of daily stuff he neglected," Jungkook said, standing near the table, hungrily eyeing the different assortment of foods.

"Is he already working on an album?" Seo questioned in surprise at Yoongi's ability to produce music. No one was shocked that he got straight to work, but she hadn't realized that he was working the hours he was. It hadn't been determined which route he would take as far as his career.

Jin wrapped his arms around her waist, and rested his chin on the top of her head. Jungkook and Eun-ha exchanged grins, loving how affectionate they were. They were the only couple of the group, and over the years, even fans grew to love Jin being in a relationship. ARMY began to question when they would hear wedding bells for the jovial couple. They were disappointed when he enlisted and left still unmarried. They all agreed to announce when they wed, but keep the wedding information private.

"PD-nim said we'd discuss the plans at a later date," Jin clarified. "Eun-ha, any idea when that would be?"

"Yeah, noona. You're part of the management team, so you should know something," Jungkook added. Having worked with her over the years, he was aware that she knew upcoming announcements before any of them. On what he considered lucky days, she willing shared with him, but most times, she was tight-lipped.

"I haven't heard anything. I think they may be waiting for Jin and Seo..." She let the rest of the statement hang in the air. They all knew what she meant: the wedding.

"So when will that be?" They all turned in union to the new visitor who they did not hear enter. Yoongi smiled in greeting to everyone, and politely nodded at Eun-ha. She returned the polite nod, hoping they could get through this dinner without any disagreement.

Everyone sat down, and began to dive into the food. Jin sat at the head of the table with Seo-yeon and Eun-ha to his right, and Jungkook and Yoongi to the left. Jungkook gave Yoongi a mischievous grin before claiming he seat next to Jin, forcing Eun-ha and Yoongi to sit across from one another. She had witnessed the moment between the two, but choose to to pretend not to notice.

The two managed to get through the dinner without any arguments. The night consisted of stories of their time spent in the military, and what the others did while they were away. Eventually the topic came to the reason they gathered.

"Thank you for coming tonight," Jin began, "We don't want to put this off any further, so let's get to he purpose of this dinner."

"We will be married in two weeks," Seo-yeon shocked the three guests. They knew this was about their upcoming marriage, but they never saw the date being so early, and rushed.

"Why so fast?" Eun-ha asked.

"I don't want to ruin the mood, but should we be expecting a surprise in nine months?" Yoongi, never one to shy away from heavy topics, questioned.

"Seriously, Yoongi?" Eun-ha gasped.

"What?" He raised his eyebrow in a challenge to her. It was a valid reason that most couples would rush to marry, and even if it was embarrassing to discuss, he felt they were adults who should be open to the conversation.

"Must you be so blunt?" She sighed in annoyance.

"You're telling me you didn't think the same thing?" he once again challenged her. "I'm not judging them. I'd be happy to see them start their family. It's a plausible reason to rush the date."

"Yeah, but there's such a thing as being subtle."

"Ok, ok!" Jin cut in, "No, there will not be any surprise. We discussed this, and we would like a small gathering. Our families, you guys, and some staff we're close with. Nothing big."

"But why the rush?" Jungkook asked concerned.

Seo-yeon gave the younger man a reassuring smile, "Jin is ready to pick up where he left, and I'm not ready to stop working. We'd take a short weekend honeymoon, and then return."

"Are you sure you want to rush this?" Eun-ha was thinking from a girl's perspective. She would not want Seo to regret not having a flamboyant ceremony.

"I honestly can't wait to marry Jin," Seo-yeon loving glanced at Jin. He clasped her hand affectionately. "We've waited almost two years. We're ready."

All three gazed at their friends, and could see the undeniable devotion to one another. Although they never experienced a love like theirs, they could understand the need to rush the wedding. The separation had strengthened their relationship, and provided them an excuse to speed the ceremony.

They all toasted the upcoming nuptials. They shared ideas for the small wedding, and the anticipation grew. They ate the snacks Jungkook had brought over, and talked about everything and anything. Soon it was time to head home.

"Yoongi-ah, can you take Eun-ha home?" Jin requested. Yoongi stopped in mid-motion of putting his sweater on.

"What about Jungkook?" He dodged.

"He's heading back to the studio. He has to meet with TXT, and it's in the opposite direction."

Eun-ha heard the conversation, and rushed to interrupt. "That's ok. I can call a cab."

"That's settled," Yoongi nonchalantly stated while buttoning his sweater. He looked up to meet a frowning Jin. It was obvious that he did not approve. He raised his eyebrows at him in question.

"She's important to Seo-yeon. Please be the gentleman I know you can be."

Groaning in annoyance, he grabbed his keys, and directed an order to Eun-ha who had been gathering her bag from the kitchen.

"Eun-ha, let's go!"

Without waiting to see if she was following, he left the apartment. Jin grinned in triumph at his retreating back. Eun-ha not sure what to say and not wanting to worry her friends, reluctantly followed Yoongi.
