Struggles

Nicola clenched his fists on the stone table at the same time as he contracted his shoulders, research had been stagnant for over a month, knowledge of this world only scratched the surface. So, as on Earth his greatest pleasure was to learn and create new things, this world had many more variables than in his previous life and he was willing to discover everything that interested him.

In his mind there were several special topics that he would try to understand, such as the origins of the magical lineages he possesses, not knowing his parents in this world made him uneasy about it. While looking for them, he intended to know all the branches that used magic to understand them and wander the continent in search of new species of plants, monsters and civilizations.

These were all the fruits that the city of Opus was able to yield for him, so he would have to move to another more developed city and acquire more knowledge to continue with the research.

It had been three months since he was involved in Augusto's fight, moods had calmed down but Nicola had not yet shown his appearance in public so as not to be recognized by the Balta family. With each level he went up it became more difficult and needed more experience than the previous one to go up again, so he was stuck at level 9 for a while and intended to leave the city only after going through the second reinforcement of the lineage.

After completing his last mission in the guild he had already accumulated more than 5,000 points, it was more than enough to become a six-star bronze mercenary but his individual ability was still only aware of five-star missions so he decided not to promote for now. Two of his arms were kept inside his clothes, he used both free to straighten his cloak, his long fingers with black nails unraveling creases left in the fabric.

The place had poor lighting, devoid of beauty and dry decoration, exactly the same he always found when he returned to the city. But this time there was a group of people talking animatedly in the corner of the room while drinking an orange beer celebrating a recent victory.
