Chapter 79

Looking at his fists that were full of blood and bruise marks and the demon beast's body back and forth for some time, Jacob began to tear up. He did not know how he was capable of causing such damage and being so unrestrained with his strength. He was not crying due to what he had done, he was crying because in this moment he felt like a monster. It was not until he finally looked towards Timothy's fainted body, that he finally stopped to head over.

Just as Timothy did many months ago, Jacob began working diligently in order to help Timothy heal his body. He did not have any wounds, so all Jacob could do was make some medicine following a simple recipe and pouring it into Timothy's mouth as he laid down on his bed. The battle was in fact won on that day, but neither Timothy or Jacob would ever feel like it was a true victory.

Two days after the battle, Timothy woke up. He felt pain all over his body, but as long as he circulated his energy properly, the pain seemed like it would only be temporary. He thought that he would see Jacob, but instead, on the table within the small crater was a letter. "Do not worry my disciple, Jacob is in good health. Everything will be explained in the letter." Master Sei told Timothy with a smile on his face. He was clearly happy that his disciple was now awake.

"Master, I will not be able to get my body up for at least another hour. Can you just tell me where Jacob went before I read the letter?" Timothy asked Master Sei as he gripped his left elbow with his right hand. The demon beast hit him on his left side, so he was still in quite a bit of pain in that area.

"Jacob felt that it was time for him to head back to Bark Kingdom. He was under the impression over the course of this time that he would be able to handle any obstacle and even flourish during this journey with you. But unfortunately, he did not realize what happens when a cultivator enters the Berserk State when their minds are not necessarily ready for such a thing to happen."

"The reason he left, was because he felt the need to find a proper teacher in order to help him through this time of need now that he feels like a monster. Do not worry, in the letter he mentioned that he would make his way over to the Holy Sword Institute and ask Jack's master for a recommendation so that he could join the Relic Church."

"If you were to ask me, I think that the Relic Church would be a wonderful place for him to be brought into. They would have the time and patience to help him continue growing as a cultivator, but the experience may also make him much more humble. In the future, I see him being one of their pillars so you had best forget about causing any trouble within Bark Kingdom for a while." Master Sei told Timothy, now with his smile gone and replaced with a serious look.

It felt like many years had gone by, now that Jacob was not around but it only took roughly one week for Timothy to recover enough to begin cultivating once more in order to solidify his cultivation based foundation. The battle with the level two demon beast did allow Timothy to increase his understanding of one of the mysteries of the earth element.

Once he was confident enough, Timothy took a trip over the mountain once more to collect the corpse of the level two demon beast that Jacob was able to kill. Luckily for him, the other level two demon beast paid him no mind and was rather welcoming of Timothy because thanks to him and Jacob, it could now do what it wished with the gigantic territory.

Timothy felt like eventually, some cultivators of higher stages would make a trip over to get rid of the demon beast and to set up new talismans or maybe would go as far as building a small base within the mountain so that they could further advance on behalf of the Bark Kingdom. When this would occur in the future, the demon beast would regret not killing Jacob and Timothy right away.

Since he was close to being able to use his earth armor technique, Timothy decided to remain in the comfort of the mountain as he worked hard to accomplish being able to execute it and keeping it from falling apart for an extended period of time. He was in a somewhat better position as far as traveling to Stone Kingdom since he just had to worry about himself, but the danger was indeed increased since he would not have Jacob to utilize during battle from here on out.

And so, Timothy trained very hard and although after one month of working hard, he was unable to make any advancements in his cultivation, he was finally able to wear his earth armor so long as he had enough energy in his body to sustain it. Due to this change, Timothy felt like he should use a weapon moving forward and just using his energy to focus on defending himself.

With him thinking more about how he wanted to approach combat, Timothy chose to instead of using a sword, to instead use a pole type weapon. Not only was it more unique which would give him an advantage against those not used to facing someone who specialized in a pole type weapon, but it would also give him a longer attack range which would be both helpful in one on one and one against group battles.
