After that little slip up as Addison liked to call it, they did as if nothing had happen and continued with their daily routine: wake up check up Lunch, with Noah sometimes Group meetings Chemo Movie night Dinner Sleep
And it worked, at least for a while it did, but soon enough they started stealing glances when they though the other wasn’t looking, brushing their hands whenever they had the chance, always trying to be close to one another, and it was driving Addison crazy, her heart said one thing and her head tried to take a more logical approach but the thing is there’s nothing logical about falling in love, its not like a hockey game were you can plan each move, you don’t have complete control of the situation, and she was trying to come to terms with that.
Either way she didn’t know what to do, she promised herself to never get that close to someone from the hospital again, she never broke promises but here she was with not the slightest clue of what she should do. She tried talking with her friends but they were no help they all said the same thing.
“You should give it a go”
“C’mon A if you like the guy go for it”
Or Addisons favourite
“stop being stubborn and give yourself the a chance to be happy, what’s the worst that could happen?”
What’s the worst that could happen?, what’s the worst that could happen!!, there were lots of things that could happen; she could ruin a great friendship by sharing her feelings, she could be rejected (there was little chance of that happening but it still could), and finally he could end up just like Ellie and she didn’t want to go through that again, she could go through that again.
She was being stubborn, because she knew that non of that would happen, she was just scared and paying too much attention to the negative things going through her mind, anyway she was taken out of her thoughts by non other than Noah.
—Hey, can I come in— he asked with a sweet tone in his voice, sweet tone?! For fucks sake get a grip brain!
—Sure—
He entered the room and sat down on the bedside chair— so I brought a list of movies and jello for movie night, thought be could switch it up—
—Yeah, because jello makes such a difference—
—Hey, you alright— he asked while putting a hand on my arm, and that didn’t help at all, why did he have to have such warms and soft hands.
—Im fine, let’s just… let’s just watch the movie— I was trying to avoid eye contact but off course I failed, who in their right mind would want to miss out on those gorgeous hazel eyes.
Time passed and somehow we ended up cuddling, as the movie was coming to an end the air around us turned into something charged with this awkward tension, suddenly there was no music playing and all it was left was a deep silence, this time it was Noah the one to break it.
—So um, it’s pretty late I should go back— he said while scratching the back of his neck.
—Yeah—
—So i’ll just…— with that he started to untangled himself from my body.
—I guess i’ll see you tomorrow— said Noah as he made his way to the door
—yeah, guess so—
—okey… goodnight— was what he said before turning to open the door
—goodnight— I said before he left.
What the hell just happened!?
