CHAPTER 107: But Not ToThis Extent

His brown eyes with a tinge of gold angrily looking at them.

The golden hue shone even more with the intensity of emotion he was feeling.

"You were hurt, right? Hurt because you saw your beloved brother being killed by his lover. That's painful, yes, that's too painful. But then what about you killing your very own beloved sister?"

They heard a strong ringing in their ears when he spoke of this.

"Saphira had slept somewhere when it started. When she saw everything afterwards, she was left with no choice. Protecting us with her fire before killing her sister. What is your pain then Drake? Tell me!!"

Stormie choked, even Willow upon hearing this.

"She was hated for being her sister, hated for leaving before everything started. But not one person tried to think, what happened after it started? Where was she before it ended?"

Ridge fell on the ground as his knees suddenly gave in.

Nixon leaned on a tree near him feeling weak as well.

Drake stared blankly and could not really comprehend what was going on.

"So what right do you all have to have prejudice against her? To hate her even? What right? Because she allows you to? Because she kept quiet about the truth?"

Hunter slowly walked back before sitting on a boulder.

"Then are you going to tell me that you no longer has purpose on living because there is no point in hating? Are you giving her the burden of your life? It's your own goddamn life, live it yourself. Why are you giving others the responsibility of holding it?"

As he sat there he glared at all of them, "Grow up!!! You are not the only one losing what was precious to you. She was as well, much more than you do. But do you know why she kept going, why she so seriously decided to take everything seriously?"

He took a deep breath, "Because she don't want others to feel that pain as well. The pain of losing more people. Losing the things important to you. If she can take this seriously and end it properly then no one will lose more."

No one could look at him, they are still trying to digest everything that he was saying.

"Think properly then decide. If you still half heartedly wanted to check on her then forget it, I will not allow you to get to her. Even if that means I will use my power to make you continue the mission instead."

Meanwhile, on another island.

"Saphira!!"

Vermilion Bird was flying up in the air when Saphira went tumbling on the ground.

He rushed down as she sat up leaning on the tree she ended up hitting.

She could only cough up continuously at the impact of her tumbling over.

"Hey, don't you think we really need to leave this place already?" Vermilion Bird asked her in worry.

"How can I leave after witnessing all this?"

The whole place was filled with nothing but gigantic demonic beasts.

This island was the center of the beginning of everything.

Where the darkness erupted and they lost the elite squad.

Since such monsters appeared on Cetus Kingdom, the closest to this place, she had already prepared herself for this.

But not to this extent.

There is a vast amount of gigantic beasts, as vast as the amount of the normal sized demonic beasts.

This is truly a big problem if these beasts were to step off this island.

"Plus..." she continued looking up the sky.

"Do you really think we would still be able to step out without killing them?"

Vermilion Bird was also fighting in the air and even with his strength, it was still difficult with their number.

It would really be difficult for them to leave this place.

"Then are you planning to die?" he asked.

"Of course not, we are lessening the number, once it is lessened a lot, we will have a chance to leave. After that we can regroup with the rest."

She bitterly smiled.

In the end, she still needed to regroup with them.

She overestimated herself and came here because of her anger, now she needs to ensure that she won't die.

In the end, the real reason she returned was confirmed by her own eyes.

"This is really too much, until death they still planned to hurt everyone. Seriously Raynisha is too much," she commented before dodging another attack.

Vermilion Bird knew why she was speaking of this.

The reason she came here was to check the bodies of the elite squad.

Even with the condition of this place, they will still be able to find the remnants of the elite squad.

But there is not one bit of them.

Their bodies, nothing of such sort were found.

No matter how wrecked up the place is, Saphira's mana has a connection with Raynisha.

If she is to use this, even the littlest of dust would connect to her.

But it didn't connect to anything.

With that it is obvious that even the rest were not around.

The bodies of the elite squad were gone from this place.

"Let's go, we need to hide for now. I am almost out of energy," Saphira told him and they rushed away from that scene.

She had been doing this for about ten days now.

To the point that she even has a cave for herself as her resting place.

After getting there, Vermilion Bird looked at her with scrutinizing eyes.

"You haven't really slept at all," he berated her.

"What can I do? This is where everything started. I am no longer capable of simply sleeping whenever I want to," she answered.

She was just glad she had prepared a lot on this journey, food, water and potions.

But even these things are about to be gone.

She did try checking on the island if there is still something edible but there was none.

But what does she expect?

This place was filled with nothing but Miasma.

"This is a stupid question, but do you think they will have the courage to come here if they know I am here?"
