"Cyleen. Are you sure about this?"
Lexy murmured while we are inside the elevator. Quarter to eight, we already arrived at C.J Holdings. I don't know why I'm so nervous right now. Maybe because of that fucking nightmare?
"I'm sure now. There's no turning back. I'm already here." I said.
"Okay. If that's your decision. Just remember that— if anything happens, I'm just one call away. I mean I'm in a fifth floor." She said.
"Don't worry about me. I'll be fine."
I said. The elevator stopped and opened at fifth floor. Lexy kissed and wished me luck before she get out of the elevator. I left alone coz the CEO's office according to her was in 25th floor.
I can't deny the fact that I'm really nervous. I don't know what's going to happen later. All I wanted to make sure is to secure my position as a P.A of Mr. Jordan. And once I've been hired, my plan about securing half a million is the next step.
And if you're asking me on how can I do that, I don't know either. Maybe I'm gonna kidnap Mr. Jordan and asked for the remaining amount I needed to complete the payment for mom's operation and therapy.
The elevator stopped again on 15th floor. That's when a pregnant women entered. She smiled at me. I smiled awkwardly though. Do I know her?
"Good morning, Ms. Jaranilla, right?"
This woman on his late thirties said. How come she knows me while I don't even know her. This is the first time I saw her.
"Good morning, ma'am. I'm not being rude but— do I know ypu ma'am?" I asked.
She smiled again.
"Probably. Mrs. Howkins."
She said and smile sweetly. The heck! This is Mrs. Howkins? She looked radiant and blooming on her pregnancy then. I'm sure it's a baby girl.
"Oh my! You're Mrs. Howkins? The one that called yesterday? I'm so sorry ma'am. I didn't know."
I sincerely apologized. Jeez. If I wanted to be hired and be a proficient P.A, I should learned to get along with Mrs. Howkins. She knows best, that's for sure.
"It's okay, Ms. Jaranilla. We only met now, so it's okay. And drop the formalities. Just call me Mrs. Howkins instead of ma'am." She said.
I nodded. Then the elevator stops on 25th floor.
"This way, Ms. Jaranilla." She said.
She lead the way and I followed her. She entered the huge office and instructed me to enter. I noticed the sign at the door says Office of the CEO. I felt more nervous. Now I'm about to face the devil in a human form.
"Mr. Jordan wasn't here yet but he already knew that you're going to be here. I'm have a prenatal check up right now so I can't accompany you. Don't worry, Mr. Jordan knows what to do. Just wait for him here."
Mrs. Howkins said.
What? I'm going to face Mr. Jordan alone? What if he transform into a devil? What I'm going to do then?
Tss. Stop thinking about stupid things, Cyleen!
"Okay, Mrs. Howkins."
That's all I able to say before Mrs. Howkins left. Now I know what the saying "Speak now or forever hold your peace" means on this kind of situation.
I fidgeted on my seat while waiting for Mr. Jordan to arrived. It's already quarter to nine. What taking him so long? The more I waited, the more agitated I've got!
I tried to divert my attention looking at his office. It looks fascinating. What a huge office. The designs look so classy and all the things in here looked expensive. This office was huge as our whole apartment in doubled size.
There's a separate tables for the CEO and the P.A. Two computers. Two printers. Two vault and drawer. There's a name plaque on his table that looks like a real gold. I'm wondering if it cost half a million if I sold it in a pawnshop.
There's a mini counter that filled with expensive wine and transparent glasses. Refrigerator that I assumed filled with fresh goods. There's also a restroom and private room for him to rest.
His office looks like a house coz everything what's in the house was also here. Maybe he's staying here most of the time for works. He don't have enough time to go home that's why? I'm wondering if he still has time for dating.
Tss. Why did I ever think about that? I feel sweaty even the aircon was open. I composed myself and choosed to play Among Us mobile game instead while waiting for him.
I almost fell asleep on the single couch while playing on my cellphone when the door suddenly opened and he entered, while talking to someone over the phone.
"Yeah. Later. I'll be there. I missed you too. Bye."
Tss. So that's the reason why he's late. He's flirting with someone over the phone. I missed you too my faced!
Maybe he's talking to his girlfriend. And they'll gonna see each other later coz they missed each other. And who knows what's gonna happen after that.
"G-good morning, Mr. Jordan."
Damn it! Why did I ever stammered.
"You're here. I thought you already declined. Good to know that you're being practical accepting my offer. Here's the contract. Just sign it now, and we're done here. You can start tomorrow."
He said and gave the contract. Why he's so in a hurry? Ah, I knew it. Coz he's going to meet his girlfriend later! This man!
I started reading the contract. Well, it's perfect. What I'am expecting. It was all in my favor. Who am I to decline? The benefits and salary was to die for. Plus he's too good to look at with his dark blue suit, I can't complain anymore. What!?
Oh come on, Cyleen! Where is that coming from? Well, since then he's really a good looking guy. But now that he matured a lot, I can't explain his greek God features anymore! He's indescribable.
Then I remembered the "I miss you too" thing. Aish. Seriously!
I got my own and signed the contract.
"Great! We're done here. You can leave now." He said.
But I didn't moved in my seat. Since I've already signed the contract, meaning to say I'm one of C.J Holdings employees now. And I've read on the contract that one of the benefits of being his P.A is that— I can asked for salary cash advance if I wanted too.
I think that's all I remember from reading the whole contract. Bright idea just entered my mind.
"Don't you hear what I said, Ms. Jaranilla?"
He said. He looked so serious and dangerous.
"I did. There's just one thing I wanted to say." I said.
He raised his brows and looked at me with so much intense that I wanted to run out on his office as fast as I can. But I can't. This is for my mother. Ignore his deadly stare.
"Spell it out." He said in a Stern voice.
"Can I — ahm— can I cash advance?"
I said. The heck, Cyleen. You're so shameless, girl! Right now I'm shameless, okay. I really needed to do this for the sake of mom. I can't lose her. I can lose my dignity for saying that, but I can't lose someone so dear to me. I can't.
"Cash what!?"
He said as if he misheard what I said.
"Cash advance. I mean— I wanted to cash advance my salary for six months."
I said.
He looked at me in disbelief. Like I just said some kind of a joke that wasn't even funny.
"450,000 thousand? You wanted to cash advance that amount right after you just signed the fucking contract!? Are you kidding me, Ms. Jaranilla? You don't even start working and yet you're going to cash what? Cash advance?"
He said.
"Is that impossible? Oh come on, Mr. Jordan. I know how rich are you. 450,000 thousand wasn't a big deal for you but it is for me. I just badly needed money right now for personal purpose." I said.
"I didn't know that you're that kind of person, Ms. Jaranilla."
He said.
"I don't care about your opinion, Mr. Jordan. Money is the most important thing for me right now, no other than. Just tell me if you can give me the 450,000 thousand or not."
I said, being more shameless now. I'm embarrassing myself too much but who cares. No one cares most specially this man in front of me. This ruthless man doesn't care for me at all. He even the first person who makes me feel worthless and useless before.
So what's our difference? He's not even ashamed about dumping me before. So why should I care about what he's going to say now?
"Fine. I'll give the amount you needed tomorrow. Now, get lost!" He said.
"I needed it now. Not tomorrow."
I said without hesitation. He almost cursed when I said that but he controlled himself. He greeted his teeth instead before he walked into his table.
He opened the drawer and bring out his cheque book and write something on it before he gave it to me.
"For six months, don't you ever complain on whatever I wanted to do with you as my P.A or else, you're gonna gave this back on me in triple amount. You understand?"
I just nodded and without a word, I stormed out of his office..
