Grandma Melody or Nana as I now referred to her, had, like she promised, taken me back to the dreaded place I once called home.

For some, it would have been a pretty scary experience going back to such a place, given that they had spent most of their youthful life trying to escape its shackles. But that wasn't the case for me.

Bouncing slightly on my seat, one could see the obvious-as-day excitement radiating off of me. I noticed Nana and Marie smiling as they watched me express my immense happiness.
