If Mona was not seated she would have fallen to the ground It should be noted that the only eligible candidate for marriage in the Savet household was their legally insane son. He was the only son of the family of the last of three generations and so the family was desperate to find a wife to bear a male child that would carry on their line.

After years of mistreatment, Mona shouldn’t be shocked by her family’s behavior right now. But somehow a tiny part of her heart still had hope that maybe one day they would love or at least like her even a little bit. So she worked hard at her chores and never complained even when she went hungry sometimes. When she had to sleep in the cold damp attic when she had to work the field from sun up to sundown when she had to do laundry until her hand burned from the bleach. She continued on with the relentless hope that one day her parents would look at her and say good job, Mona.
