Eke finally lost her patience with Nellie, she had spent almost half an hour trying to let the girl see why she couldn’t stay with her but all Nellie did was cry and beg and it was really beginning to get on her nerves.

Mr Duke Edem —Eke’s father— had passed away a year after her marriage to Timothy, leaving behind his wife Mrs Melody Edem to look after the house and family. When their father died, Eke’s siblings—except for Marie—left their family’s mansion. They all relocated to different parts of the country to settle down and for some, to start families of their own. So, since the huge house had basically become empty, Eke and her current husband had jumped at the opportunity to move into her father’s mansion since her husband was practically jobless and couldn’t provide a permanent roof over their heads.
