CHAPTER 242: The Truth Is...

Saphira looked up stunned, her hand moved on its own.

Hunter was about to reach out to her but her hand had slapped his hand away.

Not only her but Hunter and Elizabeth were visibly shock as well.

There was only the three of them in there.

"Uhmmm... I didn't mean to," she said with uncertainty.

Hunter stared at her.

She sighed and smiled, "I'll go and rest then, I guess you were right I must have been too tired."

He sighed and placed his hand on top of her head.

"Our mission is important but your body is as important, you already know that and you have instructed all of us regarding that."

She smiled, "Yup, I really do need that sleep."

She shook her head with a laugh before walking towards their resting area.

She went ahead and lay down, closed her eyes and rested.

'You are not resting at all,' Vermilion Bird spoke.

'Shut up, Minmin,' she rebuked.

Light simply watched.

Vermilion Bird scoffed and closed his eyes.

Over the past weeks, her constant companion was actually these two.

She barely played around with the others, they do their own things as well.

Despite having difficulties, she still tried to rest.

She was truly shock at the way she acted towards Hunter a while ago and was silently reprimanding herself for her attitude.

On the other hand, she didn't know that she was the topic of the other six.

Or to be precise, she, Hunter and Elizabeth.

"There's changes right?" Stormie asked.

The six of them made it to a different place for training.

They knew Saphira wanted to be alone while Hunter has his tail.

Now they grouped up and started talking.

The otehrs loked at her as if what she was asking was the most obvious of things.

"Hunter doesn't seem to realize it though," Nixon added.

"I think so to," Felix followed.

Ridge looked at the three of them, "Most of the time, those who are involved would really not realize what was going on until they themselves have reached a certain limit."

The three looked at him with furrowed brows.

"We are talking about Saphira and the other two right?" Stormie asked him.

"Yes, why?" Ridge answered looking innocent.

Drake almost rolled his eyes at his reply.

To him and Willow, it was obvious that he was also referring to these three.

No, more like to these two because Felix was well aware of his emotions but he was unaware of the other two's feelings.

"I think Saphira is well aware but she chose not to acknowledge it," Willow commented.

"That is indeed true and somehow it shows in her actions," Stormie said.

They of course noticed how more and more time were spent on her own.

She would usually spend it with Hunter, either talking about what to do next or some other training.

But this time around, she was doing things on her own giving the same old excuses that Hunter needs to watch over Elizabeth.

And the way she interacts with Elizabeth was very much limited, especially that last two weeks.

"Could it be that she had started hating Elizabeth? She was seriously keeping a distance between the two of them," Nixon commented.

Willow and Stormie looked at one another, they have not informed these guys about what Saphira have told them.

They weighed it on their minds whether it was appropriate but thinking that Saphira have told them, then that means she wasn't really hiding it either.

"What is it you two? Do you know something?" Ridge asked seeing their exchanges.

"Well..."

Stormie looked at Willow, in turn she took it to herself to speak up.

"The truth is..."

Willow slowly told the four of them of what Saphira have said, her story about Elise.

"So you mean that she knew Elise was a special human but they left her on the orphanage?" Felix was utterly shocked.

"She didn't disclose about the connection of Elise with a phoenix. She also had her keep quiet about it and they had planned for her to only have the ability of self regeneration. Having her live a quiet unnoticed life is better than announcing that she is special. More people would want to get her. But no one have expected that the then kind head of the poison building was actually a twisted old man."

She had tried to ask herself the same question that Felix had just asked and this is the answer she came up with.

"No one must have expected that she would be found out. Fifi was the only phoenix in the empire back then. No one should have noticed unless someone from the orphanage was actually under the head of poison building's instructions then surely it was seriously inevitable. Especially knowing that the orphanage was under the seven families," Drake added after some thoughts.

There are still so many shady things back then when they were children, this must be a part of it.

Everywhere so many things could happen, it was a vast world after all.

"Then the reason for her distancing herself from Elizabeth is because she was feeling guilty," Ridge blinked.

Who would have thought that the three of them had been entangled even before they met up as trainees for the platinum knight's order.

Then they fell silent.

They have just realized that Saphira had been there all throughh out their lives.

"Isn't it that even in my case, she was there?" Nixon commented, thinking about it.

He wasn't comfortable speaking of this but the sudden thought made him blurt it out.

The others looked at him before they nodded in agreement but no one lingered on the topic of it.

Even if it was Nixon, it was still a taboo to talk about it.

That is how serious it was the, the thing that traumatized him.

"She seemed like the guardian angel of all of you, whether intentional or not," Felix commented as he listened to all of them.
