Synopsis

Nellie and her younger brother Peter had suffered a great deal of abuse and hardship at the hands of their stepmother, father, birth mother, and even a boy she adored.

Nellie's greatest wish throughout all of this was to find a place where she could leave happily with her brother without fear of their past following them both. But then another misfortune occurred, leading her to believe that no matter how hard she tried, her dreams would always be out of reach.

However, things improve when Nellie meets a boy named Delian, who teaches her that life can be both kind and cruel and that it is not always one-sided.

What happens when Nellie's now peaceful and almost perfect life is upended by an evil from her past life, who now claims to have nothing but good in its guts?

Wow, this is a wonderful book. As a fellow Nigerian, I know about these kinds of scenarios very well—the blame games. Although there are times for prayer but people like Gift only ever blame the innocent for their misha**. The children don't deserve suffering. It's amazing how this book is coined from real-life events. It's amazing and sad. I love how realistic it is. The position the children are in is one I wouldn't wish on anyone. It definitely makes one eager to see how it all ends. A fine book indeed.❤

I love the author's use of imagery and the language they used when writing the story, and they were successfully able to handle dark subjects with grace and maturity. There are a few grammar mistakes here and there, but they don't detract from the story at all. The characters are written very realistically and as I reader I truly felt for them. Keep up the amazing work author!

An unexpected gem! What a bone-chilling presentation of a troubled household. Writers prose if fluid, easy to read and conjures vivid images easily. A fantastic read, I can't wait for more chapters!

Went through the first few chapters and so far I liked the book. The writer did an amazing job in introducing the plot and describe the events properly. Furthermore, the context of the story is quite different which will surely grab the readers' attention. [img=recommend][img=recommend][img=recommend][img=recommend]

Beautifully written literature! The descriptions and development of the characters makes the story come alive. Writing a true story is a bit tasking but the author makes it seem easy. I am still reading through but I am addicted already. Can't wait to find out what happens.

Great starting. The situation is something that can be understood by some people and therefore makes the work more realistic and less fictitious. Great job!
