Chapter 36 – Back at Hiroshima

Kiyoshi's pov

Man, that trip to Tokyo was so good and fun, especially the fact that Daku came with me. I hoped I would never forget this moment in my life.

Later, at exactly 5:15 p.m., the bullet train arrived at Hiroshima, and the doors are open. Me and Daku, who had been awake for the whole ride, stand up, grabbed our belongings, and get off the train, and onto the platform towards the exit. Not long after, we went to an intersection on foot, where we parted ways before going to our homes. At 5:44 p.m., arriving at my apartment home, I used the keys to unlock the front door, and I went in carrying my belongings, before taking off my shoes. After that, I turned on the lights, seeing the unchanging state of my apartment home.

"Nothing has changed," I thought to myself upon glancing at the same look of the living room and kitchen. "Seems to be normal."

I then went to my bedroom and placed my belongings beside the nightstand, before laying down on the bed to rest up after that long walk from the station.

"I hoped everything will stay the same," I thought to myself while looking at the dark ceiling because I didn't turn on the lights yet, as if there is still sunlight through the closed window.

Later at 6 in the afternoon, after turning on the lights, I did some writing work on my novels and journals, before going to take a nice shower to wash off the sweat I accumulated from the trip.

At 7, after taking a shower and dressing in my indoor clothes, I went to the kitchen to make a simple, but delicious dinner for myself. My dinner is Japanese Omelet, but with a meaty twist in the eggs. After that, I prepared the table and served the dish with rice, before sitting down finally.

I then did a prayer gesture, and said, "Thanks for the food."

I then grabbed my chopsticks and took a bit of my hot dish, before eating it, feeling its texture and tasting its salty, eggy flavor.

"Man, mom is so good at making dishes like this," I thought to myself happily and blissfully. "Thanks, mom."

After dinner, I washed the dishes and brushed my teeth. When that was done, I went to my bedroom, shut the door, and did some journaling work in my daily, precious journal for the night, including how I felt that late afternoon. After that, I read a few pages of my favorite psychological thriller novel book before taking notes on its key takeaways on a separate notebook. By 9:00 p.m., I turned off the lights and went to bed for the night, hoping that I would have a good day at work tomorrow.
