Chapter Five

I was so exited to take a nice hot shower, as I was making my way to the bathroom I noticed that there was a little box sitting on the table, I didn’t know where it came from or what was it doing there so I thought that it was a gift from my mum. I opened the box— it wasn’t a gift from my mum but I also wasn’t prepared for what it actually was— and laying there was a light pink flower corsage, it had little daises and pastel pink roses and to be honest it was beautiful, so I picked it up and beneath it was a hand written note.

“Look inside your closet”

By now I was so beyond confused so I did as the note said and looked inside it, I walked to my closet and opened it but when I did hanging there was my prom dress, I couldn’t believe my eyes, as far as I knew this dress was in my closet back home, I carefully took it out and laid it on the bed it was when I noticed that there was also a note attached to the hanger, again it was a handwritten one but this time it said.

“Open your computer”

So I did and once again I was surprised, but this time it was by my friends, all of them where there on a FaceTime call.

“Hi A, how are you?” They all shouted

“I’m great and confused” -it was the truth, I was confused I didn’t understand a thing of what was going on- “girls what is going on, I really don’t understand anything”

“We are going to help you get ready for your special day” madds said.

“My special what now, girls seriously what is happening” I asked once again.

“Look A we can’t say much, all we can say is that there’s a surprise waiting for you and we are helping you get ready for it” em said.

“Okey fine what do I have to do?” I asked because I knew them and they weren’t going to tell me anything else.

“First of all you are taking a shower and once you are done we are going to help you with make up” Chloe said

“Okey” was all I said before going to the bathroom to take a quick shower, once I was done I took out my makeup and the girls help me decide on what to do, we decided to do a natural look, I didn’t really like those overly done ones.

“Okey A is time for the dress” Zoey said.

“By the way how did it get here?” I asked while putting it on.

“We went by your house and asked your mum for it, she actually wanted to come and help but she got a case and couldn’t, so we went and drop it instead” Ava said.

“Yeah she told me about the case earlier, but I still don’t get how could you bring the dress in here” I said.

“About that, we had a bit of inside help, Em your nurse helped us with that” Olivia answered this time.

“Of curse she did” I said as I turned around to show them the final look.

“A you look amazing” all the girls said

“Thank you girls”

“Okey so now you have to go to the door and wait for Em she will take it from here, girls I believe our work here is done” Olivia said.

“Yep, have fun A” they all shouted before ending the call.

I did as I was told and went to the door, not even two seconds later Em came to the door.

“Honey you look wonderful” she said.

“Thanks Em, soo what should I do now” I asked.

“This is for you, I believe you will know what to do” she said as she gave me another note but before I could opened it she told me to remember to be back by midnight and she smile before leaving.

I opened the note and there it was written in neat handwriting the message that made me realize who was behind all of this.

“Met me at our spot ♡”

Instantly my mind went to all of the things that had happened today, the box, the dress, the girls, Em, and of course who else could be behind all of this if not Noah, he was the only one that knew about the bit of hope I had on going to prom, access to my friends and could get Em to help them. My mind was racing with all kinds of what ifs, I tried to calm myself and started walking to the window.

I got there and Noah was against it wearing a black suit, I took a deep breath and took a couple of steeps forward, he did the same, until our feets where touching and we were face to face.

“Hi” was all I could say

“Hello, you look breathtaking” he said while his eyes roam through my body, meeting my gaze once again.

“You, um look handsome as well” and what was that! I do not find him handsome, yes he is nice to look at I’ll admit that but handsome!? my thought were interrupted by a hand taking my and a low — Addie—

“Im sorry what?” I asked

“I was saying that we should get going” Noah said while letting go of my hand, instantly I missed the warm of it, what? Get it together Addison!

“Sure, um where are we going?” I asked

“That’s for me to know and you to find out” he said with a cheeky smile, I just rolled my eyes.

We walked for a while until we stopped in front of a door.

“Addie, do you trust me?”

“Yes”

“Okey then” he walked around me until he was standing behind me and blindfolded me.

“Here take my hand” was all he said, I heard the door open and close behind me, we took a few steeps forward and stoped, he once again came behind me and took the blindfold off, I blinked a few times before I fully opened my eyes, and my jaw dropped, in front of me was not only the most breathtaking sight my young eyes have ever seen but it was the most thoughtful thing someone ever did for me.

We were standing inside a room that was fully decorated with fairy lights, in the middle there was a table that had flowers scattered all over it and had a few candles on it as well, then in the corner of the room there was a fort with pillows and what looked like really soft blankets all around it.

“I know its not like the real thing but I thought we could also have a prom” was what Noah said and what took me out of my thoughts.

“Noah, this is… this is really amazing” I said while I turn to look at him.

“Well should we go sit down then” Noah asked while pointing to the table and offering we his hand.

“We should” I answered, taking his hand in mine.

As we sat, I started to really take in my surroundings, it was absolutely amazing, there were candles all over the table, and the food, there was so much food, honestly everything looked amazing.

“Um… so the only food they have here is cafeteria and off course hospital food so I um… tried to make the best out of it” Noah said not so sure about what he was saying because let’s be honest who in their right mind likes hospital food, yeah no one, but its not like he can get out and get food so he just had to make the most out of it.

“Noah, this is perfect” and with that we started eating and talking about all kind of things, hours passed and we where now in the fort, we where discussing the most awkward situations we had ever experience, he was telling me about how one time he asked the wrong girl to prom.

“I just don’t get how this was even possible” I told him because I really couldn’t believe how he managed to do that.

“Okey so, I was around fourteen trying to ask this girl to prom right? And little hopeless me didn’t have a better idea than ask his best mate for help, all he had to do was put a letter inside the girls locker, but he messed up the locker number”

“Omg, how did he even do that, didn’t he check for the right number?”

“Apparently not but here is when the situation get awkward, so the plan was for me to wait in the gym with the light off, so he had to put the letter that said to go to the gym in her locker, anyways I was staring in the middle of the gym holding a sign that read prom? Another friend was at the door just so we could now when she got there, so the girl gets to the gym and all the light go on she reads the sign, screams yes and comes running to hug me”

At this point I was a laughing mess, I was laughing so hard that I couldn’t even utter a word to Noah.

“But that’s not it” he says

“There’s more?” I asked in between laughs.

“Yeah, sadly there’s more, so by this point she was hugging me, so when she let go I had to explain the situation to her”

“What did you say to her?” I asked.

“I told her she was a beautiful girl and that anyone would be lucky to go to prom with her, but that, that person wasn’t me, and I explain to her how my best mate confused her locker with Sara’s locker the girl I wanted to ask, she wasn’t very happy about that which is understandable but we agreed that if by the end of the second week we didn’t have a date we would go together”

“You actually told her that you would go with her if she didn’t have a date?” I asked

“Yeah, why?” He answered.

“Nothing, I just didn’t expect that”.

“Oh, well is your turn” he said

“Right, so one of my friends was going out with this jack, Zack guy I don’t remember his name, anyways she was going out with him, turns out he was only using her to get back at his ex, we where changing after hockey practice when she told us that, I was so beyond mad that I went running into the boys locker room, I was shouting my head off when suddenly one of the boys points out my shirt was missing”

Noah was in no state to talk he was laughing so hard that he was past the breathing point but he tried anyways— you… omg… you really did that—

“stop laughing is not that funny”

“Oh but it is, how did you not realize you were not wearing a shirt”

“I don’t know”

“Im sorry this is too much” he said while he started laughing again.

“It’s not” and with that Addison started throwing m&m’s at him, and Noah throw gummy bears back, they started getting closer and closer until they were practically breathing in each other breaths.

“I…” Noah was the fist to break the silence, he was looking at a pair of gorgeous blue eyes, prettiest than all of the sapphires in the world and blue like the ocean.

Addison was the one to continue talking “I- I think we should go back is almost midnight”

She moved back and Noah let out a breath he didn’t even know he was holding “yeah, you are right lets go”

They started walking, letting the silence consume them, too busy with their thoughts, all kinds were going through both of their minds but there was one that was the same, love. Because deep down they knew they had already fallen, two broken hearts who fell for each other, and what could come out of that, no one knows after all their love was one of breaking hearts.
