Chapter 13: The Resistance
Sozen and Aika were inside a room.
"What do we do?" Aiko asked
"Our main mission is to find the divine weapon" Sozen said "But it would be better if we tried to find it without soldiers chasing us always"
"So we're gonna become enemies of this kingdom?" Aiko asked
"No, we're going to be temporal enemies of the Bow Hero" Sozen said
Aiko sighed "Well then"
They exited the room. Mika, Katsuo and Kou were waiting outside.
"So then, what's your choice?" Mika asked
"We will help you" Aiko said
"Perfect!" Kou said
"Well then, let's discuss our plan" Katsuo said annoyed
They talked for a while.
"And that's it" Mika said "What do you think?"
"Perfect! Excellent! Magnificent as always master!" Katsuo said
"What do you think Sozen and Aiko?" Kou asked
"Well..." Aikoik said
"There's a lot of flaws in the plan" Sozen said
"Flaws?!" Katsuo said "How dare you disrespect my master's perfect pl-"
"Hold on Katsuo" Mika said "Where are the flaws you mentioned?"
"Firstly, the kingdom is very guarded and who knows at night. Secondily it would be very difficult to sneak a whole army and lastly it's a risky play, a lot of people might be jailed or killed" Sozen said
"It doesn't matter! Everyone in the Resistance would risk their lives for the cause!" Katsuo said
"And so that means that you can sacrifice lives?" Sozen said
"No-! I don't-" Katsuo said
"You're right Sozen" Mika said
"Master!?" Katsuo said
"Risking their lives doesn't mean sacrificing them" Mika said "It would be meaningless if we protected them here and then they died by them!"
"What-?!" Katsuo said
"They're right Katsuo" Kou said "Just accept it"
"Fine!" Katsuo said annoyed
"Well then, tell us your plan Sozen" Mika said
"My plan?" Sozen thought for a while.
"Does this guy even have a plan?" Katsuo said
"Hey can someone give me something to drink?" Tranzarus said
"Yeah, just wait a bit" Kou left and then returned with some water.
Tranzarus grabbed the water and drank.
"I got it!" Sozen said
"Well then, tell us your plan" Mika said happy
"We'll...." Sozen started teling them the plan.
Later that night.
In the entrance of the kingdom.
There was a line to get inside, guards were checking people.
Sozen, Aiko and Tranzarus were disguised by a cape.
"They're checking people" Sozen said "As Mika said"
"When is the plan starting?" Aiko asked
"In 3... 2... 1..." Tranzarus started counting back "Now"
Suddenly from a far an explosion happened.
"They're attacking us!" The guards shouted
"Get the civilians in!" A guard said
Everyone in the line entered.
"It worked!" Sozen said
Where the explosion came.
"It was worth bringing a barrel of gunpowder" Kou said "What a amazing distraction!"
"Now we need to run!" Katsuo said
"It's only up to them now!" Mika said hopping on her horse
They rode off.
Back in the city.
"We need to start walking" Sozen said
"Yeah" Aiko said
"Keep your hood on" Sozen said
They heard something from the guards.
"What?!" A guard said "A barrel of gunpowder only?!"
"Y-yes sir" another guard said "We couldn't find anyone around that area"
"Does that mean..." The guard realized "They've infiltrated the kingdom! Search them!"
"W-what?!" the other guard said "Y-yes sir!"
The guard run off.
"They've realized" Sozen said
"We need to get to the palace fast" Aiko said
Sozen noticed a group of guards walking straight towards them.
"Over here" Sozen pulled her to an alley between to buildings.
The guards passed by them.
"It's not safe to walk in the streets" Tranzarus said
"There's only one option" Sozen looked up
"Oh... there" Aiko said
On the roofs of the buildings, dark figures run and jumped roof to roof.
Those were them!"
"Have you ever done this Aiko?" Sozen asked
"Well kinda" Aiko said
"Look! There's the palace!" Tranzarus said
They run and jumped.
"Up there!" A guard shouted
"They've noticed us" Aiko said
"They're heading to the palace!" A guard shouted
"This will be exciting!" Sozen said
They started running very fast
"We're almost there!" Aiko said
She almost jumped off but Sozen stopped her.
"The palace is surrounded by water" Sozen noticed
The only way to get in was walking through a bridge.
"What do we do?" Aiko said
They jumped off and hid in the crowd.
"This is a problem" Sozen said "I had this just in case"
He grabbed some potions and gave it to Aiko and Tranzarus.
"What are these?" Aiko asked
"Invisibility potions" Sozen said
"What?!" Aiko said "These are expensive!"
"Just drink it" Sozen started drinking it and then disappeared
Aiko and Tranzarus did aswell and disappeared.
They walked through the bridge, undetected.
"So then, we just need to kidnap the princess?" Tranzarus said
"Well it's more like 'Invite her and talk to her'" Sozen said
They climbed through a window that lead to a hallway.
"There's no guards in sight" Aiko said
"Perfect, the potion should run out now" Sozen said
In a few seconds later, they reappeared.
"This feels quite wrong" Aiko said
"Yeah... but we have to talk with her" Sozen said
"Shhh!" Tranzarus said
They continued to walk through the hallway quietly and stopped infront of a door.
The door knob started moving.
"Hide!" Aiko said
They hid below a table and a maid came out of the room.
"Let's get in" Sozen said
They entered and closed the door, but they didn't realize someone was inside the room.
"Oh no" Aiko said
"We have to knock her out!" Tranzarus said
"Wait!" The girl said
"Tranzarus stop" Sozen said "That's the princess"
"Oh... right...." Tranzarus said
"Who are you guys?" She asked
"She doesn't seem shocked or suprised" Aiko said confused
"You really don't know how many times people snack inside my room" She said "So then, what do you want? I'm busy"
"Lily, who is that...?" A weak voice said from behind some curtains
"It's nothing father" The girl named Lily said
"What's that I sense...." The king said "A Divine Hero...?"
"Divine Hero?!" Lily said suprised "Which one of you is?"
"Them" Aiko pointed at Sozen and Tranzarus
"Hero" Lily went on her knees
"Uhh... please stop with the formalities" Sozen said
"Yeah..." Tranzarus said
"Oh sorry!" Lily stood up "Let me show you the king"
She led us to the king. He was laying on a bed, he looked pale and was quite weak.
"A divine hero..." The king looked at Sozen "You're more different than the him...."
"You must be referring to the Bow Hero" Tranzarus said
"It has been a while since I saw another hero..." The king said and then started coughing
"Father, you should rest" Lily said "I'll talk to them"
"Please do.." The king fell asleep.
"Now then, why is another hero from another kingdom here?" Lily asked.
"Well I feel like this is not the best place to talk about it" Sozen said
"Why is that?" Lily asked confused
"Let's just say that we're wanted" Aiko said
"Wanted?!" Lily said suprised
"We'll anyways" Sozen gave her a letter
"Is this a love letter?!" Lily said
"Umm... no" Sozen said "It's an invitation"
"Oh..." Lily said a bit embarrased "Invitation to what?"
"To talk with the Resistance" Sozen said
"Resistance? There's a Resistance?!" Lily said confused
"Just read the letter, it will show you the location and instructions" Aiko said
"Okay?" Lily said
"Now then, we need to leave" Sozen said
"A maid will guide you outside undetected" Lily said "I hope we see eachother again" She smiled
She rang a bell.
"Let's go" Tranzarus said
They opened the door, a maid was waiting outside.
"I'll lead the way" she said
They left the palace safely.
The next night.
"When is she coming?" Katsuo said impatient
"Be patient Katsuo" Mika said
"She's coming" Kou said
The princess appeared, with a knight on her side.
"I'm happy that you arrived" Sozen said
"It's nice to see you guys again" Lily said
"Princess" Mika went on her knees. "It's good to see you again"
"Mika!" Lily said happy "I haven't seen you for a while"
"It's good to see you princess" Mika said
"But, what are you doing here?" Lily asked
"You don't know?" Tranzarus said "She's the leader of the Resistance"
"Leader?!" Lily said suprised "I heard that there was a leader, but I was not expecting her!"
"Anyways we have to discuss something with you" Aiko said
"Yeah, that's why I came" Lily said
"Follow me" Mika said
They walked through the barrier, Lily looked quite suprised of the place.
"Please take a seat my princess" Mika said
She sat down near a table, they gave her some tea.
Me and Mika sat down.
"So then, what would you like to discuss?" Lily asked
"It's about The Bow Hero" Mika said
She sighed "I knew that it was about him"
"Do you know what he has done?" Sozen asked
"No, of course not" Lily said
"The Bow Hero only cares about himself, he ordered towns to make a golden statue of him, hunted people who were against him and much more" Mika said
"What?!" She stood up "This is outrageous!"
"But, it's also your fault" Sozen said
"M-my fault?" She said shocked
"You were focused on your father rather than the kingdom and it's civilians" Sozen said
"But I had to!" Lily said
"But you can't give someone else your responsibilities" He said
"What can I do?! My father is sick!" Lily said
Sozen sighed "Is his sickness uncurable?"
"Well...well" Lily said
"Has he told you to take care of the kingdom?" He asked
"Well..." Lily said
"Are you scared of becoming the queen of the kingdom" He said
She went quiet.
"Your father wants you to care more about the kingdom he built with your ancestors" Sozen said "I know that your scared, but you can't lose everything he built"
She realized her mistake.
"You're right, I am scared" She said "But I'll rule the kingdom for my father's legacy.. no, my family's legacy!"
"Of course you will" Sozen smiled
"That was deep Sozen" Aiko said
"Of course, have you forgotten who I am?" Sozen said
Lily hugged him.
"Thank you so much!" She said "I'll teach the Bow Hero a lesson!"
"That will be great" Kou said
"I'd like to give you a gift Sozen" Lily smiled
"A present?" Sozen said curious
Lily kissed her cheek.
Sozen blushed and Aiko felt a bit jealous
"Think of this as a thank you" Lily smiled
"Wow, you really are a charmer Sozen" Kou joked
"Well, it's time to go" Lily said
Lily stood up and her and his knight were exiting the barrier.
"Wait Lily" Sozen said
"Hm? What is it?" Lily asked
"They're waiting outside for an ambush" He said
"An ambush?!" Aiko said suprised
Suddenly an arrow flew and broke the barrier.
"The barrier?!" Katsuo said shocked
"Welcome" Sozen said
From the bushes appeared...
"Bow Hero" He said
It was the Bow Hero, he had his teammates with him.
"YOU" He said annoyed
