CHAPTER 244: I Did Call Out To Her

"We can apologize then, we have taken that into consideration. We were worried about the princess after all."

Gwen's words seemed like she was apologizing but she had emphasized the fact that they are here for the princess and not the mission.

"Then do you wish to escort the princess back on your own?"

The other six glanced at one another, Saphira was really on edge.

"Saphira," Hunter called.

Saphira glanced at him but didn't say anything towards him.

"I only wish to have all of you safe, the same goes for my group."

Gwen didn't say a thing, she felt that they were on the right because Hunter have reprimanded her by her words that greatly offended them.

The king told them that the order of the seven myths will be by their side until the kingdom.

Now she was suddenly saying that she will leave them on their own?

She was thinking too highly of herself.

"Then..."

Saphira started seeing the look on Gwen's face.

She turned to Hunter and continued.

Her continuation was a shock to all of the rest.

They were almost the same words she used towards the seven back in Cetus Kingdon but this time around she was saying it towards Hunter.

"You shall take reign and lead the group."

It was fine if he had reprimanded her but it became the spark for the other people to actually disregard her position and act arrogantly towards her.

She rarely gets mad at herself but right now, she felt indignant at the fact that she was embarrassed by her very own vice commander.

Before Hunter could say anything, she turned and left.

There's no point staying when you are already in the modd, she'd rather take her time alone to calm herself and get out of her irritated mood.

Hunter was completely shock at this, he didn't expect for her to actually lash out.

"It is your words vice commander. After all she was right and she was the commander."

He turned towards Ridge and he was even more shock to see that Ridge had a dark look on his face.

Ridge didn't wait for him to reply either and sinmply left.

Hunter tried to think carefully about what had just happened, Saphira was right about the numbers and the additional non fighting people.

She was also right about the fact that they still have their main mission at hand.

But she was harsh on her words and he couldn't help but to call out to her.

Since he was looking at her he didn't look at Gwen and when he did now, he realized what had just happened.

He frowned, this was not like him at all.

To actually miss things that is pertaining to her.

Seeing as Gwen was simply looking at the path that Saphira took with her eyes showing that she was scoffing towards her, Hunter opened his mouth.

"I did call out to her..."

Gwen looked at him when she felt coldness coming from him.

"But you are only a mere aide while she is a commander, even if you two came from different places. There are still positions to consider. Her words may have been harsh but it was still true that you brought another two non fighting people."

Gwen lowered her head, she really did feel that she was right when Hunter sided with her.

"Why don't you look at your princess? Does she looked like she wasn't cared at all even without her maids?" he asked gesturing to Elizabeth beside him.

"You should go and acquaint yourself with them. They are your people after all, I'll be off for a bit."

"But..."

She held on to the hem of his shirt.

"Don't worry," he placed his hand on top her hers.

"They are your people, they won't harm you. No matter what happens, they are here to protect you. I will come back in a bit."

Elizabeth could only watch him leave.

She hesitated and took a step towards the direction he went to but was instead stopped by Willow and Stormie.

"You really need to acquaint yourself with your people. No matter how scared you are, you have to face it because that is who you are."

Elizabeth lowered her eyes, even if she didn't want to, she really has no other choice for they were right.

And so she faced those who have arrived and smiled at them with uncertainty.

Since Willow and the rest were still here, she is still at ease despite not knowing who these people are.

They did say that they came for her so she must face them properly.

On the other hand, the rest actually sighed in relief.

At the very least, even just for a bit those two would talk.

Because Saphira wouldn't speak about her grievance while Hunter seemed to have lost his intelligence somewhere that he ended up not noticing the changes in her.

More like his guilt must have been eating him up to the point that his past is now overlapping with the present.

Nevertheless, they really need to have these two talk.

As for how it will turn out, they can only wish that it won't make things turn for the worst.

"I just hope Saphira would try tand speak up for herself, she always tends to actually bottle everything up. This is a good change of pace for her," Willow sighed.

Admittedly, something else shocked them again today.

It was Ridge who showed anger towards Hunter.

He rarely does this, more like he respects Hunter enough that he never gets mad or shows disagreement towards Hunter.

This meant that he really isn't approving of the current condition Hunter is.
