Mimics -L-

I slide the door to the infirmary open to see Alex's twitching expression and Dylan with a smug smile. As I enter, Alex's eyes light up and Dylan's eyes narrow ever so slightly. When they see the tray of food, Dylan starts to drool and Alex looks disinterested.

I raise an eyebrow at Alex before smiling knowingly.

'She probably drank more of his blood.'

I carried the tray over and actually looked at it for the first time. There were four bowls of apple sauce, just... why. Other than that there was a pizza slice for each of us, bless pizza Mondays. There's also some... milk? I question what kind of person made these types of trays. Ah, it was Kyla who made them, makes much more sense. She's Courtney's sister after all.

Nodding at the, okay, food. I hand Tia, Dylan and Alex their portions.

After eating we chat for a little, until the bell goes and we need to go.

"Mistress?"

I turn back to Alex.

"Would you meet up with me, Tia and Dylan after School?"

Hearing the added name of Dylan I furrow my brows before they lighten up and I nod. With a newly brightened expression, Alex waves goodbye and walks to her class with Tia while Dylan just waves and leaves.

Now then, what's my 6th lesson again? I take out my time-table, Physics was first, then Chemistry, Biology, English, I missed Math and now... shit.

Psychology, the worst subject for me. Only because of the mimics in my class. I shiver at the thought of them. They're beyond creepy. They're like a damned hive-mind but creepier than the insects that have one.

But, at least Psychology will be practical for the future, being able to tell Dylan wasn't lying was helpful. Body language, habits, tells for when someone is lying, hiding something or waiting for or to do something. These will be useful.

I open the door to my classroom and am greeted with Samira and Maraud in their usual places. My teacher on his chair with his usual fedora and weird long black hair. Wait, my teacher is on his chair? He never sits on the chair. I turn back to him and catch a glimpse of a tail.

'So that's how it is.'

"Move Teardot, also, don't just stare at someone."

There it is, my damned nickname. Courtesy of the mimics. I ignore them and walk over to sit in my seat next to Samira, who looks at me, bewildered. She raises an eyebrow at me and I just give a sly grin.

I sit down in my seat and look forward and am greeted with a raised eyebrow from Maraud, the sight of people in their chairs. Of course, can't forget the mimics. Their yellow miniskirts, red tights, dark red jackets and the, once again, 'oh I'm so fancy' block high heels. The three mimics, Tatyanna, Tina and Treasa.

I can hear the mutters and rumors about me while I read the news.

[BREAKING NEWS]

[We have received info about the person making the processed metals!-

"Did you see that? Linde looks weird, do you think she used the race pill?"

-Codename: The Doll, a female of unknown race who has the sub-class Blacksmith! It's said that this person was recruited personally by Inyene, the proclaimed 'King' of Sin: Lust and Virtue: Chastity-

"-know, I heard a rumor that she passed out at lunch, don't you pass out after using it? It might expl-"

-In addition to the information, we've received a personal statement from the 'King' herself! The statement is the following... was this really a statement? Well, the statement says that-]

"Quiet now."

Although quiet like everyone else, our teacher's soothing voice has a certain magnitude to it, no-one can not pay attention to what out teacher says.

"Today, we'll be reading body language in five groups of six. Your task will be on the piece of paper, see if you can guess what the other people are thinking."

Maraud's eyes narrow, Samira raises an eyebrow, everyone else looks shocked. Fred raises his hand.

"Yes Fred? Is something the matter?"

'Our teacher speaks slowly, lazily. Quite unlike him.'

My eyes narrow.

"Mr Griffith, how-"

"Formalities are unneeded in this class, how many times must I say this?"

"Aster, how are we meant to read minds, we haven't changed race yet."

An incoherent mumble doesn't escape mine or Mr Griffith's ears.

"Most of us anyway."

Mr Griffith looks at Fred and then proceeds to explain.

"Body Language, it helps clue you in to what people are thinking or feeling at that specific time. Without actually reading their mind. Vocal tone and volume, the way someone glances at someone, their expression, if they fidget in a particular way. All of it is body language and can be used to read immediate thoughts of someone if they're not controlled."

I raise my hand. With a raised eyebrow Mr Griffith calls out my name.

"Yes Linde?"

I ignore the disgusted and surprised looks from various people before asking.

"Aster, what do you mean by controlled?"

Mr Griffith raises an eyebrow before answering.

"People who can control their every action can mislead people, make them think they're new while actually a professional."

I question "How would you do that?"

"Well, you'd usually tra-"

As we continue speaking back and forth, more and more people either become confused or disinterested before one of the mimics finally brings us out of out back and forth.

"AHEM!"

Coughing, oh so loudly, Tatyanna brings the focus to her and raises an eyebrow at Mr Griffith. He gets the drift and speaks.

"Right, the activity."

He glances at his watch, I glance at the clock, it's 30 minutes into the lesson. After the activity, school ended and I walk over to the door with my stuff while checking my status.

Vague, but it's okay. I'll test it later. After getting to my locker to take my things, sigh, I run into the mimics. Tatyanna says outright what they want.

"Which race did you choose to get that beauty, or did you kill someone to level up? Spill Teardots."

"First, teardots isn't a nickname that works for me anymore. Second, I have no obligation, nor duty, nor the want or need to tell you."

I shut my locker and as I'm leaving Tina stands in front of me. She simply puffs out her accentuated chest, probably pads, and stares at me as if I'm supposed to be intimidated. The other two do the same.

Sigh, what am I going to do with this idiots.

-----Dylan's View-----

'Where's that little brat, the shy one and that other girl.'

Looking around I finally spot Alex and Tia walking before moving over and meeting them. Waving, I greet Tia but Alex seems to be staring somewhere. Following her gaze I spot the other girl she calls Mistress, Linde, being blocked by three girls in matching attire.

I turn back to Alex and see her eyes turn brown, furrowing my brows I grip her shoulder and she locks on to my gaze with red eyes.

"Calm down, your Mistress isn't going to be done in like that you know."

After hearing my words, she calms down somewhat, then we all silently go closer to hear more about the situation. Catching my friend, Leeroy, watching the drama I ask him about it.

"Hmm? That's the Year 4 trio, probably forcing teardots to answer their question."

'Teardots? I'll ask later.'

Turning to listen in I can hear the conversation.

Girl 1 - "Tatyanna, what should we do then? Teardots here won't answer us."

Tatyanna - "Hmm well, Tina, we should just leave, if she doesn't want to tell us that's fine. It just means she doesn't respect us or she was raised badly. I think it was probably the second one to be honest. Country bumpkins should stay out on the country after all."

The moment she finishes speaking, I see Linde's fist shivering.

-----Linde's View-----

'She just said, I was raised badly? I, was raised badly?

Sure, I didn't turn out the best person, but do they even know what they're talking about?

That's simply an INSULT.'

I turn my head to Tatyanna and I see her start to sweat and shiver slightly under my gaze.

I speak coldly, calmly.

"Don't ever mention my upbringing. If you want to talk smack that's fine but."

I take a step towards her.

"Saying something like that? That's an insult."

My blood vision turns on and my view of her changes.

All I see is an absolute imbecile.

A sack of EXP.

"That's an insult to my Grandmother, an insult that if you make again?"

I can see her blood flowing from fear. Her heart beating loudly, a deafening sound.

"Then it'll be simple."

I can smell the stink from her sweat.

I whisper the next words, but the effect is a deafening sound to Tatyanna as my eyes glow red.

"I'll kill you."
