XVI: Organize

Lewis began to organize his groceries and the Matthew helped him put away the clutter. Matthew noticed that the house is too quiet. He could not help but asked, "Are we the only ones here?"

Lewis replied. "Yup, just the two us. That well, except for these guys." By guys, he meant his furry companions. "Are your parents coming back here this afternoon?"

"No, why?" Lewis titled his head in confusion. "When will they be coming back then?"

"Probably next month or maybe a couple of months. They don't visit me for long time. They travel a lot for work. When they get here, they don't stay for more than a day. They just check whether I still look human." Matthew got mixed emotions on how to reply to that. Should he laugh because of his last sentence or feel bad because of his home state?

"It's okay. You don't have to feel bad for me."

"I don't pity you. I just think that you know, don't you feel lonely sometimes?"

"I felt the loneliest when I didn't adopt my dogs. They make the house less sad. Over the months, you get used to it and don't feel lonely anymore. I have them."

Matthew sighed. "I guess we both have parent issues then." Lewis chuckled. "Maybe we do…"

After everything is done, Lewis took some snacks with him. Cheetos, Lays, and butter biscuits. "What's inside that?" He gestured at the red plastic container Matthew brought with him. "Cookies, grandma made some and made me bring these."

"Oh, cool. Could you grab a couple of drinks in the fridge? Take the ones that you like."

They went inside his room and it was simple. Surprisingly simple. No poster, no LED lights, just a small bookshelf, a study table and bed that can fit two people at most. They laid the snacks down on the convertible table Lewis set out.

"What do we start with?" Lewis asked. "Wait hold on, let me get a notepad and a pen."

Matthew looked around for inspiration but had none. "How about a little part of ourselves first? We start with your perspective then mine and for the last part we can have it like, as whole. To wrap things up, you know."

"Hmm, we can do that. How about the contents?" Lewis knew that is the hard part. What they should make narrative all about. "Let's plan a short trip." Matthew suggested. "A what?" Lewis is dumbfounded. Out of all of the options, trips are just a no-go for him.

"If you are okay with it, we don't have class for the whole week next week because the teachers are having a seminar and have to be away. We can use that time to plan and go somewhere." Matthew looked at him.

"I'm not really sure about that one… I'm not exactly built for the outdoors." Matthew laughed. "Seriously, let's say, we go on a hike. Look at me and then you. There is a big difference."

"I don't like hikes or trekking or even camping. If I can choose with the three of those, I'd say camping but nope, just nope." Lewis asked, "Then what?"

"Road trip, I guess? Exhibits, museums, then beaches, I don't know." Lewis contemplated. 'A road trip can work, but the money and transportation. Hotels are expensive.'

"That would be expensive, don't you think?"

"We can look up for paid all around trips, those are relatively cheaper and they have accommodation. That's pretty worth it."

"Then let's go plan ourselves a road trip."
