The City of Cradridge

After relaxing in the grass after his meal Alex made the decision to kill another monster, which would fill up his storage space, and then he would travel to the grey walled city on the horizon.

Once again walking into the dense forest, Alex began to search for his prey.

'Oh sweet, a new skill!' he thought.

After gaining the skill, Alex noticed that his steps became quieter. Before, his boots made noise from walking over the grass and leaves, but now the sound was less noticeable.

'Well this is gonna be nice to have later on' he thought.

After searching for a couple minutes, he heard more gibberish, a sign that goblins were nearby. Maximizing the efficiency of his new silent steps skill, Alex crept to the edge of some bushes, and saw 3 goblins. It seemed like they were talking, because they were standing in a circle speaking gibberish and laughing.

Taking advantage of their carelessness, Alex stands up from behind the bushes, and casts a spell.

"Holy Bomb!"

A bright yellow light the size of a basketball appears in front of Alex and is fired towards the middle of the goblins in a parabola trajectory. Because of Alex's level 10 holy magic skill, it hit the mark, landing right in the middle of the unaware goblins, exploding and killing one of them, while stunning the last two.

Alex ran forward while drawing his daggers from their sheaths. The remaining goblins were angered by the sneak attack that cost them their comrade, and charged toward Alex with their clubs raised.

Alex expertly dodges the first club swing, counterattacking with a stab from one of his daggers, landing a hit on the right shoulder of the attacking goblin, making it cry out in pain.

"GIIII" screeched the goblin.

While he was still focusing on the one goblin, the remaining one snuck behind him and swung its club.

At the last second Alex turned to see the incoming club, and raised one of his daggers to block the swing. The force from the club made Alex drop the dagger, but luckily he didn't take any major damage except for making his hand go numb. Taking advantage of the now defenseless goblin, Alex slashed with his dagger and expertly slit its throat. It dropped to the ground while bleeding out.

The last remaining goblin saw this take place and screeched, "GYAAA! GIIII". It began attacking, but since one of its shoulders was already injured, leaving it in pain, it was slowed down. It swung its club, but Alex dodged and cut its skinny green arm off causing blood to spurt from the stump. Alex finished it off with a stab through the heart, ending the last goblins life.

"That was close, I need more battle experience, that one goblin almost hit me from behind."

Now that the battle was over, Alex saw all his new notifications.

'Well, no level up that's too bad, I guess the goblins are just too weak.' he thought.

Alex moved to pick up his dropped dagger, sheathing them both before storing the most intact goblins corpse in his storage space.

[Storage has leveled up!]

'Yoohoo! Perfect timing!' Alex exclaimed mentally.

Checking his newly leveled up storage skill, he saw that his storage increased by two slots, making it a 3x3 with 6 total spaces. Alex stored the last remaining goblin corpses and started leaving the forest. On his way out, Alex found a small stream with clear water, and he decided to drink some water. Leaning down with his hands cupped, he finally saw his reflection.

"WHAA!!!" Alex screamed.

What he saw in the reflection was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. A perfectly symmetrical face, small nose, full peach colored lips, white porcelain skin, and the most mesmerizing eyes. They were bright purple and carried a subtle glow making them look almost unnatural. To top it off she had shining silver hair that looked like the moon. She was literally angelic. Back on Earth, she could easily be a top idol or model, attracting millions of fans.

"Th-Th-This is m-ME!?" Alex stuttered.

Alex was so beautiful that he was almost attracted to himself. Alex felt his face up like he was checking to make sure it was real, and to confirm his doubts were all false, the reflection mirrored what he was doing.

"No way.... this is literally insane... how am I so attractive!" Alex couldn't believe it. After standing there stunned for a couple minutes, he finally regained his calm and continued leaving the forest.

'Hmm I'm going to need to be careful with men, I can already see that a lot will be attracted to me and try to push themselves on me. Guess I'll have to always be vigilant in public and be ready to fight back' he thought.

Once out of the forest, Alex walked through the grass plains towards the giant walled city. Contrary to his original plan, Alex stayed away from the dirt road, and decided to walk in the grass with plenty of distance from the road, so people wouldn't be able to see him that well.

After walking through the plain for around two and a half hours, Alex was finally nearing the city. He could now see the large stone walls surrounding it, they were approximately 20 feet tall, and the entrance to the town was a metal gate that is probably closed at night time.

When getting closer to both the city and the dirt road, Alex was now starting to get noticed by the travelers. It was uncomfortable for him because he wasn't used to getting so much attention, not even considering he was a girl now.

Once he was close enough, Alex queued in line to enter the gate. As he was standing in line waiting, he began to hear whispers from around him.

"Hey man she is really gorgeous isn't she"

"Yeah I'd love to get a taste of her"

Each conversation sent shivers down his spine, but fortunately it was now his turn to enter the city.

The guard in front of him was wearing a light plate armor, with an iron longsword on his waist.

"ID please" spoke the guard.

"Um, I'm sorry but I lost my ID while I was out, can I get a new one reissued please?" Alex said in the most feminine way possible, flashing a smile while he was at it for the critical damage effect.

The guard blushed while Alex smiled.

"Of course ma'am, right this way. Hey Renier come take my place!" The guard yelled at another guard, who moved to take his spot for checking ID's.

Renier mumbled under his breath, "Lucky bastard", making Alex chuckle, in which Renier blushed as well after realizing he was heard.

Following the first guard into a small room past the gate, the guard offered Alex a seat, and after seeing her sit down, he sat down himself.

He pulled out a clear spherical crystal, similar to the ones used in fortune telling movie scenes from earth.

"I'm going to need you to put your hand on this and then pass magic power through it."

As Alex was putting his hand on the crystal, he decided to ask the guard out of curiosity.

"What is this used for?"

"It is used to determine if a person without a ID is a criminal or a bandit, but I doubt I even need to use it in your case."

After pouring some of his magic power into the crystal, it glowed blue, signifying that he was not a bandit or criminal, as if that was the case, the crystal would glow red.

"Ok, that about wraps it up, I just need you to pay the entrance fee and you are free to go."

'Oh shit the entrance fee! I don't have any money yet, how will I explain this one' Alex internally reacted.

"Umm, actually I lost my ID along with my money so I can't pay the entrance fee, but I hunted some monsters, so I can pay the fee after I sell them at the adventurer's guild."

"Oh you're an adventurer? I would have never guessed that! It's ok this time, I'll let you off the hook, just don't tell anyone" the guard tried to flash his most handsome smile, as if hoping for some brownie points.

It had the opposite affect on Alex of course, making him as turned off as could be, but he pulled off a poker face and flashed one of his trademark angelic smilies.

"Thank you so much mister! I'll remember this!" Alex said sweetly.

The guard once again blushed, thinking that he made the right move to get on this beauties good side.

"Don't forget to remember to get your adventurers ID reissued. Well then, you may leave, enjoy your time in the city of Cradridge."

Alex exited the guard room, and walked into the large medieval styled city.

'Here we go! My life in a new world begins now!'
