“As soon as those words left her lips, my entire body crumbled, leaving me in the pool of my tears as they rolled hastily down my cheeks and into my cracked lips... salty and cold.
“I had hoped that one day you’d come back for Peter…or…for me.” I cried. My voice was only but a whisper but it could be heard across the grave-silent room. My heart ached painfully against my chest as I sat on the floor unmoving in my tears-formed-pool.
“Why? Please tell me what we did so wrong to deserve your back turned against us?” Pausing I looked up at my birth mother trying to grab the attention of her pretty eyes but sadly, she adverted them from me.
“Please tell me and I will change it in a heartbeat so you can finally be able to let go of your anger and forgive us; plea...please mommy.” My voice cracked as I called her the name I always wished in my fantasies to address her with for as long as I could remember.
