"Welcome to The Legend of Dark Fate"
"You have landed in an abandoned factory used to create toys. You have to find a map that will guide you to your opponent and clear the level"
"A torch and no lights" Player One groaned, throwing his head back. He has dressed in orange highlighted clothes and a yellow helmet.
Waiting for his partner to join, Player One decided to have a look around the factory. Although he would never start the mission before his partner, the game put most of its focus on teamwork. But then again, he could always look.
As the instructions read, the factory was abandoned, which meant it hadn't been used for a long time. Player One raised his gaze to look above. The iron roof looked solid, but the same can't be said about the rest of the structure.
Something struck Player One. It had been mostly such torn down places which were picked up for the games. Lowering down the gaze, Player One froze upon a toy doll. A doll that seemed a little familiar. But where...where has he seen it.
"Your teammate is going to join you in

"As much as I should be annoyed by your presence, I am glad you are a guy" Player Two declared as soon as he joined. Just like Player one, Player Two was dressed in a highlighted color, the only difference was the color reversed. A highlighted yellow dress and orange helmet.
"What the hell? Did they dress me in the color of puke? Do they even know who I am" Player Two cursed and have already started walking with Player One?
"You look like you're in an awful mood. Coz it's mostly me who is in a complaining mood." Player One remarked on being careful with where he steps his foot.
"It's just a factory. Have you never been in one?" Player Two seemed more familiar with the factory and was observing everything with his caution and his expert eyes.
"Nuh-uh" Player One didn't say much as talking about things like this may trigger something.
*Trigger something? Trigger what?*
Player One stopped moving pondering upon that thought.
"You alright?" Player Two turned and asked, holding an almost broken doll.
"Why didn't I think about it?" Player Two muttered to himself moving in a particular direction. Player One shook his head and followed.
"Wait...where are we going?" Still being careful with every step Player One walked behind the other player.
"Do you know who keeps maps?"
"Pirates" Player One whispered as Player Two was already digging in a scattered bunch of boats.
"Bingo!!" Player Two waved the map and grinned like a boy with a new toy.
Player One almost giggled but stopped himself as it would look weird for a guy to giggle.
Player One hurried and stood beside Player Two observing the map now.
"Am I...Am I reading it right?" Player One said and looked at Player Two, who had the same expression of confusion on his face.
"Do we have the right map?" Player One clicked its tongue and asked again.
Player Two nodded before saying, "I looked in every boat and this was the only one"
"I have lights, I could just burn it now," Player Two said in frustration holding the incomplete map in his hand.
"I think we should start moving, it's getting dark and a little windy" Player One rubbed his arms and started moving forward. While Player Two dragged his feet and followed.
"Could you just move a little fast? You are moving slower than a turtle" Player Two commented groaning for what felt like the hundredth time.
"Idiot" The only word Player One muttered knowing that it was indeed true that he was moving slow.
The "Out" gate seemed insight and Player One took a deep breath.
The door flew open with a little more strength and both of them stepped out.
"What's making you so jumpy today, you are usually calm" Player Two looked at Player One and said.
"I just...it seemed...I don't know... familiar" Player One stuttered.
He had to stay focused. He shouldn't let reality affect the game. It can only be done by shutting down all those voices in his head.
"Is it the same forest we were in before?" Player Two asked about observing the new path.
"Nuh-uh..it was dense, it looks like most people had already walked this way, and less vegetation too" Player Two nodded and kept walking.
"Careful..we are now in a crowded street." Player One said without looking at the map as if it was already printed in his head.
They both looked at both sides before crossing the road, which further led them to another forest with a similar structure as before.
"I guess, that's where the map ends," Player Two said to himself and folded the map keeping it in his pocket.
"Let's keep moving then"
It was the only way, the only choice now.
"Is it the same factory?" Player Two finally looked up and saw the old toy factory in front of them.
"Were we supposed to come back?" Player One asked already knowing the answer.
No, they were not supposed to come back.
"Tintintin"
Both of their heads shot up hearing a bell. It was the first time there was an announcement.
"You have three tries to complete this level. You just lost your one chance. With each lost chance, your avatar will start to downgrade"
"Isn't the game always full of surprises" Player Two groaned and took out the map again? Almost crushing the piece of paper before Player One stopped him.
"Focus. If there are no ups and downs and everything is smooth, you will never learn a thing" Player One had already started walking again following the map.
"You are way too optimistic in a mere game" Player Two commented now walking down the forest.
"If I stop hoping for a better ending or if I stop trusting, there won't be much left. You could say it is much easier for me to hope than not to hope" Player One said not aware if he was talking about the game or the reality. Things in his mind were getting jumbled up again.
"I'm glad you know that!
People who lose confidence in people and shut themselves away are finished!" Player Two said lost in the conversation now, not noticing that it was not related to the game at all.
"Which path would you choose?" Player One stopped and asked.
"I am still at crossroads," Player Two said, not referring to the game but his reality.
"I will pull you to my side, give me some time" Player Two smiled and said, but his expression changed finding the old factory in the view.
"It's a maze," Player Two said.
"I figured"
"You know how to solve a maze?" Player One turned to Player Two, but before he could say anything, Player One realized something.
"We need something for giving us direction"
"The compass? Pirates?" Player Two said excitedly.
"Tintintin"
"You have lost another try. You now have only one remaining"
Player Two groaned.
"Do you even know who I am? You put me in an ugly dress and made me play the game twice. Do you know I am.."
*Player Two was thrown out of the game-breaking the rule*
*Rule says that you are not allowed to reveal your identity. He would get notified for it*
"No no no...I can't do this alone" Player One cried looking up in the sky.
The factory was already giving him creeps and now he had to go in again and complete the task.
"I am going to kill you. I hope you get partnered up with me, and then I will kill you" Player One declared before picking up the lights and stepping inside the factory again.
He looked around quickly, the eyes trying to adjust the darker structure. He has to be quick.
Without wasting any more seconds, he quickly made his way towards the pirate section. It didn't seem long before he found various compasses but none of them seemed to be working.
It was getting more dark as Player One was not able to see anything around anymore.
Existing from the same door as the first time, Player One took a deep breath.
"Maze.Maze. Something for direction" Player One shivered again in the cold wind.
*Wind..wind has a direction*
His gaze fell upon the weapons he was holding and lit the torch. Raising it in the air, he realized that the flames were much bent towards one direction only, forward.
"Okay...let's start moving there"
This time while walking, Player One didn't refer to the map and only followed the direction of the wind.
Crossing the street, the forest, he finally reached home and opened the door.
Before Player One could see anything in the room, a bright light almost blinded him.
*Level completed successfully. You would be thrown out now*
