Chapter 8

Lydia's POV

We are finally back home after school and Julia and Alissa are literally trying to tug my out of my bed. "I am not coming." I said with finality in my voice to which I heard them groan.

"We don't care about what you say, Lydia. This is senior year's first party. You. Are. Coming. And, that's final." Said Julia as she successfully pulled me out of my bed, making me stand up. I scowled as she pushed me into the bathroom. I rolled my eyes and took a shower to help my situation.

Maybe the party wouldn't be all that bad. Atleast, I could hope so. I'd have Jacob with me anyways. I know he will not let me be alone.

I blow dried my hair before wearing my undies with a robe and walking back into my room. Julia and Alissa had laid out an outfit for me already; which I was thankful about.

I know Blake would be at the party and I couldn't help but put in some extra efforts in order to make myself look prettier so that he would notice me.

But, he seems so smitten with Georgia that I couldn't help but feel that I'd never have a chance with him.

Why did I have to love Blake?

There was billions of guys who are so much better than him.

Fuck it.

I thought as I finally got done with my hair before looking at myself in the mirror. I looked pretty okay. My black dress came till my mid-thigh, my heels looked amazing, the smoky eye shadow made my blue yes pop and the red lips were obviously a cherry on the top.

This outfit was a tad bit more sexier than what I would usually wear. But, for the first time, I didn't mind. The dress made my boobs look so much better but not in a way where anyone would think that I'm trying too hard to seek attention. I took my mobile before heading downstairs.

To my surprise, Blake was sitting in the living room with Julia and Alissa. He was talking about something with them but stopped mid-sentance when he looked at me. His eyes roamed on my figure, almost checking me out.

My cheeks flushed and my heart fluttered at the approving look in his eyes. Julia and Alissa wolf whistled when they laid their eyes on me.

"My my my, you look so fucking sexy!" Squealed Alissa dramatically, making me nervously giggle as I tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear while looking at the floor.

"Yes. Oh my god, you look so good." Said Julia, causing me to blush a little more. "Come on. We are already late." Said Blake, standing up and walking out of the main door leaving us 3 confused.

I was such a fool to think he would find me desirable.

Julia grabbed my hand and tugged me out of the main door. We both sat in the back seat while Alissa went to sit with Blake. My eyes never left Blake's figure as he drove us to Nate's.

We reached the party in no time. I got nervous as we approached the enterance of Nate's mansion. Alissa and Julia were quick to mingle with different people who were coming and greeting them.

Again, I stayed in their shadow. I made my way to Nate and River who were conversing with a group of guys. I tapped on Nate's broad shoulder and he turned around to look at me, a smile stretching on his face.

"Look who decided to get out of their shell." Nate teased, making me roll my eyes. He kissed my forehead. "Woah, Lydia. I really really thought you'd bail on us." River said. "Well, I decided to make an exception especially for you both." I said, flipping my hair.

They both smiled, shaking their head. River was going to ruffle my hair but I stopped him just in time. "Do not touch my hair." I said to him, faking a glare. He raised his hands in fake surrender while chuckling.

We three conversed for some time before Alissa and Julia decided to join us. I texted Jacob, asking him where he was to which he replied instantly saying that he had to be fashionably late.

I sent him a stupid gif before telling him to hurry up. Even though he is pretty annoying, I've found nothing but friendship and comfort with Jacob. He is a good dude.

I made my way to the kitchen to grab myself some apple juice before going and sitting on a chair in the corner of the room. My eyes searched the crowd for the only man who makes my heart beat skyrocket.

However, my heart squeezed painfully when I found him in Georgia's embrace, looking lovingly in her eyes. My mood instantly bummed. I felt helpless.

I was so in love with him. I remember when we were kids, we would fight and Blake would irritate me until I forgave him. Or how when other kids wouldn't speak to me, he would come to keep me company. I know we were kids back then, but I would cherish every moment I've shared with him.

Deep in my heart, I knew it was always going to be one-sided love in our case. He would never love me. He clearly loved Georgia. A lot. And, I think I could be happy loving him from a distance.

I will leave for college next year anyways, maybe then I'd be finally free from Blake and the feelings I have for him.

I was brought out of my thoughts when I saw Jacob's figure walking towards me. He looked spectacular in his black t-shirt and his black pants. He looked really really handsome. He smiled charmingly towards the ladies looking his way causing me to roll my eyes.

He winked at me when he saw me looking at him and I gave him a blank face. I don't want to boost his already big ass ego.

"Lydia, my love, you look gorgeous." He said with a dramatic sigh causing me to cheekily grin at him. "Why, thank you." I said, flipping my hair dramatically. He sat down next to me and we both immediately fell into an animated conversation.

To pass our time, we started observing people and making up stories about them.

"See that chick in the red dress? She obviously doesn't like her friend but she hangs out with her because she doesn't want to be a loner." I said, leaning back on my seat. "I beg your pardon, I think she doesn't want to be her friend because she likes her. Look at how she keeps glancing at the girl's cleavage." Argued Jacob and I observed the red dress girl more closely.

"Alright guys. This party is getting a bit boring. I want y'all to make a big circle. We are playing spin the bottle." Announced Nate and everyone cheered. I looked at Jacob, pleading him with my eyes to not drag me.

"Absolutely not. You are playing." He said to which I pouted and shook my head. "Alissa!" He yelled causing her to look towards us. Jacob motioned towards me to which Alissa smirked and started stalking towards us.

Guess I'll have to play after all.
