CHAPTER 332: Inherit Any Of Your Titles

Pin drop silence followed, they were all waiting.

"We..."

Saphira looekd at her friends before looking back at their families.

"Are not inheriting any of your titles."

"..."

"..."

"What exactly do you mean?" Asherton was the one who asked.

They all felt that they just heard something that is completely absurd.

"Just as I said grandfather, we don't wish to inherit any of your titles," Saphira said with her innocent smile.

"Hunter?" Reginald looked towards Hunter.

"Her decision is my decision father. And so is the rest."

"Why the sudden decision?" Felissa asked this time.

Well, the rest could speak with their children but these two are different. They are crowned as the crown prince and crown princess, they are to be the emperor and empress of the empire.

"We are being disrespectful and we clearly understand that. But mother... No..."

Hunter stepped forward and knelt before Felissa and Reginald. Saphira followed him, then the rest did the same behind them.

"Your majesty, the emperor and your majesty, the empress. We your humble servants wished to revoke our titles as crown prince and crown princess of the empire. And for the heads, to revoke our titles as the heir of the houses."

Not just their parents but the rest of the family members were utterly shocked.

They were just joking around moments ago, playing around with one another and then suddenly this?

Isn't this too absurd and incomprehensible?

"Explain yourself," Reginald turned serious.

"We have done everything we can for the empire and the world. Threw away our childhood and threw away our freedom. We followed everything that was made for us to do. Without complaint we stepped forward and risked our lives for people who didn't see our worth."

Hunter looked up before continuing, "And so we thought it was time to think for ourselves once we ended this war and win the battles up ahead."

"We wish to be selfish this time around. Not having the responsibility of watching over the people of this land," Saphira continued.

"We have done more than enough as to prolong the lives of the people. We have fought battles after battles. That this time..."

She stood up and the rest followed, "We want to live for ourselves."

When their eyes met the eyes of their parents and family, all of them realized the reality of the burden they placed on these children.

Despite hearing their complaints once or twice during the video conference from the other lands that they visited, they only felt bad and thought to themselves that they didn't do good towards their children.

But as of this moment, it truly sunk into them that they really didn't care for their children at all.

They actually left them all to fend for themselves.

Their love felt superficial at this point in time and they felt embarrassed in looking at their children straight in their eyes.

"If we are hurting you at this moment, we will apologize for the rest of our lives but we have become tired of the pact made by our ancestors and the heaviness of our mission. So please revoke our positions."

Her face and voice were resolute, it was the same as saying that she wasn't asking them for permission but was instead telling them to revoke it.

Looking at her, even the heads could feel the authority surrounding her.

Thinking about it, at this moment, wasn't Saphira the strongest person out there? The one who was actually comparable with the dark lord?

After coming back and doing her experiments with their manas, the aura surrounding her was far stronger.

"We wish to leave and decide things for ourselves," she said with finality.

This time, her tone changed into a gentle one. And the expression on her face was the same, she was smiling at them with a hint of begging. It seems she realized she came too strong and have disrespected and hurt them more than how she thought she would by speaking up.

Her friends bowed their heads, "Please."

"D- Don't beg."

It was Carmilla who ended up answering.

She couldn't take it, the fact that they have to beg just to have their own lives back.

"Don't beg towards your family," she repeated.

Reginald and Felissa snapped out of their own shock and started speaking as well.

"That's right, you must not beg. We never thought about anything. What we dumped on you and what we expected from you. And... if you do so wish to leave after everything."

Reginald paused and looked at the rest, he made eye contact and once he was sure they all think the same as he is now, he turned back to look at them.

"Then we shall revoke your positions and let you live the way you want. Whatever you want."

"Just..."

Felissa speak up after him.

"Just come back home when you felt like it. We would very much love that."

The rest nodded their heads and started speaking up their minds.

They walked towards their children and talked to them about how they have bottled everything they felt.

"I guess, I'll have to have a talk with you Gideon later on..."

Reginald looked at Gideon with uncertainty, because he understood it now as well that he had dumped so much on this son of his while Hunter was training away.

Gideon smiled and looked at Saphira before shaking his head.

"I am willing to take up the position of the crown prince, father."

Not just Reginald and Felissa but even Hunter was shock.

Hunter looked at Saphira and she looked back at him with apology.

"I'm sorry I... took the liberty of speaking to him. I know you were hesitating a lot," she said.

Hunter was hesitating about their decision when they talked about their future and realized that they actually felt the same as Ridge back then.

Because he felt bad that he stayed away for too long that Gideon took up most of his duties.

Hunter shook his head and looked back at Gideon, Gideon was looking at him and chuckled seeing that he was actually apologetic.

"What kind of face are you showing now? I told you didn't I? I love you so much that I can do this much for you knowing how much you have sacrificed already."
