The redheads from hell

I found myself standing outside Rio's house, with Rio clinging on to my arm.

How did it even come to this!

* * *

"Darling!" Rio shouted, slamming the door open.

"What is it?"

"It's my mother! She wants to meet you!"

My body went pale, sweat dripping like a waterful from my face.

"Your mo-mother?..."

* * *

That sums up what happened before we got here.

I pushed the doorbell, hearing the faint ringing coming from inside the house. Heavy footsteps creaked the floor on the way to the door. They stopped just before it, then the door opened slowly, revealing a tall woman with red hair.

"H-hi, nice to meet you. My name is Ya-"

Before I could finish my sentence the woman had pushed my head into her breasts.

"Ara~ So you're little Yato I keep hearing about!"

Rio stared with total disgust at the woman.

"Ah! Sorry Rio, my hand must have slipped!" The woman said playfully. "Hello to you too, Yato. I'm Rio's mother, Yuno!"

"Hi..."

Should I really be here?

"Come, come inside. I have tea!"

Yeah, that makes it all the better. I'd have thought that Rio would have told me to "go leave that old hag alone" but I hadn't heard a word from her.

But her face was red, while looking at her feet. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Yuno smiling passive aggressively at Rio.

The next thing I knew, I was kneeling at a small table with a cup of tea in my hands. Rio and Yuno were giving each other death stares.

How awkward can this get?

"Hey, Yato. Why don't you tell me what you think about Rio." Yuno asked.

I took a sip of tea then slammed the cup down. "Annoying."

Yuno burst out laughing while Rio threw herself on me, crying her eyes out.

"You don't really think that, Yato! Come on! Say it's just a joke!"

"Pfft hahahaha. He called you annoying!"

"I'm not done yet." Instantly they both became silent. "As I said, she's annoying but she also cares about me a lot. And, I kinda like how she's so clingy." I said with my hand over my mouth, turning away, embarrassed.

Both of them were dead silent which made me more embarrassed.

"Darling!" I was bombarded with a hug from Rio that could probably squeeze the life out of me.

"Shut up! I'm tryna get some sleep here!"

We were interrupted by a girl about my age withe dyed blonde hair and small red eyes.

"And you are?"

"Who cares who I am! Just keep the damn noise down!" The girl said refusing to introduce herself.

"This is Aina. Rio's sister and my second daughter. She's a year younger than Rio and in the year below you at school." Yuno answered my question for her.

"Hmmm I see. Rio... WHY THE HELL DID YOU NOT TELL ME THAT YOU HAD A YOUNGER SISTER!?!?"

"J-just shut u-up!"

"Holy shit, she is cute when she's flustered," I said, forgetting my girlfriend was her sister.

"Don't you two openly flirt in front of me!"

Behind us, was Rio, who looked as though she was about to kill someone.

Well world, it was fun while it lasted...

A sense of déjà vu came over me as the last thing I felt, was a blow to the head.
