"Good afternoon, sir."

Bryan looked up and was surprised to see Bernadette standing beside him like a stone statue.

"Good afternoon." Bryan replied.

"Sir, here are the results of the follow up investigations you needed." She handed over the files that were in her hand, "there're also a few photos attached."

"Thanks, Bernadette, you're really efficient." Bryan commended. He wasn't bothered about the girl's swift change in attitude, he was used to that.

"Is there anything else?" She asked.

"Not yet. I'll let you know if I need your help."

After Bernadette left, Bryan began to flip through the files. It was a compilation from the four people who were in charge of monitoring the movements of the four doctors.

Bryan went over the files one after the other. There was nothing out of the ordinary; the doctors seemed normal from the observation so far.

Although they all seemed normal, he still wanted to know why they'd purchase halothane when they knew that their licenses had been revoked.

Unless they were secretly doing something shady...

It might not concern his primary investigation, but Bryan decided that he would not let them off the hook.

"These three seem clean." Bryan shrugged and picked up the fourth file with the name Dr. Neil.

He flipped through it and became excited. This was more than an abnormality.

As Bryan read through the file, he couldn't help but stifle a laugh from time to time.

He was amused by the good doctor's daily routine.

Teaching imaginary class?

He seems to have an affinity for lectures, Bryan mocked.

He found this more entertaining than any TV show.

Another thing that almost cracked his ribs was the 5 minutes of laughing session.

How can a man in his right senses put aside five minutes just to laugh?

Oh, right, the doctor wasn't in his right senses.

Bryan forced himself to stop as he noticed he was beginning to laugh like a maniac.

As he read over the bizarre laughing section, his mind kept ringing with only three words;

The Smiling Psychopath.

Bryan found a lot of semblance there.

No doubt he had already been briefed about this doctor, how he lost his license and was sent to a correction Centre. Now he wasn't too sure if the hospital made the right decision to release him.

According to Bernadette's report, this cycle of life repeats almost six times each day.

As Bryan read, he was puzzled about the last bit of information.

The doctor had left his house around 5:30 p.m. two days ago. This went against his cyclic schedule. He also had a completely different personality while walking along the street.

Does he have a dissociative identity disorder?

Another thing which gave Bryan some food for thought was the fact that the doctor actually paid a visit to a rich business man.

What does this mean? And what has this got to do with the "exorcist"?

Was he hired as a secret doctor by this family?

That would be totally insane. They have enough money needed to have the services of top doctors, why would they need him?

Are they the ones sponsoring him?

Probably. They might be the ones using him to buy the drugs which they use for unknown reasons.

Bryan kept eliminating all possibilities in his head as he tried to find a logical explanation for this.

After a while he sighed and muttered, "In this life, logic does not matter..." This was the most popular phrase he had heard from Anna back then.

The doctor stayed at that house for over twenty minutes.....

The first idea that hit Bryan was to hack into the computers and pull out that discussion, but then again, he refrained from doing so.

This wasn't his zone and he knew it. He would have to consider another approach.

Deep down, Bryan felt like he had missed a very important point.

What could that be?

He closed his eyes and tried to recollect what he was neglecting but couldn't figure it out.

After a while, Bryan took a sheet of paper and began drafting the story development:

...after following Dr. Neil for four days, he was seen visiting a rich man. Much similar to what happened in Wakeville; the rich man is backing him up.

After series of investigation, the police discovered that the connection the doctor had with the rich family ran deeper than they could even imagine. Slowly, the doctor reveals that he isn't the killer but that the killer hides in the shadows, behind the rich family, after all efforts, the doctor is silenced forever...."

Bryan folded the paper and shredded it. This was madness!

He could vaguely guess how this would turn out....
