CHAPTER 263: I Had Hidden My Trueself

After eating, they brought Saphira at a nearby river where the air was fresh and allows one mind to remain calm and clear.

She looked at the flowing river and the birds that fly from time to time.

A smile appeared on her lips, she didn't know if it was engraved in her but right now she can tell that she loves these kinds of places.

As if knowing what was going on in her mind.

"One of the things that you love the most is nature," Hunter spoke beside her.

She looked at him and she could see the seriousness in his eyes.

"I don't know why you have suddenly lost your memory but I will tell you honestly that I can tell, part of the reason for it was because of me."

She furrowed her brows and looked at him in confusion.

"I wanted to apologize to you once you wake up, yet who would have thought that this would happen," he chuckled bitterly.

Saphira chose to stay quiet and listen to him.

That is what her gut feeling is telling her.

To simply listen.

"But before we get to the reason why I am obligated to apologize, I will tell you who you are and what we all are currently doing."

They all have no idea whether her memory loss is temporary or not but right now, they needed her.

Not only because she has the light ability.

Not only because they needed her strength in fighting.

Not only because they needed her for the barrier.

But most of all, because just as she had spoken about him as her last pillar, they needed her because she was also their pillar.

She gave them strength in more ways than one.

Upon realizing the current her, they could feel tremendous pressure and sadness enveloping them.

They could even feel their legs going weak at the thought that Saphira had actually forgotten about them.

Memories of the time they spent as children together with the memories they spent after they reunited.

Every single one, Saphira's smile and anger kept replaying on their minds.

Her smile that allowed their broken hearts, from losing the elite squad they idolize back then, to be slowly mended.

She allowed them to vent their anger and pain on her without an ounce of hatred for them.

Her anger that made them realize the stupid mistakes they were making.

Saphira became like a punching bag for them to vent out from the get go but she only gets mad when they are not doing the right thing.

She accepted everything to the point where they had forgotten to think about her own emotions.

Was she really not hurt? Was she really okay?

In the end she broke down.

And she broke down not just for herself but even for them.

All of them ended up thinking the same thing, 'She must have been very tired.'

With a deep breath, Hunter slowly told her everything she needed to know.

Her facial features changed a lot withitn the time it took him to tell her the whole story and when he reached the point where she broke down the night before, Saphira couldn't help but to put her hands over her chest.

'I see, so those contradicting feelings were all because of what I feel towards him.'

With everything that was said, she knew she must have loved him deeply.

To the point that she was jealous.

But she seemed to have a stubborn personality that she chose to actually bottle everything up.

When she heard him say that she had not cried for more than nine years, she was shock.

Then he told her the reason and she was even more shock that she was acting too stubbornly to the point that she actually ended up having a psychological barrier.

"I see," she slowly said with that same clear voice, not too soft but not too loud.

"And that is why part of the reason why you have forgotten or maybe most of the reason that you have forgotten about everything might be because of me."

She looked at him and his golden brown eyes stared directly at her ruby ones.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry I couldn't protect you properly. I'm sorry I was too weak that I ended up hurting you because I couldn't overcome my own past. I had promised you over and over again but in the end, I left you alone, I hurt you, I let you be in pain. I'm really sorry Saphira."

He sighed, "I don't know if this is temporary or not and I don't know if the you with memories would actually forgive me but please allow me to apologize properly."

Saphira could feel her heart throb seeing his pained look.

She reached out to hold one of his hands, "As I listen to you and feel my own heart, I could tell that I must have been very tired."

Hunter listened to her, the rest who was quiet all along, looked at her.

"The way you spoke about me and my actions, I can infer that I had hidden it but I must have been very very tired from the get go. If I may be so bold, I must have been tired since I woke up from my coma back when we were eight."

Her words shocked them greatly.

"You said I acted normally, laughing and teasing and being the cheerful person that I am. You said I get mad and showed my emotions because of the light ability in me or because I just really wanted to show my emotions at that moment..."

She paused as she looked for the answer in her heart, for the things she must have hidden while being with them all this time.

Knowing how stubborn she was, she would not wish to let them know of this.

But right now, she was different, she has no memories and no desire.

It feels like she was currently the inner self that had always wanted to come out and speak what she really feels.

"But I think that wasn't all... I think I had hidden my true self instead..."
