My decision

"Hmm," He sighed, "I didn't think you'd decide so quickly?"

"Well- yea, I did. And it's the best thing to do."

I looked away focusing on nothing in particular. Although he was seated beside me, he seemed so distant. At intervals, he would look at me and refrain from saying what he intended as if, choosing his words extra carefully. Finally, he broke the unusual silence.

"Being with your parents is a good choice. But tell me, what do you want out of life?"

"I don't understand." I gaped at him not knowing what he was driving at.

"We all dream because it's the easiest way to do the impossible. However; life, circumstances, people, time and nature shape our dreams as best it can."

“okay?” I sounded more confused still I listened.

"Sometimes, we forget. We forget what we truly want. Sometimes, we're afraid of the odds so we take the easiest way." He looked away for a moment and continued,
