Assessment

"So Red, can you give me some of the juiciest bits of info on Relian?Since I'm new, I literally don't know anything."

Justice was trailing behind, speeding up every now and then to keep up.

"Hmm. Well there is a lot. The lore and nations can wait, you need to learn about gameplay."

Justice gave a nod, though she was eager she didn't show it too much.

"So let's start with your race and class. Obviously they determine base gear and weapons, but they also determine future prospects and types of traits you get. Take fighter, if you want to become a tank then you need defense traits. You can also go for damage and get offense traits. Traits are limited though. We get a maximum of ten, though we can trash old ones if we get any that are new. Old ones can grow though, but it's during dire fights. You have to really need it... stupid A.I."

Justice stifled a laugh.

"You haven't evolved one?"

Red threw her hands up.

"Course not! I'm actually decent at my job, so I don't get those chances."

Justice trudged along, though they didn't seem to be getting close to a town.

"How about affiliation? That can make or break your character too, right?"

"Yup. If you are basically neutral at all times it'll make things even more difficult. Every class is available for Neutral players, except for a select few. Divine Oracle, or Death Assassin are examples. If you fall out of your range, we'll you lose the class and all abilities from it."

"What about active skills? Like... attacks and magics?"

Red looked up, but just tapped her hood.

"Those kinds of things come from the class you're using. I have a skill called that makes my attacks more accurate on the target. It's not specific to Bounty Hunters, but it's something I get while I'm this class. Fighter should have... like a buff and a basic attack. You can check them in your skill tab."

[Fighter's Guard--Raises defense for three minutes. 30% boost.

Quick Slash--Strong frontal attack based on speed. 150% basic attack power.]

"Huh. They're not that good, but they're better than starting with nothing."

"Oh. Another thing, affiliation can get weird. We have the three basics, good and neutral as well as evil. Good and Evil deal an extra fifty percent damage to each other, but Neutral is just that. Neutral, unless otherwise stated. Good also can't attack Good, but Evil can hurt anyone. They can even break laws in cities if they have the proper build."

Justice began to think, then her question popped.

"What's an Admin?"

"Oh. Special authority players. The A.I. treats certain people special, thinking they have serious potential that can make the game even more enjoyable. Best to stay away, the four Admins are pretty horrible. You've got a Dragonkin in the mountains, a human in the player kingdom, a fairy in the Divine Forest, and the most annoying one. Symphony, a special doll made by dwarves. Sort of an automaton, but since she's a player... yea. Admins suck. They're literally blessed by the game based on their personality."

"Then... what would you expect from an Admin given revenge based skills and abilities?"

Red stopped in her tracks, looking up at Justice.

"Vengeance Knight. Scary, scary class. No one has it, thankfully, but an Admin based on revenge? They would get it hands down. Only problem, what kind of person would seriously get that kind of luck? Getting Admin is already rare, but what kind of trauma would you have to seek revenge?"

'Heh... you don't want to know.'

Justice placed her hand over her eye, then tried to walk around Red.

"Not so fast, sweetie. You're wanted in Rhost, so I'm getting paid today."

"Figures. Just kill me already, I'll go respawn."

"Respawn? You're wanted! You'll be put in prison!"

Justice sighed and teased her hair a little.

"One last question, time is two to one in here... right? So six hours in game is... three IRL?"

Red nodded, her lip twitching.

"Alright. So I've been in here for about a hundred minutes? Cool-"

She was cut off as a sudden large blast rushed passed her.

"Dammit. I was too hasty, couldn't land the shot."

Red was holding a large rifle, nearly as big as her, and was setting it to fire again. Justice smiled.

"So... what's your affiliation?"

"Huh? Neutra- huh? Evil... wait you were innocent?! Rhost put up a bogus bounty?! Agh... dammit. I'll still get-"

KASHWING

Justice felt the blade hit, activating as Red became distracted. Red moved away, her eyes alarmed.

"You're such a low level, how the hell did you even do that much with that attack?!"

"Well... revenge is kinda my thing. I may be weak, but I won't be easy to kill!"

Red smirked, her lips showing off some sharp teeth.

"You hit me for about a tenth of my health. Do you think you can kill me that easily? One shot, you're gone."

Justice launched forward, feeling the power of surround her. Though she couldn't see a cooldown, she could practically feel it as she threw a few basic slashes at Red. They missed constantly, her speed heavily lower than Red's.

"Too easy."

Red fired her gun, though a pair of sudden blasts from nearby changed the outcome.

CHEW, CHEW

A strange hole appeared below Red, while another below Justice. In an instant, the two swapped places in time for Red's bullet to strike her directly in the head.

"I'll get you... for this!"

Red vanished into particles, though Justice earned nothing.

"Well... what the hell?"

From nearby, a soft voice came from the trees.

"I couldn't just let her hurt such a pretty girl."
