The New Girl-JG

It was the beginning of the year, right after winter break, and I was waking up to my phone ringing. It was my boyfriend. I picked up my phone and answered.

"Hey, what's up?"

"Just calling to say good morning, that's all. So, good morning!" he said happily.

Is he happy to hear my voice? Can't be. He's never this happy around me. What could it be that made him so happy? I thought.

"You sound happy!" I said, determined to find out what made him that way.

"I just passed my algebra exam!" he said, excitedly.

"Oh! Well, congrats, Jason!"

"Yeah, thanks! Anyway, I'll see you at school!"

"See you! Bye!" I said before I hung up the phone.

I should probably get ready for school, now, I thought with a groan as I got out of bed.

"Geez, I never knew I moved around so much in my sleep," I said to myself, staring at the messiest bed I had ever seen. I made my bed and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth. Everyone shares the bathroom, so I have to wait about five minutes for my sister, Veronica, to get out. When she does, I go in to brush my teeth. I brushed my teeth and did my makeup. I walked out of the bathroom and went to my room to get ready for school. I was almost finished, when Veronica came in.

"Hey, Jess, your boyfriend's at the door. Do you want me to send him in?" She said in a tone that said, "I don't care, but Mom told me to be nice"

"Yes, let him in, please, Veronica," I said kindly as to not get on her bad side. A minute or so had passed and I still hadn't seen Jason. I went to the front door and he wasn't there so I went to Veronica's room to ask her where he was and I saw her approaching Jason in such a slutty way, it almost made me sick. She leaned in quickly and kissed him before he could stop her or say anything. When she broke away from him, she started to grab his hands, but he jerked them away quickly.

"No! I have a girlfriend, and I would never cheat on her. Especially not with her little sister!" He said and darted out the door. I quickly made it look like I was just passing by just in time. He came rushing out and almost bumped into me.

"Hey, I was looking for you! Why were you in Veronica's room?"

"She let me in the house and took me to her room. I've never been here, so I didn't know that was her room and not yours," He said frantically, as if getting away from my sister was the most important thing in the world right now. I nodded and led him to my room. We talked as I finished packing my bag for school. When I went down to get breakfast, he looked at his watch and kissed me goodbye.

"I have to go, now, but I will see you at school," he said, as he went out the door.

"Bye!" I finished my breakfast and went to my bus stop down the street. When I got there, I sat down on the bench and started to draw on the sketchpad I had brought with me to pass the time. The bus came within a few minutes and I climbed aboard. I paid the driver and sat down alone in the back of the bus. I started to draw again.

The wait's not as long as it used to be, I thought as I drew a baby kangaroo, That's good, but I looked at the bus schedule, and it looks like there's more stops now.

A few stops went by and on the fifth stop, a girl who looked around my age boarded. She must've seen me because she sat right next to me.

Makes sense that she would choose to sit next to me, I thought, I'm the only other teenage girl on the bus.

"Hello, my name's Stacy", the girl said, "What's yours?" I ignored her. I didn't want to be disturbed while I was drawing, and she must've gotten the hint, so she just went onto her phone and started texting someone named Mason.

Mason? Who's he? A boyfriend, maybe?
