Chapter 9

Since Ceri was awarded a scholarship in N town, it was easy for Mr Mariba to send her to live with his sister and thus she escaped being ostracized in the community though she still could not come back.

She was lonely and lost, but as she started feeling the life growing in her, she became determined to rise beyond her circumstances and vowed to maybe change the way girls were treated in circumstances that were beyond their control.

She conceived in a foreign country, under drug influence and thus had no way to track who the father was but that would not hold her back.

She graduated on time with interior design despite missing a few months in the first semester when she gave birth and a job offer from Esta Corp the top design company in the country.

Unlike the belief in their community and with most of the people she came across during her pregnancy, Metta was a blessing and not a hindrance to her career.

The counselor had given her options, telling her in her case she could abort, give away the child at birth but none of these seemed right to her. They were selfish! Yes at time she dis think "what about me" "why me?" But there was that voice of reason "what did the innocent child do?" "Is it his fault that you were raped?" "Is it fair to deny him/her a chance to live? Or to live without knowing its parent?"

Anyway despite all this, Ceri pulled through and God was she glad that she did!! She could not imagine life without Metta.
