Chapter 64: THE WITCHING HOUR

(Ken's POV)

Everything around me felt like spinning,

As a thousand different noises played in the background, my steps shaking,

I could feel the tight grip Uriel had on me,

As he binds a chain of light to the people he saved, thought it strained him truthfully.

He yelled, and bit his hand, just to stay awake from the witche's spell,

But I could feel his hands slip away from me, he was failing, I could tell.

I don't want to be useless, I really don't,

But the spell casted upon us, made my eyes burn,

I bit myself as well, and it bleeded but the pain was not much felt,

I had my teeth buried on it deep, but the pain just won't melt.

The witch, whose green glowing hair floats in the air,

Laughed at us, without the slightest care,

She taunted Uriel, to simply give in,

But Uriel knew to give us up, will be his biggest sin.

Uriel, though already unsteady on his footing,

Casted a sword, still determined to fighting,

And amused by his perseverance, the witch casted her own,

"I would have prepared more spells, if only I've known,"

I dropped to the ground, sleeping for a bit,

The only thing I hear, is feathers torn bit by bit,

I wanted to open my eyes, to see what was happening,

But my body won't let me do it, whispering I must keep sleeping.

When I did heard the piercing cry,

Of an angel close to die,

I quickly opened my eyes,

Fear lending me its power to rise.

It seemed like Uriel wounded a wing,

As the Witch kept taunting him,

"The little dove can't fight, now?

Too bad, the winner's the crow,"

Gabriel saw the poor state of Uriel and even if he's not in the best state,

He jumped in to save him, before it's too late,

The angel casted a temporary barrier, though it requires much power,

Then aided his wounded friend, apologizing he couldn't come sooner.

Wanting to help them the best way I can,

I focused on my fists and prayed for them to land-

To absorb the witch's spell-although it's a feat I haven't yet unlocked,

It's what I am hoping for to work, either by will or pure luck.

I felt nothing however, and it felt even more depressing,

Seeing the angels struggle and fight, as I watch back and do nothing,

I felt so disappointed, but sleepy just the same,

As the spell kept getting stronger, and staying awake felt such a pain.

Michael suddenly requested, that we move out and retreat,

Though hard to admit, Michael knew we must admit defeat,

Low levelled angels, were torn apart by the witches,

Wings scattered about, as their hands and limbs were sucked by leeches.

I felt horrified, and this fear felt much more than the time I saw corpses seemingly alive,

For the witches are smarter, and much cruel, and causing us suffering is their very pride.

Out of pure spite I shot my hands up,

As blood tricked on my face,

I yelled to God for help,

As a ray of light seemingly went out to space.

...

Sellena shot back up to bed,

After realizing her hand was glowing,

Asmodeus now wide awake rubbed his sleeping head,

As he looked at her, after a few blinking.

"Damn it, love, what the heck are you doing now?"

"It just did this on its own, I didn't even know how,"

The demon quickly grew his horns, to signal he's now fully wide awake,

As her hands still glowing, he quickly snatch and take.

After realizing he couldn't do much about it,

He just simply hugged Sellena back to sleep,

As Sellena felt suffocated,

But to fight back she was already weak.

Lluming arrived at morning,

For every night he was freed to do roamings,

To inspect every inch of the demon territory,

In hopes to find the perfect suit for victory.

When he came back he saw the unusual glow,

As if a call, from someone to know,

But Sellena couldn't move, as Asmodeus was way too heavy,

And Lluming couldn't interfere, as he was way too wary.

He flew to the cage, after yet another failed investigation,

The demons don't trust each other much, yet he understands their decision,

Sellena looks hassled, and her once fierce eyes now in depression,

That when Asmodeus awoke, he tried to cheer her up, but to no succession.

It seemed like Sellena dreamed about Ken,

The boy that could speak to creatures in heaven,

But in a bloodied war is where her dreams had took her,

And how an unsightly thing it was, where hope felt so over.

"Are you mad at me?" Asmodeus asked, resting his head on her shoulder,

"No, I'm not," Sellena said, pulling her blanket up, as she felt colder,

"You look scared, did I scare you?"

"No, it's not about you,"

The lustful demon placed more kisses on her cheeks,

Hoping that the action, will cheer her up at least,

But her worry, frustration, and confusion mixed at once,

That she finally felt like she was lost in a trance.

Her tears fell involuntarily,

As her hope diminish slowly,

She thought she could handle herself,

But truth be told, right now, that was not how she felt.

Lluming tried to restrain himself from wanting to punch the demon,

From how clueless he looked, and his shameful actions,

Asmodeus felt confused, but sorry for her,

That he let her out of her room, to visit other humans, but must come back after.

Sellena refused, not wanting to visit the prison,

As her heart melts everytime she see their situation,

Asmodeus scratched his head, and his concern turns to anger,

As what is wrong with her? What was she after?

"What do you want?"

"Freedom, which you won't be able to grant,"

"What else do you need?"

"Things I know, you can never give,"

Asmodeus sighed deeply, and changed back to his formal clothes,

"Fine, I'll arrange a legion, to find people to whom you are close,"

"You leave them alone! And don't let them suffer with me!

In this hell, full of filth and guilt, you will never see!

If you want to kill me, after you feel satisfied with me,

Then do it already, so I can be free!"

Tears fell down from her eyes,

As she felt like she had betrayed God for all her failed tries,

She wiped her tears quickly, as Asmodeus stood there, surprised,

"I won't kill you, even if you're not as nice,"

Asmodeus helped her wipe, the tears that she now shed,

As Sellena kept wishing, that it's better if she's dead,

She felt like she's not a person anymore,

But rather a demon's collection in a store.

The onyx eyed demon felt guilty for pushing her too far,

That he decided to leave her, for a few hours,

Hoping the time he comes back, her expression's no longer sour..

...

(Ken's POV)

The ray of light was enough to distract the witches and drop their guard,

As the archangels moved, and saved others although marred,

Some angels did not retain their physical forms however, and they flew above as glowing orbs,

As the heaven briefly opened, the small circles it quickly absorbed.

I remembered my senses failing me that time,

As another person, carried me, on his back,

The rain pouring, the scene so wack,

I finally gave in, as my visions blacks.

Before it did, I heard a haunting phrase,

"It doesn't matter, at the end of this year, we'll burn this world ablaze,

So your efforts to protect them, will be all to waste,

Just let us rule this earth, as you stay in your place,

Or let Great Lord Lucifer, finally count your days..."
