While Jacob was still sleeping, Timothy spent the remainder of the night cloning every item in his possession so that at the very least, the two brothers could have a better chance at survival. Unfortunately, when he cloned his nearly broken sword, he saw that the cloned version was not a higher quality.
"From the look on your face, you might have wished that if you were to clone a broken item, that the clone would be a brand new one. Is it not already heaven defying enough for you to be able to clone every item you own regardless of the quality of the item?" Master Sei asked Timothy while shaking his head. Would it not be a complete overkill if his disciple could just buy many broken items, restore them by simply cloning and reselling for a massive profit, or even use said treasure?
Timothy could not help but to inwardly laugh because he realized that what he was thinking would be a bit too much. However, he would still continue to try and experiment more with his cloning ability over time, because there was a chance that an ability could either evolve or have a subset of uses only usable depending on the user's own cultivation stage.
Still, at the moment as long as he was able to survive this ordeal, Timothy would have a decent head start moving forward. It was unfortunate that he had to leave Bark Kingdom due to the circumstances, but with his back now completely against the wall, it may unlock his potential instead of suppressing him due to the difference between Bark Kingdom and Stone Kingdom.
After counting all of the pills and elixirs that George and the rest of the group had gifted to him, Timothy realized that there was enough for both him and Jacob to reach at least Elementary level seven if they both took them evenly as Body Refiners. However, Timothy was still debating whether or not to help Jacob in trying to become a dual cultivator. It was not too unusual for an expert to have a specialty between the two, while still spending some spare time growing in the other.
It would not necessarily make Jacob's strength increase drastically at the current time, but if he were to stick with it long enough, it would allow him to compete with others above him in cultivation just as Timothy felt that he could take Jacob down even though he was only a Elementary level three Energy Refinement and an Elementary level four Body Refinement expert. If he was only a Body Refinement expert, Jacob would be able to easily dominate him simply by being one level above him.
As the sun began to rise symbolizing a new day, Jacob started to toss and turn in his sleep before finally waking himself up. He was very quick to notice besides the fact that he was hungry for breakfast, that Timothy put up some barriers on the outside of their new temporary home. He felt rather impressed, but he decided even during the tournament that he should not underestimate him.
"Oh so you are finally awake?" Timothy said as he began cooking two small pieces of meat. Since the two were cultivators, they were able to in extreme situations, live off of the energy and Qi in their bodies for at least three days without any food or water. However, they still had enough food to eat two decently portioned meals every day for just over a year between the two of them so Timothy was not going to make himself or Jacob suffer so early on.
As the meat was cooking over the small fire, Timothy took the time to explain to Jacob about the barrier he had put up and how everything worked so that he would not be confused if he was being chased down. The barrier would absolutely keep out an ordinary level one demon beast, but as far as those with stronger bloodlines or higher leveled, the barrier could only be used to delay the inevitable for a small period of time.
Knowing this still made Jacob relax slightly. Up until this point even when he was sleeping he could not help but to remain tense. Timothy did not hold it against him, because it had only been one day since Jacob had fought a demon beast for the first time and the only combat experience he had was taking part in the tournament, where he was not pushed anywhere close to his limits.
"I think it would be a good idea to check out what is on the other side of this mountain. According to my map, it states that there should be quite a few demon beasts. I will leave the choice up to you, but I think for now just to scout, only one of us should head over. This way, there will be less of a chance that we would be detected." Timothy told Jacob after passing him over his breakfast.
"You can go ahead and do that because I want to try to do things to make this new home of ours a little more comfortable." Jacob told Timothy before taking a big bite of the meat. "I think that I might be able to handle working on making beds and a nice table out of some of the wood and other materials I brought over."
"Sounds like a good plan to me, I just hope that on the other side of the mountain will be countless demon beasts. As long as we can have enough opponents to kill, not only will we be able to earn more by selling the corpses, but we will also continue to gain some combat experience." Timothy replied after popping the entire piece of meat in his mouth.
"Good luck." Jacob told Timothy as he withdrew all of the materials he wanted to use from a grade one storage ring. There was no reason to be worried about his brother, because he was always one step ahead and could potentially even take him down if they were to spar while giving it their all.
