Sarah jumped and yelped with delight, "This is the coolest thing that has ever happened to me in my entire life!"
The cabin was as stable as if it were built on that tree by a professional construction company.
Sarah was so excited I thought she might accidently jump out of the cabin tree house.
I took it upon myself to levitate up to her, sixty feet in the air.
Levitating took absolutely no energy from me; I had practiced it to perfection.
Sarah was being silly again, "Excuse me sir please knock on the door if you'd like to gain entry."
I smirked at her, "Knock, knock, knock. Let me in or I'll leave you up here all night."
We laughed and laughed and laughed.
It was time to come down and head home from our cabin tree house in the sky.
Sarah came close to me, "Well, let's get out of this tree house of fun before we get in trouble."
Sarah's Father was a nice enough guy but there was no need to try to push the limits with him.
My Dad on the other hand, watched me like a hawk.
If the street lights come on and you're not inside, then he would fuss and yell like I had just used my abilities to hurt a good person.
Grabbing her gently but tightly, "Hold on little lady, we're going for a flight."
She synched her body against mine and I levitated us from the cabin in the trees. As we were approaching the ground a loud scream could be heard.
Lucky for us, I was close enough to the grass that losing my focus didn't caused us to get hurt, just startled.
Sarah quickly ran towards the scream as I got to my feet and attempted to regain my focus.
As I rose I could hear Sarah, "Mr. Johnson, what are you doing all the way out here old timer?"
His voice was agitated; Kevin Johnson had lived in Berm City, Virginia for all of his eighty four years.
When he spoke his voice quivered and when he walked it was like watching molasses come out of a tall jar.
He yelled at Sarah, "That boy…you and that boy…you were floating!"
I caught up to Sarah, wiping the dirt and grass from my jeans, "Hey Mr. Johnson, how's the garden coming along?"
My attempt to change his train of thought didn't work, "Sonny, what is going on out here? What was that?"
Sarah fluttered her hair and smiled, "Mr. Johnson, I think you need to go see Doc McCready. People can't float."
As he stormed off with his finger aggressively pointing at us, "I know what I saw little missy and I'm on my way to one of your Father's houses right now to let them know."
Sarah didn't show a care in the world about Old Man Johnson but I knew when my Dad heard about this there was going to be trouble.
The type of trouble that I wouldn't be able to get myself out of by apologizing or trying to explain.
This certainly spelled danger for me at least.
"Special abilities scare people. It's just because they don't understand, that's all."
