Denial or Acceptance? Part 2

"Good afternoon," the waiter asked when he approached. "May I start you off with a beverage or an appetizer before ordering?"

I shook my head. "No, thank you. I'm ready to order. I'll have sweet iced tea and a Reuben sandwich with onion rings instead of fries, please. Also, I'll have your Queso Dip to start." I folded the menu and handed it back to him and then said conspiratorially, "I haven't eaten anything yet today."

"Obviously," he replied under his breath, and then looked up and smiled. "I'll have that out to you in just a bit."

"Thank you," I replied. "And please hurry. I'm starving."

"Of course you are," he mumbled as he walked away.

"This guy's a trip!" Stellan scoffed, watching him leave.

"Yeah, it's pretty bad when even the waiters are snobby," I said in my mind, knowing Stellan would hear. "There's no way I'll take out a membership for her here now, even if someone paid me."

"Hallelujah," Stellan said, causing me to laugh.
