A Distraction

Only a few places were open at this time of an hour, and one of them was the gym Ace was working out in. The early hours of the gym were only reserved for a few of the elites, so they would not be bothered by any commoner. It was an understatement as the gym where Ace was right now bench pressing was a prestigious five-star gym; a gym which was equipped with almost all the cardio and lifting machines. Each elite member had their steam room and a personal swimming pool too. A personal trainer is assigned to take care of their routine and diet.

Even partying all night, Ace never missed a day at the gym, which always kept him in shape. It didn't cost him much to fly in his trainer for years and provide him with a residence, so he could keep training him.

"Yes, you would do one more" the trainer's voice while being motivating was also filled with an order. If the trainer knew that Ace could make one more set, he knew he could do it. He was not one of those who would give up. He was the one who would get what he wanted at any cost. The trait which made him motivated was also his reason to be a stubborn young man.

"You have improved a lot," The Trainer said, handing Ace the water bottle as Ace picked up the cloth to wipe off the sweat which was dripping from his forehead to his neck. Even covered in sweaty workout clothes, he looked better than any model.

As Ace took quick steam and shower, the trainer had already prepared a new diet chart for him.

Ace ruffled his hair and walked towards the trainer, taking the chart and keeping it in his gym bag. He had put his normal shoes back on and head out.

As soon as he stepped in, he heard his favorite sound.

"Purrrrr" he bent down and patted Kitty who acted as if she was oblivious to any of his charm.

He chuckled, taking the arrogant cat in his arms and settling on his bed.

"Did you miss dad when he was away" the octave in his voice had fallen as he kept patting his cat, knowing that it might annoy kitty after a while?

"Did dad tell you about a little girl he met" Ace knew he couldn't tell any of his friends about the strange girl? Right now he wondered why he was thinking about her. He usually never gave any girl a second thought, but something about her was pulling him towards her. He couldn't put his finger on what that thing was. It was just that something about her felt familiar.

He had been back for some days but nothing gave him the feeling of home, until last night. Last night, with the strange little girl, it was like he had finally come home.

"Kitty, dad might be going a little crazy" he brushed her hair again, he knew the spot which made her go "purrrrr" He chuckled and held the black cat closer to his chest, giving her light kisses on her head.

"Dad needs to find a distraction so.." the sound of the incoming footsteps made him look at the door.

"Oh, who knew the mighty Ace would hold a cat like a tiny baby" Xander laughed a little and landed on the bed, right next to Ace.

"Talking about the mightiness, guess how will the cheerleaders feel after finding out that there beloved Xander, likes Ironman 3 more than the first one"

The cat jumped down as soon as Xander tackled Ace pushing him down "you will never speak out that"

"What should he not speak about?" Noah entered the room dressed in the basketball shorts and holding his changing bag.

"I could smell you from here. Ughhh" Xander still holding Ace down opened his mouth as if he was about to puke.

"You are no different than him," Ace said from under Xander's arm.

"Oh, why don't we smell you then?" Xander turned towards Noah signaling him to join him as Ace shook his head violently making Xander and Noah both laugh out loud.

"Ouch" Xander yelled getting hit by a stick on his back

"How dare you touch my grandson!" Ace's grandmother was standing behind Xander now still hitting him with her stick.

"No no grandma, ouch..why are you still hitting me...ouch..look at him." Xander pointed at Ace who has started laughing now along with Noah.

"Good thing that I don't listen to you" Noah smirked and sat on the couch.

"Grandma Grandma stop..you will get tired" Ace was quickly on his feet trying to hold back his grandmother and trying his best not to laugh.

"And you..you young boy...why are you still not dressed" Ace realized something. It was his first day.

Noah started making his way to the bathroom, but he stopped and looked at Xander "Ironman 3?" He snorted and Xander pouted.

"Okay, but hear me out, when Potts rises hot as hell, dressed in those tight..." Noah clears his throat signaling towards Ace's grandmother, which made Xander quickly shut up.

"So you don't like the first part where he built the first iron man suit" Ace had just started when he heard a light laugh and turned towards his grandma.

"It reminded me of your father" It looked like she was lost in thoughts as there was a smile on her face.

"Dad?" Ace quickly sat down near her grandmother's feet. Living away from his parents to complete his studies, Ace has not gotten enough time to spend with his Dad. He loved stories from his grandma about his parents.

His grandma had slowly started brushing his hair. "Your Dad, my son, has been very enthusiastic since he was a young boy. From a very little age, he has started reading about old scientists and philosophers. He would spend a lot of time in his room and try to open up his toys and build up to something new." She laughed a little remembering something. "It was always the most hectic job to clean his room"

"Don't think I will be distracted. Shoo shoo, go get dressed" Ace's grandmother patted him on back, making him groan and get up.

"And don't even think about slacking. I am your grandmother, I will know"

*There goes his idea of skipping his first day*

He quickly changed into a black shirt and jeans, putting on his favorite pair of lenses.

"Good luck buddy, don't forget I love you" Xander yelled from the bed.

"Love you too" Ace groaned making his way to the elevator.

Looking at the kids gathered outside the class, he knew it would be irritating as hell to attend class with them. He was about to skip when he remembered his grandma's words.

Tapping his foot for some time, he looked ahead with a blank stare. In the daytime he needed peace and there was only one place he wouldn't be bothered by anyone.

"Library"

He turned around and found it way too easy to find the library. He could always read some books or just sleep.

"Ummm I. I was.." he raised his head to find a beautiful girl standing by his side. With long blonde hair and a white sundress, she looked like a pure maiden. He was so lost in thoughts that he didn't hear what she had said or maybe she hadn't said a word.

He noticed her little finger pointing to the desk in front of him. That's when he realized that she was already sitting there.

"Lily...here is the book you were looking for" She turned toward the librarian and quickly took the book from his hand. In a very swift movement, she collected the rest of her stuff from the desk without raising her gaze.

*Lily...such a beautiful name*

*So now I have reason to not skip anymore* Ace thought to himself and smirked. He had gotten a distraction.
