Prologue Part 6

Sachi Bennion: "I heard you and father talking about taking it slow with uncovering the ones plotting against me and the family line. I woke up due to the pain. I am going to need a good scrub down again and a reapply of medicine."

Adie Bennion: "Yes, we need to take it slow. Our tracker already has the scent and can take us to the family member with no problem. But I want to make sure that nothing else happens to you, especially while you are healing up. They caught you off guard, we will not let that happen again. Trust me my daughter."

Sachi Bennion: "Thank you father, for that. If you could have the cook, make up some soup again that would be great."

Adie Bennion: "I can do that. I will also have one of the house maids change out your bedding while you go take a bath. Need to keep all that clean for you."

Ceilic Bennion: "I will go and get some of the maids to help take you to the bath. I am more than sure that some warm water has already been put in the tub in anticipation of me. But you need to keep yourself cleaned well; I can wait a little longer."

Sachi Bennion: "Thank you, mother, father; I appreciate all your help. I will do my best to do as much for myself as I can."

Her parents just looked at her with smiles of pride at her resilience. The true mark of a proper alpha. Not even injuries this severe were going to stop her from trying to do things for herself. She was not even crying with the amount of pain she was in. This fact alone made her parents quite proud, as well as the fact that she was not even spouting rants of revenge. Though, considering what happened, might have been anyone's normal reaction to almost being killed. Her father smiled big one last time before kissing her forehead and left the room to deliver the message to the cook about the soup. Her mother got up and fetched two maids to help be Sachi's support after making sure there was fresh water in the tub.

Returning with the maids, they helped hoist Sachi out of bed while her mother grabbed another set of clean night clothes, the looser, the better. At least till she was more healed anyway. Carrying her clothes, she followed the maids as they carefully walked her to the bath. Making sure the screen was in place, the two maids helped to remove her nightshirt. Even helping to take her hair down. Placing a step stool next to the tub, they supported her as she once again got in the tub and sat down. The warm water felt good on her skin once again as she submerged most of her body in the water. One of the maids made a nice gesture and placed some rose petals in the water in hopes of helping to sooth her. Once again, she went through the process slowly of scrubbing her own limbs and front of her torso with the lye soap. Asking one of the maids to please scrub her back down. She finished her bath off by scrubbing her hair well with the lye soap. Standing up, she made sure her hair and most of her body was rinsed well with some of the other water that had been boiled again. Getting out, the maids helped softly pat her dry as they got her dressed in the clean nightgown. Helping to walk her back the two maids steadied her as her mother followed them back to her bed which had been freshly made while she bathed.

Getting the comb, her mother once again put her hair in a braid, this would sure help to keep it out of the way. Once again, her mother dug out the medicine the doctor had mixed up and began to help one of the two maids apply it to the worst areas. The second maid was then ordered by her mother to get the medicine that helps to boost their regenerative abilities. With a nod, the maid left out of the section that held Sachi's bed and went to retrieve the special medicine in a hurry. Nodding her head in satisfaction, Ceilic continued to apply the superficial medicines. They helped quite a bit with the surface pain, that alone made it much easier to take the internal pain. After about twenty minutes, her mother and the remaining maid had finally finished rubbing in most of the poultices and salves as the second maid finally returned with the special medicine.

She drank down the medicine with a little bit of help, it was not the best tasting stuff. Such a bitter after taste, she hoped someone would give her anything sweet to help counter the bitter. But that was fine. Sachi did not yet know what the special medicine was comprised of, but she would be sure to find out sooner or later. Besides, as an alpha, it would not hurt to know the recipe that can help her heal faster if needed again. After all, botany was a much-loved hobby in her original life. Her father showed back up shortly after she drank down the last of the special medicine. In his hands, he delivered himself, the soup she had asked for. The two maids helped her to sit back up as her mother scooted the little table in front of her so she could eat. At this point in time, it did not seem to matter how gently she moved or show carefully she moved, the pain would be waiting regardless, but she endured the pain without complaint. Her face on the other hand, spoke volumes in place of her voice about the pain.

Adie Bennion: "I see I made it just in time with the soup. Till you are better, me or your mother will bring your food directly to you. I do not want to chance your siblings or cousins trying to do anything to you Maybe they will give themselves away from frustration."

Sachi Bennion: "Father, thank you for that. I will be sure to do my best once I am better to help you catch them. Thank you for the soup. I am hoping that in a few more days, I can finally eat something a little more solid without the nausea."

Ceilic Bennion: "Do not worry about that my child. The special medicine you drank is a formula specifically designed to help boost our natural healing powers. Drinking it once a day for about a week should help to cut your healing time down by half. Then we will not run out of the surface poultices as fast due to the pain. Half of it should be gone within that week."

Adie Bennion: "That medicine is quite powerful. With your alpha powers, this medicine will help make these injuries disappear almost completely in that time. But we will want to make a good showing of it as though you are still injured. Only the high ends of our family know of this special medicine. It is only ever given in extreme cases, though most tribe members are not aware of how it is they heal after a battle. Do no mention this medicine at all."

Sachi Bennion: "I understand fully, mother and father. I will make a good showing to give whoever actually pushed me in a false sense of security. Maybe it will draw all those out who are in on the plot to kill me."

Adie Bennion: "Very good. We shall put on a showing of our own. We will act like you are taking longer to heal than you should. I will also send word to the Crimson Tribe to warn the potential mates of the treachery in our midst. I want to find out if they know of it and are genuinely surprised or if they are in on it."

Ceilic Bennion: "That is a good idea dear. Better to know who our possible enemies are before they get here. Though I doubt any of them are in on it, but it is best to be safe considering what happened."

Adie Bennion: "I could not agree more with that statement. You finish your soup and get some much-needed rest. We will have the two maids here help you to the outhouse before you lay back down. Just take it easy for now, my daughter."

Sachi Bennion: "Thank you father. That will be most welcomed. After I am a little better, I would like to address the suggestion for the gathering again."

Adie Bennion: "Do not worry Sachi, we will get things sorted out and make the culprit or culprits pay. You may be the youngest, but you were raised for a purpose. It must be fulfilled. It is the duty of all the strongest alphas to guide the rest of us."

Ceilic Bennion: "I know you will do us proud. And yes, once you are better, we will talk about that suggestion. It is the least we can do."

Sachi Bennion: "I understand father, mother. I shall wait here for the maids to help me and get some rest. I shall see you and mother in the morning."
