"Wait!" the lawyer said and rose from his seat with a sigh, "I wasn't the one who drafted your father's will."

"What?" Bryan and Bernadette asked in surprise. It was insane to think about it.

"Just what I said, I didn't draft your father's will. In short he just came to me with an already drafted will and asked me to keep it."

Bernadette's jaw dropped and she didn't know what else to think about as her mind went blank for a few seconds. The office was spinning pretty fast and it seemed like she had become weightless.

"What happened back then?" Bryan held Bernadette and asked the question. The lawyer pointed to the chairs indicating for them to sit down.

When they sat he said, "Your father was my best friend since we were in college. We went through a lot together and we had each other's back. After we graduated he made me his personal lawyer but that's just on the surface.
