See you again

"No catch. You guys were not the only ones that I've helped" Megan smiled. "I've been to many orphanages to give the sweets to. Sometimes my family's bakery would make too much and have leftovers, so I go and donate it to the kids."

"Sorry lady, but I don't trust anyone. What if you guys are kidnappers who work for slave auctions?" The boy said gritting his teeth.

"Slave auctions?" Megan furrowed her brows then looked at Victon. His face was not pretty either.

"Yes, there are underground slave auctions around here and it's popular among nobles. They kidnap kids and others, then sell them illegally."

Victon frowned then opened his mouth to ask, "Do you know the location of the auction?"

"Yes, I do. It's not that far from here."

"How did you find out?" Megan asked.

"This girl over there" the boy then pointed at the girl sitting on the broken sofa. "Her name is Marigold and she was kidnapped. I happened to be there when they took her down into the underground... she would've been taken away by an old man if I didn't find the key and open her cell and handcuffs on time." The boy said with a frown.

Megan's eyes became red with anger when she heard the story. Nathan who was serving the bread to the kids, could see the veins popping on Megan's forehead from furry.

"Victon..." Megan turned to him, "can you do something about this?"

Victon immediately replied, "Of course, I can. This is illegal and I'm entitled to become Duke if I can't solve something like this." His aura was dead and cold, the kids shivered from sensing it.

"Wait, did you just say that you're a Duke?" The boy asked with his eyes widened with surprise.

"Soon to be Duke" Victon corrected him. "I will talk to my father about this. I have to get permission to infiltrate... can I ask Marigold to be a witness? I need some sort of evidence in order to invade."

"I think you should tell your father first, then come back to get a witness" Megan said.

"You mean you have the power to stop those slave auctions?" Nathan asked.

"Yes, I do" Victon said with determination.

"What's your name?" Megan asked the boy.

"Esther" he answered.

"Alright Esther and Nathan, we will leave now. I will come back tomorrow to give you guys some snacks and bread."

The kids waved at the two who are leaving the house. Megan waved back with a gentle smile.

They left the old house and walked back to the bakery in silence. A little later, Megan asked, "if you crash the auction you will be able to arrest those are are involved... but what about the people who are already enslaved?"

Hearing Megan's question, Victon didn't know what to say as he couldn't think of a solution. "Truthfully, I don't know. I don't think I can get an approval to invade every nobles' house, and I doubt they even have a receipt that says they paid for this person."

The two walked in silence once again. Megan subconsciously slipped her hand into his and held it tight for some peace of mind. Victon sensed that she was stressed and sad because of the kids' situation. He took her hand up to give it a kiss while saying, "don't worry I'll bust those slave auctions. So don't be so stressed out."

"Thank you for your help" Megan said looking at his beautiful eyes.

"It's nothing" Victon said lovingly.

By the time they arrived back at the back yard, the sun was setting. "Is your wrists okay now?" Victon asked.

"Hm, it's nothing... and thank you for today's date" Megan said giggling.

"Have a good night. Do you want to meet up tomorrow to go to the kids?" Victon asked.

"Yes, since tomorrow is a working day, I will meet you when the sun sets. Good night" Megan smiled. She walked to the back door when she stopped and looked back at Victon who is slowly walking out. Megan dropped her books and ran up to him. She took her hands to place onto his broad shoulders and tipped toe to give him a wet smooch at his soft cheek.

"Thank you for today and have a good night" with a blush, Megan went back to pick up her books and ran into the house.

Victon stood there frozen... he was shocked. He didn't expect her to give him a kiss, even though it was only on the cheek he loved it because she was the one initiating it. He touched his cheek and chuckled. 'This date was worth it' he thought.

Victon took one more look at the window to see a head peering behind the curtains. He waved at the window with a charming smile then left with his aura brightly lighting the dark night sky.

******

On the other side, Megan saw Victon waved looking at her window and smiled so handsomely before departing. Her heart was racing as she tries to cool herself. 'Why did I just do that?' Megan thought. That sudden urge shook Megan's brain. Perhaps it was genuine feelings that came from her heart. Perhaps she did like him, but only deny it in her head because she's stubborn.

"He's probably too handsome that I had to kiss him" Megan screeched at her own words as she punched air.

It took her a while to cool down her tomato face. She liked his presence... how he was protective of her and how willingly he wanted to help her. Megan couldn't wait to see him again tomorrow...
