Chapter 14: The Weekend Part 2: The "Sleepover"

3rd Person POV

Katara and Aang were still outside talking and looking at Katara's phone to see who saw her story. Most of the school added her on snap but she doesn't talk to everyone. They made their way inside and saw that Gyatso was done meditating and began making the salad. Gyatso said the food will be done in a minute so Aang and Katara went to one of the many bathrooms and washed up.

They made their way to the table and began to eat. Katara was surprised at how good this salad was. To her, it wasn't just a regular salad with just lettuce and ranch. She had croutons, cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, and all other kinds of stuff. Aang had so many different types of dressing that she didn't know which to choose so she went with a regular ranch.

"So Kat, how is it?" Aang asked.

"It's really good. Mr. Gyatso, how did you make this salad so good?" Katara smiled looking over at Gyatso.

"Just call me Gyatso child. I don't know, I just cut some vegetables up and mixed and seasoned them lightly. That's pretty much it." Gyatso smiled back. About 5 minutes later and they were done eating.

"Thank you again, Gyatso for making this wonderful salad," Katara said while putting her plate in the sink.

"You are very welcome." Gyatso smiled and started to head upstairs.

It was around 8 PM and Katara suggested that they watch a movie. Aang said sure and decided to watch the movie in his room because the TV in the living room was loud for some reason and plus why would Aang miss out on having a cute girl in his room.

The two-headed upstairs and got on Aang's bed. Aang went over to grab the remote. He also grabbed the LED light remote and handed it to Katara.

"Pick a color," Aang told her as he scrolled through his TV to find Netflix. She nodded and proceeded to click on all of the buttons until she found a color she liked. He didn't usually watch TV in his room because he liked the bigger one downstairs but he would watch every once in a while.

"Alright, so what do you want to watch?" Aang asked the brunette who was still clicking buttons.

"Umm, I dunno" Katara responded. Aang was clicking over and saw a few movies that he wanted to watch but never did.

"Okay so we can watch Project Power, After, 1922, or The Babysitter," Aang told her. She finally picked the color she liked.

"Oooo let's watch 1922. I heard it was a scary movie." Katara said placing the LED remote on the nightstand closest to her. Aang nodded and clicked on it. Homemade his way towards the bed where Katara was. He was sitting up on his headboard and Katara was doing the same. They were relatively close and their hands were about an inch away from each other.

Halfway through the movie Katara and Aang eventually moved closer and Katara was resting her head on his shoulder and he was resting his head on hers. When there was a jumpscare Katara grabbed onto Aang's forearm and left it there. Aang didn't seem to mind.

The movie was over and Aang suggested that they watch another one. Of course, Katara agreed. Katara decided that they should watch The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina because why not. Aang proceeded to click on it and they watched it.

Eventually, Aang got comfortable and was laying on his pillow still propped up and Katara was laying on his side. Aang didn't mind that Katara was there. Each episode was about an hour long and Katara was starting to get sleepy. She yawned a couple of times and began nodding off. Aang started to do the same and eventually, the two of them were sleeping all cuddled next to one another. The TV turned off because there was no activity and the only light that was coming from Aang's room was the grey-ish color that Katara picked.

It was midnight and Gyatso was still awake. He made his way past Aang's cracked door and peeked inside. He saw that the two were sleeping peacefully. Gyatso smiled and closed the door. He made his way downstairs thinking about how cute the two were.

Meanwhile, Aang heard the door close and his grey eyes started to open. The only thing he could see was a peaceful brunette sleeping. Aang was blushing and smiling. Aang didn't know what time it was so he grabbed his phone and looked at the time. It was 12:05 AM and he didn't realize that it got so late. Although he really didn't want to wake the sleeping beauty next to him he had to.

"Kat wake up," Aang nudged her.

"Hmm," Katara mumbled.

"You have to get up. We fell asleep and it's midnight and I'm pretty sure your father is gonna lose his marbles." Aang told her. Katara opened her eyes and grabbed her phone and saw that she had 5 missed calls from her father and 3 unread messages from him.

"Crap," Katara said. She got out of Aang's arms and began blushing, realizing the position she was in but her blush faded quickly when she realized that she was probably going to be grounded for a lifetime. Katara grabbed all of her stuff and made her way downstairs. Aang followed shortly after. The two of them saw Gyatso sitting in the kitchen drinking some tea.

"I'll be back Gyatso. I'm taking Katara home." Aang told him making his way out the front door keys in hand. Gyatso didn't get the chance to say anything back but he didn't mind.

The two raced to the car and got in as fast as humanly possible and started to drive. Katara was reading through her messages and she knew she was screwed.

*Katara's Messages*

*End Messages*

"crap, crap, crap" Katara kept saying. She called her father and he answered. He was angry. Like really angry.

"Where are you!" He yelled.

"Sorry dad, my phone was on silent. I'm coming home now." Katara said.

"Stop leaving your phone on silent! What if there was an emergency and I tried to contact you and you didn't answer? I- I don't know what I'm going to do with you child but you better have a better explanation as to why you are coming home at midnight!" He yelled.

"Alright, I'm almost home," Katara said and then hung up. "Aang drop me off at the end of the street because I know for a fact my father won't let you get away this time." She told him before they turned. He nodded and stopped the car.

"Bye Kat. Sorry if I got you in trouble" Aang said sincerely.

"It's fine Aang. Don't worry about it. I will text you tomorrow hopefully" She said, grabbing her stuff out of the car. She waved goodbye and began walking down the street. Her house was 3 houses down from where Aang dropped her off at. Aang stayed there until he saw her turn down her driveway. He drove past to make sure she was alright before heading home.

Katara made her way down her driveway and then she saw her father standing on the stairs. His glare was something Katara was not fond of. He motioned for her to go inside and she knew that it wasn't going to be pretty once he closed the door.
